Disclaimer: Don't own Walking Dead
AN: Sorry doesn't even begin to cut how bad I feel for how long I made you guys wait for this next chapter. I had a lot on my mind the past few months but I'll do my very best to update this story more often.
Time to bring more of the beautiful Beth Greene versus the adorable Mika Samuels for the heart of badass Carl Grimes.
Sorry if this is shorter but the next chapter will definitely be a lot longer.
Enjoy
Chapter 2-
A short time after the declaration of war between Beth and Mika, the former was at the fences with a crowbar and apron on helping taking out some walkers that had pressed against the fences. She paced around whilst twirling around the weapon in her hands, staring hard into the eyes of the walking corpses in front of her.
She was still peeved about having to rush into admitting and showing Carl how she felt about him when the newly arrived Mika had gotten the guts to regularly show him her crush on him. She was fine with working up to the point where she got comfortable to tell him, but that conversation she had with Carl just an hour ago showed that if she didn't beat Mika to the punch; the boy might return Mika's affections.
Just the thought of that made Beth growl and jam her crowbar into the head of a walker. She watched with a strange satisfaction at the sound of the crowbar sinking into the undead flesh and the pull of her weapon, the walker falling to the ground dead.
After the first kill, she really got into the mood of things and started taking out the walkers left and right; imagining the toothy smile of Mika on each of them. The echo of her childish laugh made Beth wanna scream.
Never in her eighteen years of life had she been so annoyed and angered at a kid before.
Glenn, who was also on the wall, was watching in shock as his half sister-in-law took out the walkers like if something possessed her. He stepped in her direction to see if he can figure out what was wrong with her.
"Beth?" He asked, only getting a grunt from the girl as she halted her killing spree. "You okay?" He could see the clear look of frustration on her face as blood dripped down the front of the crowbar. His only other question was what was bothering her so much that she was going crazy on walkers.
Beth turned to look at Glenn, staring at him with a distanced look in her eyes before she looked behind him to the fields where Rick and Carl were doing their daily farm activities. She stared at the younger Grimes before she turned her attention back to the walkers.
Glenn caught where she was looking, now getting some idea of what was up with her. "Did something happen between you and Carl?" He asked, watching how she seemed to tense and tighten her hand around the crowbar. "I'll take that as a yes," he mused.
"No," she shook her head. "Nothing happened between me and Carl... although he is involved in a way." She explained.
"I'm lost..." Glenn said, looking back between Carl and Beth like if the answer to what she said would magically appear in front of him if he kept doing this.
Beth sighed before she settled for explaining the whole thing to Glenn, getting more than a few laughs out of the Korean man after she wrapped up the story.
"You're in a 'war' with a ten year old to try and win Carl's heart?" He asked to make sure that he heard it right. Truth be told, he found the entire thing to be hilarious. Definitely the kind of humor this place needed after all the stuff with The Governor.
Beth blushed embarrassingly after hearing her predicament come from Glenn's mouth. It did sound strange coming from someone else's mouth.
"Its not funny," she muttered defensively. A part of her knew the circumstances surrounding her predicament was kinda funny, so she wasn't really angry with Glenn for laughing.
Glenn laughed. "Yeah it kinda is," he said. "You need help or something telling him?"
"No," she muttered. "I have things under control... for now." She knew that Mika's boldness was gonna be a problem due to Beth not being as open with her feelings to Carl like the younger blonde girl was.
"You know Maggie sees how you look at Carl, right?" Glenn revealed, getting a curious glance from Beth. "She's waiting to see how long it'll take for you to finally say something to him. Why not ask her to help you out with your situation?"
It wasn't that bad of an idea, Beth thought after much thinking. Maggie did have a lot of experience with boys, so there could be something that she knew that could help aid her in the battle with Mika.
Whether Beth could admit it or not, Mika was kicking her ass so far in this battle for Carl.
"I'll ask her after the next group comes to relieve us." Beth stated, turning her attention back to the cluster of walkers in front of her and resuming her work in taking them out.
Glenn just watched her and thought to himself. 'Things just always seem to get weirder and weirder around here.'
He missed Daryl next to him helping with the cluster, having head the whole thing before he quickly dismissed himself to go and prepare for the show that would begin soon.
...
Carl finished his farming work for the day with his father, now shuffling aimlessly around the prison yard. He was currently waiting for Patrick so they can go and play some soccer or something. They would figure it out once they met up.
He heard the shuffling of someone's feet behind him, turning around thinking it was Patrick. He wasn't all that shocked or surprised when he saw that it was Mika; her usual big smile on her face when he was around.
"Hey," he greeted with a wave of the hand, Mika taking it a step higher and giving him a hug. Carl didn't wrap his arms around her, not that he could if he wanted to since his arms were pinned to his side from her grip.
"Hi Carl!" She greeted a little more enthusiastically. She still had her arms around him. "I wanted to ask you if you wanted to come play tag with me and Lizzie?"
Carl really had a hard time trying to think of a rejection with the excited look that was on Mika's face. After his talk with Beth about how Mika was smart for liking him, he got a lot more tolerant and accepting of the girl's crush on him. He now saw it almost like how everyone else did now.
It was kinda cute.
"I would," he admitted, Mika getting an even bigger grin on her face. "But," it dropped quickly. "I'm waiting for Patrick."
"He can play with us too!" Mika stated. "We can do two on two!"
Carl seemed to think that wasn't that bad of an idea. It could be fun and his dad did want him to hang out with the other kids and have a little more fun in his life. He figured it could work.
"Sure," he nodded; a small smile crossing his face when he saw her face brighten up. "Let's see if we can find Patrick." He should've been here already, but Carl figured he just got lost again. This prison was a big place and took some getting used too before knowing where everything was.
"Okay!" Mika latched onto him. Carl could do just a little without the hugging and clutching. The two started to walk back to the main courtyard of the prison.
"Mika?" The girl gave Carl her full attention. "What were you and Beth talking about before?" Mika quickly remembered what he was talking about and frowned. "What made the two of you angry at the other so much?"
Carl was staring in confusion when Mika seemed to get angrier by the second, which made the grip she had on him tighten, which also made his arm scream in pain.
"We just decided on something, that's all." She looked like she wasn't gonna reveal what it was exactly that happened, as it seemed to spark something in her.
Carl nodded okay, although he was sure something was up. Passing the food distribution, they missed the closed in eyes of Carol Peletier watching them and the form of Daryl Dixon examining them like a hawk from the water bucket. Daryl smirked when he guessed that the wheels were in motion.
The two shared a look between them before they came to the separate conclusions that had them moving from where they were, Carol passing off the distribution of food to Charlie before she met up with Daryl and started following Carl and Mika, the latter explaining that he knew what was going on.
The reason they seemed to care so much over something like this?
This was just a barrel of laughs just waiting to happen and they knew it was gonna come into high gear when Beth found out Mika already got ahead of her.
...
Maggie was close to laughing her ass off.
First she spots Carl and one of the new kids, Mika walking almost arm in arm inside the prison from the walkway. Then she sees Daryl and Carol walk after them, probably catching on to what was going on. Maggie was confused when she witnessed Daryl leave his post early and then it only increased when the man had a smirk on his face the whole time that was just waiting to burst.
Maggie saw Glenn and Beth down at the fence where Daryl was, maybe thinking that something happened that Daryl left early. But then it all came crashing down when she heard Daryl explain to Carol what was going on.
"Beth is in a war with the new girl for Carl's heart."
Maggie then lost it and started chucking from her spot, eyeing her sister down at the fences with her husband of two months with a smile on her face.
She knew that Beth had an issue with Mika. She had seen the way Beth glared when she went near Carl or when Mika spoke to him. It was the funniest thing she's ever seen in her life. Plus, she saw the two give the other the stink eye earlier today.
She shrugged. "Well, Beth..." she said as she started to head to the door that would lead her down to the main yard. "Looks like you need some assistance."
End of Chapter 2 of Greene vs. Samuels
You guys probably didn't like that moment between Carl and Mika but I needed it. I have to make the sides fair and balanced to make a more interesting battle.
Now I got Glenn, Maggie, Carol, and Daryl in on the war. This is a setup for the first official battle the two will have for Carl, which involves that game of tag that was mentioned, which you will all love ;)
The next chapter will be up soon and will have Maggie roping in Glenn to help Beth, giving sisterly advice and tips, Daryl and Carol picking a side, Patrick and Lizzie being caught in the middle, and the game of tag.
I can assure that the laughs will definitely get great when Rick gets involved. That I can't wait for.
I'm also open for suggestions on what you guys wanna see Beth and Mika do for the war towin Carl. I got some stuff in mind, but could use a little more. Pretty please? :)
Review if you enjoyed and have a nice day.
