I know it's been awhile. I took a little break from fanfiction, but now I'm going to try to get back into it.
Glad to see people are interested in the story. Hope you enjoy this chapter as much as the last one, let's begin.
"No." Kara began, refusing to accept what she heard. "That's impossible."
"It would explain why he was different." J'onn added. "If he really is a Kryptonian God, it would explain why he was immune to the sun grenade, and stronger than the average Kryptonian."
"Did he do anything else out of the ordinary?" Alex asked her sister.
Kara sighed. "He was able to cut the palm of my hand with an ordinary pocketknife." Kara confessed, getting looks from everyone in the room. "Ok. I'll admit, he was far from and ordinary Kryptonian. But just because he's claiming to be Rao, hardly makes him Rao. It's like when someone on the street is claiming to be God."
"Well, technically, he's not claiming to be Rao. It's just Kirana who's saying that she works for..." Winn began, only to get a glare from Kara. "Sorry."
"I just can't believe this." Kara said aloud.
"So Mon-El." Winn began as he turned his head to the Daxamite. "What does the future say about our Kryptonian God?"
"It's hard to say." Mon-El confessed. "In about 400 years, most of the past records are destroyed. All I can say is that the Legion has never come across any evidence to suggest a Kryptonian God ever ruled Earth."
"No offense, but that's not exactly helpful." Alex stated.
"I'm sorry." Mon-El apologized.
"Look, even if this man isn't Rao, he is still a threat." J'onn stated. "Now, I'd like us to continue our interrogation of Kirana and see if we can't learn more."
"I'll do it." Kara volunteered.
"Kara, I don't know if..." J'onn began.
"I can do this." Kara stated, getting a nod from J'onn.
Kara entered the room alone to find Kirana still behind the glass prison with red sun emitters reining down on her. When she saw Kara, Kirana couldn't help but chuckle.
"Still don't believe me?" she asked.
"Let's say that I do, how did you and your brothers end up working for Rao?" Kara asked.
Kirana sighed deeply. "Me, my brothers, and my parents were off Krypton when it exploded. Somehow, the death of our planet awakened Rao from some imprisonment. He found us, and he took an interest in us. Or rather, me and my brothers. Because he murdered our mother and father in front of us." Kirana said lowly near the end.
Concern appeared on Kara's face after hearing her story.
"Why did he take an 'interest' in you?" Kara asked.
"We were children. Young. Full of potential. Rao wanted to mold us into his warriors."
"And you just submitted?"
"We didn't have much of a choice."
Confusion appear on Kara's face after hearing that. "What is that suppose to mean?"
Kirana sighed. "I don't know how exactly. Maybe it's because he created the Kryptonian race, and therefore he somehow holds power over us. Or maybe some other reason. But somehow, Rao holds the power to control any and every Kryptonian."
"I don't follow." Kara confessed.
"When Rao desires more... obedience from a Kryptonian, he somehow activates this... voice. This alluring, captivating voice that is impossible to resist. It's like everything just slips away, and you want nothing more than to please that voice. One time, my younger brother Loth got this stupid idea to use the special glue we found on another world on Rao's mouth, so he wouldn't be able to talk, and therefore control us."
"And it didn't work." Kara concluded.
"Hell of an understatement. And when Rao learned of this, he wanted to punish Loth. But not by hurting him physically. He forced me and my older brother Are to remain seated, while he forced Are to beat us. It went on for hours and hours, and I can still remember the endless tears falling down my little brother's cheeks, having no control over the situation." Kirana's voice began to break at the end.
"I'm sorry." Kara sympathized. "Are you under his control now?"
Kirana shook her head. "After awhile, Rao concluded that we were 'wise' enough to know not to disobey him again."
"If Rao is so powerful, then why did he want you three?" Kara asked.
"I guess even God needed his angels to keep him sane." Kirana answered.
"When Rao had me, he was able to cut my skin with an ordinary pocketknife. How?"
"Another one of his abilities. He can temporary interfere with the yellow sun absorption of a Kryptonian if he makes physical contact with them."
"You kidnapped me because Rao wanted my blood. Why?"
"Every since Rao was freed, he had us searching for any Kryptonian survivors that were descendants of the 13 original Houses of Krypton. Ah, Ar, Do, El, Es, Et, Lo, Mai, Ra, Ro, Ur, Us and Zod. We found and took the blood of all 13 houses besides El. So, Rao either needs you or your cousin, Kal-El."
"Why does Rao want the blood?" Kara asked.
Before Kirana could answer, she wan interrupted by Kara's phone. Kara looked at her phone to see she was getting a call from Eliza.
Kara then accepted the call and began. "Eliza. I'm sorry, now's not a good time..."
"You might want to reconsider." Are's voice said from the other side.
Kara's eyes widened and her jaw dropped after hearing his voice.
"What did you do to Eliza?" Kara asked with a little anger in her voice.
"She's alright. But if you want to see your adoptive mother again, return our sister. Meet us by the docks with our sister alone in half an hour." Are demanded before hanging up the phone.
"Let me guess, my brother, Are?" Kirana said, guessing correctly.
Prison
"Lights out Coville." the prison guard said as he turned off the lights and walked to the end of the hall.
Coville just laid down on his bed closing his eyes, until he heard something from the end of the hall.
He stood and walked to the bars of his cell to see Rao.
"Who are you?" Coville asked.
"Your God." Rao answered right before he tore off the bars of Coville's cell with his bar hands.
"And, what do you want with me?" Coville asked.
"To give you what you crave. Purpose, direction, order. I can give you a higher calling, and assist me in saving your world." Rao answered.
Coville didn't take much time before he stated his answer.
"Where do we start?" he asked.
Rao smiled. "First, we need to release some of my old servants from their captivity."
Docks
Kara and Kirana stood in the middle of the docks, while Kara paced back and forth, impatiently.
"Someone could use a lesson in patience." Are said as he, Loth, and Eliza made their way to the female Kryptonians.
Kara turned to face them and demanded. "Let Eliza go."
"Let our sister go." Are demanded back.
"Are, just let the human go." Kirana pleaded with her brother, getting the older Kryptonian to let Eliza go.
This caused Kara to let Kirana go, and both the former captives ran to their saviors.
Kara wrapped her arms around Eliza, as Kirana wrapped hers around her brothers.
"I'm so sorry." Kara apologized to Eliza's ear.
"It's alright." Eliza stated.
When Kara separated from the hug, she face the Kryptonian siblings and said to them.
"I know you have no love for Rao. You could help us beat him."
But Are shook his head. "There is not beating him. You can either leave, submit, or lose everything to him. We're choosing option number one. I hope you make the right choice."
With that said, the siblings flew to the sky and disappeared.
DEO
When Eliza entered, Alex wrapped her arms around her mother.
"I'm fine Alex." Eliza insisted.
"I know." Alex responded.
When they ended their hug, J'onn began to speak.
"Well now we need to know where we go from here."
"If Rao is planning something that requires El blood, then you and Kal should stay out of his way, until we can make a weapon against him." Mon-El stated.
"I agree." Alex didn't argue
"So do I." J'onn added. "But it's hard to stop a plan when we don't even know exactly what his endgame is."
"Then we'll just have to be smart and careful." Kara suggested.
"The two things you're not." Alex said sarcastically.
Unknown
Are, Kirana, and Loth were in an old, poorly lit room, where Are was packing one of many bags.
"Where are we going to go?" Loth asked.
"Anywhere that's far from this planet." Are replied.
"Really? Because I find that very disappointing." Rao said as he entered from behind the three.
They immediately turned around to face him, with shivers running down their spines.
"I always regarded the three of you as something like children to me." Rao confessed.
"Yeah, because every happy family involves watching your real parents die in front of you." Kirana said sarcastically.
"I made stronger. Smarter."
"You took everything from us!" Are yelled right before he lunged at the god. But he was easily overpowered when Rao wrapped his hand around Are's throat.
"You always were the unruly one." Rao said to Are.
Kirana and Loth were about to attack as well, until Rao turned to them.
"Stay where you are and don't move a muscle." Rao ordered in a voice that the two couldn't resist.
They couldn't move a muscle. They just stood, with no will other than obeying the voice.
Rao then turned his gaze back to Are and said to him.
"I take no joy in what happens now."
Rao's eyes lit up, and his heat vision was directly aimed at Are's eyes, and almost immediately melted through them, killing the Kryptonian.
Rao the dropped Are's body like it was nothing, and Kirana and Loth could do nothing in their state, but shed tears, which they did.
Rao then walked up to the two and said to them.
"It's been a hell of a ride you two, but now I must continue my journey without you."
Rao then sent one hand each into their chests, and ripped out their hearts.
The two fell to the ground dead.
"Was all of that really necessary." Coville asked as he entered the room.
"Believe or not, it was one of the least bloodiest ways of ending this." Rao replied. "Kryptonians don't die easily, even when it comes to their God."
"If I may ask, what happens now?"
"First of all, clean up this mess and burn their bodies. Afterwards, we can begin spreading me will to you people." Rao responded with a grin.
And that's the chapter.
What do you think Rao's planning?
