Chapter 2: Incorrect Introductions

Konoha, a legendary village in the shinobi world; home to the most powerful ninja ever known. The gates were always kept open; I had always guessed it was a warm welcome to travelers, not exactly caring at the current time. I plummeted from the treetops to the dusty ground in front of the gates, practically exhausted from the non-stop sprint to the hidden village. The two guards hastily picking up their kunai and approaching me with caution. Lazily waving at them before they could shout.

"Yes. I know about the cloak, but hear me out."

Just barely making out the two eye each other suspiciously until they slowly continued their approach. I laid on the soft dirt patch, gasping and bloodied as I held my injured arm in pain. The wood piece had not been easy to manage and I was sure it needed a bit of medical treatment. Finally, a shadow blacked out the sun and I slowly opened my eyes; recognizing one of the guards faces' causing me to chuckle sheepishly and speak again.

"Hello."

He cocked an eyebrow, his gaze shooting to my cloak then to my obviously present injury.

"Akatsuki, huh?"

I shakily raised my bloodied hand and shook my head.

"Previous. I'm...a leaf shinobi. Came back...have info...need...Hokage. You...can trust...me."

His eyes widened and surprisingly he offered a hand to me, which I gripped upon with gracious appreciation.

"Thanks. I can help you against the organization."

He only nodded and ushered me to walk with him. My eyesight wasn't so good as the amount of blood was slowly being lowered as I did my best not to faint. Gulping down the slight lump of fear in my throat, I followed the guards into the village.

"We'll escort you to the hospital first. Bet you don't want to walk around a village that despises you half dead."

I gave a weak smile and barely managed a laugh as I continued to walk alongside him. The killing intent from the villagers hurt but was manageable. Surprisingly, not being bound, I was escorted through the busy streets of the village. As I neared the people, they stopped what they were doing to glare at me. Women turning their children away, men gripping whatever they had a hold on till their knuckles were white. I gulped and returned my gaze to my sandaled feet. The trip wasn't as long as I had expect and thankfully we arrived in about ten minutes. The guard that escorted me opened the door, giving me a wave asI stepped inside the pearly white building.

I gulped, yet again, wide eyed at the amount of killing intent I received from just arriving. Utterly surprised that civilians could generate this much and direct it onto myself. I took a deep breath in an attempt to calm myself while a nurse, to her immediate dismay, approached me. She had pink shoulder-length hair, sea green eyes, a long white hospital coat and a small clipboard held loosely in her hand. Eyeing me up and down, she managed a shrug; ushering me to follow, though not sticking my tongue out at her back.

It seemed like an eternity as we traversed the halls of the slickly pale white building. The nurse was now just a pink blob in my field of vision, while doing my best to follow her into a room. Immediately, she turned to face me and aimed a finger to the bed.

"Coat and any clothes besides your pants off."

I smirked, cocking an eyebrow playfully.

"Heh. You want me out of my clothes? I think we should get to know each other more before-"

She interrupted me with a quick jab to the jaw. Still, with the amount of force and my lack of energy, I flew to the opposite wall and cursed.

"Kuso! What the hell? You're supposed to be healing not hurting me!"

She rolled her eyes and pointed to the bed. I sighed, picking myself up and cursed again as I eased myself on the surprisingly comfortable mattress. She walked over to my injured arm, tossing her clipboard to an empty chair as her hands glowed green. She easily loosened the makeshift bandage I made and tossed it to the ground. She gripped the piece of bark in her hand and in a sharp pull, wrenched it from my arm; bits of blood bursting from the sudden open wound. I cursed under my breath, panting, as my head fell back to the pillow. She looked me over as the scar on my bicep healed and sighed.

"Why'd you come back?"

I looked over to her and smiled weakly. "I really didn't like what they were doing. I'd rather be here than in that damned organization. I might as well bring information." She nodded and shockingly didn't make any distant looks at me.

"What's your name anyway?"

She looked up with surprise.

"Sakura. Haruno Sakura."

I smiled, not exactly recognizing the last name.

"Zesu. Uchiha Zesu."

Her eyes went wide as she stepped back. I narrowed my eyes and lifted myself to a seated position with a look of concern plastered upon my face.

"Haruno? You alright?"

She took a deep breath and stood up a little straighter.

"Y-You are a..."

I raised an eyebrow and finally made an 'o' with my mouth, understands going her sudden change in emotion. I waved a hand, lightly chuckling as she took her seat again.

"Yep. Uchiha blood right here. Don't worry. I'm not one of the arrogant pricks like the other ones."

She rolled her eyes, giggling at the jab to my own clan, and began to wrap up my arm.

"C'mon. Up you go. We need to see the Hokage."

I shivered nervously and she caught it with a questioning glance, responding by sheepishly rubbing the back of my head.

"Sorry, just nervous y'know. Being an ex-Akatsuki member and all."

She just shrugged; picked up her belongings as I hopped off the bed to the smooth linoleum floor. Snatching my cloak and shirt, I hurriedly followed her out the room.
