"Hey Katniss, what's up? Why did you want to meet here?"
"Oh Madge, I just want to talk to you about something, actually about someone."
Madge had a feeling on who this someone is. "Katniss if you are talking about Gale, save it I'm not going to listen to it."
"But Madge, as your friend I don't want you to get hurt."
"Really? You don't want me to get hurt or you don't me and Gale to be together? Katniss you already have Peeta, why is it that you still try to make me Gale broke up?
"Because I know Gale and I know how he feels. And I still cannot let him go even though I have Peeta. I don't know what to do Madge."
"You don't know huh? Katniss let me tell you what I know, you are being selfish, I know you care for Peeta and Gale but it is not fair for you to make me stop seeing Gale because you cannot let him go. I am happy for you and Peeta, why can't you be happy for me and Gale?"
"Because Gale doesn't feel the same way about you. He is infatuated with you but he doesn't love you the same way you love him."
"You're just saying that. Katniss how could you be so cruel. Do you really have to take the person that I love, the only person that showed me that I am not just the Mayor's Daughter? How could you do this to me, I thought we are friends."
"We are and that is why I am telling you this. Fine if you really think that Gale loves you then why did he kiss me? Why did he kiss me so much passion? Why did he tell me to runaway with him?"
"Maybe he is just confused."
"Confused? Madge if he loves you he won't be confused. He will not look at me again if he loves you so much. And certainly he will not tell me to runaway with him if he is confused."
"But he told me love me."
"Madge he told you that because he wants to believe that he loves you. I am sorry to say this but he just used you to substitute for me."
"No Katniss you're wrong."
"You're the wrong one Madge, do you really think that he loves you. Gale will always see you as the Mayor's Daughter, he will only use you just like the other girls he used to bring at the slagheap. Madge you will always be the substitute. He doesn't love you. When will you ever get it right?"
"I've always known that he loves you, I am just hoping that even for just a little he could feel the same way for me. He will never forget you but I hope I can help him forget the pain. But you know you're right it will always be you, I know it is silly of me to think he will love me. You know you and Gale really belong together because you two are so good at making people feel that you love them even though you know for a fact that you don't love them at all. You don't really have feelings for Peeta, never had never will. And same with Gale, he doesn't love me as well. Peeta and I were just stupid to believe you and Gale."
"Madge that's not true."
"Save it Katniss. I am done."
