I cracked my eyes open and groaned, it certainly didn't feel as painful as when it first happened, but the wound still ached. I opted not to look down at it, but instead pause and listen to the noise that had woken me up. Ezio was standing in the doorway of the room talking to a group of giggly women, I couldn't see the girls, but I knew they were probably prostitutes. I cleared my throat, but that didn't get his attention. "Ezio!" I said. He turned sharp and looked at me. "How long have I been out?" I asked as he shut the door.

"This just day two." He replied and sat down on the bed next to me. "You really should've been more careful, you know some of them have bows." He scolded. I sat up and rolled my eyes. "Anyways, I'm going to go with you to Uncle Mario's estate, you can finish healing there." He stood up, and began to pack things.

"I'm not going back! I just got into the city, and we're safe down here, so I can finish healing here." I jumped when I felt a light smack to my face, it didn't hurt, it didn't even move my head, just got my attention. I had lost my place again, not that Ezio and I were ever very formal, but I was being disrespectful to my leader. "I'm sorry." I mumbled.

"It's okay." He said gruffly going back to his work. "I'm too busy with the brotherhood to be able to watch you constantly and there are too many Templar soldiers for me to not worry about you in the city. And don't promise you won't go above ground because I know the minute you can even limp you'll be headed back up." He cut me off.

"Fine." I huffed crossing my arms like a child, there was no real use in fighting him, I would end up doing what he wanted anyways. "But I can pack my own things." I grumbled and moved to sit up in bed, I hissed at the pain but hopped down landing on my good leg.

Me and Ezio got my few things packed, and got me in my cloak, it took us a while to make it back up to the surface thanks to my leg, but we made it eventually. "They're going to be looking for someone with a hurt leg, so try and walk as best you can." Ezio whispered as we turned onto a busy street. We both pulled up our hood.

It was painful, and slow going, but we made it out of the gates, I broke the act as soon as we were out of sight of the gaurds. "Easy, easy." Ezio said catching me and holding me up. "Let's get you one a horse." He said and strapped my bag on the saddle. He helped me mount the medium sized arabian and then mounted his own, chestnut horse. "Let's go." He said and trotted off towards his uncles. I sighed but followed him, getting out of the crowded gate.

It was full days ride to Mario's which was not easy, and was not gentle on my wound. "I think I would've been better off to just stay in the city." I grumbled as we road through a field. "Because this is incredibly painful, and what if some of the Templars saw us and are planning on ambushing us." I was grabbing at straws for a reason to make my point.

"That's ridiculous, you and I could outrun them easily, and your leg is fine, it may hurt, but I bandaged it well, so it shouldn't get infected or anything." He chuckled, but did still take a moment to scan the area. "We'll be there in just a few hours, can you wait until then, or do we need to take a break."

I bit my lip, honestly, I did need a break, but I wasn't about to admit to that. "No, I can make it." I said in reply. He was right, as usual, we were made it to the town gate in just a few hours. "Finally." I mumbled and hefted myself off of the horse, landing a little too hard on my bad leg.

I tensed, and leaned agains the animal for a minute, regaining bearings. "Are you okay?" Ezio asked me, seeing me leaning against the horse. "Mario doesn't like horses inside of the town, but I can help you walk." He offered me. I shook my head standing up straight.

"I can do this, it's just a little sore from the ride." I explained and picked up my bag, limping into the fortified town. It was small but it was perfect for the brotherhood and the people that lived here were happy and free. The crime rate was low, and those living there were treated fairly. If only the Templars weren't so prideful the would be able to see how to treat citizens.

Making it through town wasn't too painful, but then we came to the large staircase leading up to the main house. "Ezio." I said staring up the hill, everything in me wanted to not ask my master for help, but I knew that I needed, and knew that he would've been mad if I tried to walk up them, and hurt myself further. "I made need some assistance." I mumbled.

Ezio chuckled, turned around and picked me up suddenly. "You are so stubborn the only thing that can force you to request help is the idea of death." He said shaking his head. "Admit it, if I weren't here you would have tried to walk up these yourself." We were now at the top of the steps and I wiggled out of his grip jumping to the ground.

"Thank you." Was all I said in reply turning and trying to limp with as much dignity as I could to the entrance. "I come back to Florence as soon as I'm healed correct?" I asked turning around for a moment once I realized he wasn't following me inside.

"Yes, I'll wait there for you." He promised me. I grinned back at him and entered the estate.
