Percy P.O.V.
Percy stood uncomfortably in the grand doorway with the rest of his friends. Resisting the urge to twirl his lethal pen that resided in his pocket, Percy let his blonde partner take the lead.
She was, after all, much better at completing coherent sentences when facing regular mortals.
You'd think that'd get easier after facing a titan who wanted to take over the world (cliché much?).
Realizing he wasn't paying as much attention as he should have to what the scary yet sweet blonde was saying, he tuned in. (That's not to say he was totally ignorant. He knew all the obvious exits of the massive room, including windows. He also knew who looked like they could hold their own in a fight which seemed to be most of those surrounding him.)
"...and we are terribly sorry to disrupt and disgrace your welcoming speech. Our flight was delayed."
That was half true. Blackjack and most of the other pegasi had no problem flying them from New York to Virginia. But Death Breath just had to fall off and, in order to not die, shadow travel to safety. The problem being no one knew where he was exactly, and everyone knowing he ended up in Asia a lot when he panicked. It had taken some time before Nico had finally rejoined the group of eight.
Glancing around the team that so obviously stuck out, Percy actually felt a sort of calmness was over him. Annabeth was here. He could try to connect and build a more solid friendship with Nico and Thalia. The Stolls were sure to bring entertainment during the year. He could get to know Katie better, and Clarisse wasn't trying to shove his head down a toliet anymore. (Not that it would work anyway.)
Annabeth had finished her little speech, and a woman who Percy assumed was the principal addressed them, "These are the new students to be joining the juniors or the 5th years.* Please welcome them and help them in anyway that they require. And transfers from Mist Mountain University, welcome to Gallagher Academy."
There wasn't one guy sitting at any of the tables filled with bewildered and shocked girls. Whispering to himself, Percy prayed,
"Di immortals, I hope Chiron knows what he's doing."

I am so sorry for not updating. I really have no excuse. At first, I wanted to figure out the plot and then I guess I just spiraled into a vortex of excuses and laziness. And if this seems short it's because I want to do this part in Cammie's POV and I'm still figuring out a plot... I just felt really bad and then motivated to finish this. And I will finish it!
***I guess GG is really AU because I can't find a good spot in the books to do this in
