Avan POV

We sat down at a nearby table and talked for a while. I asked them about themselves and found out that they were the girls from Broadway. They must be really good.

Then they asked me about myself.

"Well, I'm seventeen, I've been acting for a while, and that's pretty much it. I'm a simple guy." I said. I was lying, but they didn't need to know that.

Then Ariana, the girl with pinkish-red hair asked me if I was dating Vic. I contemplated my answer for a moment. Yeah, I'd had a crush on Vic for a long time, but I could feel it disappearing the more Elizabeth Gillies talked.

I explained that Vic was just a friend, and that was quickly becoming more and more true. But I wasn't exactly single either. I was dating Miley Cyrus, a Disney star. Miley was beautiful, and we'd been together for about a week or two now, so I knew I shouldn't be having thoughts about other girls, but Miley and I didn't love ach other, did we? I mean, we spent a lot of time together, and paparazzi was all over a Disney star dating a Nick star, but that doesn't mean she loved me. And sex doesn't equal love either. Not completely. So what exactly were we?

After a few more minutes of talking with Liz and Ariana, Vic called to me, and I got up to help her out, joking as I did so. I couldn't help myself as I began to walk over to Vic and I brushed my hand over Liz's arm on purpose. I wanted to feel her smooth skin. She seemed so...well, there was no words to describe her.

"Yeah, whatcha need, Vic?" I asked, leaning on the wall next to her.

"Do you think this dress looks good on me?"

I rolled my eyes and laughed at her.

"What?" She asked, offended.

"I'm not laughing at you, Vic." I said, putting a hand on her shoulder.

"Then...why are you laughing, Avan?"

"Ha! You're my best friend, read my mind!" I said making a funny face.

"Whatever. Get me out of this dress!" She whined at me.

I backed up joking, "Whoa, Vic. I don't take girls out of their dresses till the third date!"

"Avan!"

"Okay, okay. I'll help you. You are wearing shorts and a tank top or something under it, right?" I asked.

"Yes, Avan. I'm wearing what I was wearing before under the dress, okay?"

I helped her get it off and then dragged her over to meet the others.

I knew Matt Bennett, he was a close friend of mine, and Leon Thomas seemed pretty cool.

I couldn't help but look at Liz every few moments.

After a while, we ended up standing in silence, till Dan saved the day.

...Then tells us he wants Liz and I to seem like a couple, so we should spend more time together.

Miley might not like that.

Vic went over to get a dress that fit her and left Liz and I standing alone together.

I rubbed the back of my neck nervously.

"So..." I trailed.

"Wanna take a walk?" She asked.

That confised me for a moment.

"A...walk? Where to?"

"I saw a trail down the road. Wanna go explore the trail?" She asked again.

"Sure," I smiled.

She blushed a little bit and began walking out of the conference room. I followed.

Liz POV

Why? Why the hell does he have to be so cute?

I showed him the trail as we got to the end of Sunset Blvd.

"Looks like a cool trail," He said. There were trees and the dirt trail, so I figured we should just follow it and see where it leads us."

As we were walking, Avan began joking about what it might lead to. "It might take us to some creepy old witch's house where she'll chop us up and eat us for dinner. Or it could take us to an old ax-men's house, where he'll chop us up with a rusty old ax and eat us. Or sell us."

I laughed at him. "Why does everything lead up to being chopped and eaten for dinner?"

"I don't know. Seems like the most common ending?"

"It does. Well, I'm a vegetarian, so you have don't have to worry about me chopping you up and eating you."

"You're a vegetarian?" He asked, surprised.

"Well, vegan, but yeah." I said.

"Wow. That's awesome."

"So, you're definitely not a simple kind of guy, like you said you were." I said.

"What makes you think that?"

I laughed again. "Your clothing choices, you're love for wondering if we'll get chopped up and eaten, you're behaviors."

"It's not a love." He muttered, grinning.

"So, tell me more about you." I said. I found myself wanting to know things about him, but I knew I shouldn't be feeling this way about anyone, because I had just gotten out of a relationship. The butterflies when he grinned at me, blushing when he made me smile or laugh, these were things I was supposed to feel when I was with Eric. But I hadn't that often.

"Well, I really do love acting," He said.

"Oh, cool. So if you're not dating Victoria Justice, then who are you dating?"

"What makes you assume I'm not single?"

"Uhm...I don't know." I said, trying to focus on a rock we were walking towards.

"Alright, you got me. I'm not single." He sighed. I could see a small grin form on his face. "I'm dating Matt. We were trying to keep it a secret, but you caught us."

I was stunned for a moment. The he stopped at looked at my expression and began laughing.

I caught on and laughed with him.

"No, seriously, though. I'm actually dating Miley Cyrus right now."

"Wow, really? The Miley Cyrus?" Sure, my hopes had dropped below the ground, but still.

"Yep. The Miley."

"Wow. That's...awesome."

"Totally. What about you? You got a boyfriend?"

"What makes you think I'm not single?" I mocked.

"You're really pretty, and you seem to have a great personality."

"Oh. Thanks. But, no, I'm single." I said, looking at the ground and watching little clouds of dust being kicked up from us walking.

"That's a surprise." He said, looking at me.

Avan POV

So. She didn't have a boyfriend.

"Why is that a surprise?" She asked me.

"I've already stated the obvious."

"What's the obvious?"

"That you're amazingly pretty, and you have a great personality. Plus, you have the most beautiful eyes I've ever seen." I said. It was my turn to blush alongside her.

"Well, you're really handsome." She said, looking at the ground again.

"Thanks." I said looking at her.

She looked surprised for a second. "Oh. You thought I meant it."

I was taken aback for a moment. "What?" I asked, shocked.

Her face broke out in a grin and she began laughing at me.

"I was joking, Avan. It was a joke."

I put my hand on her waist and walked to her other side.

"Y'know, if I weren't dating Miley..." I said in a joking tone.

But it didn't feel like a joke to me. I think I seriously meant it.
