I'm so glad you guys liked the first chapter! I decided to continue with it and I hope you guys continue to love it. I don't own any of the characters except for Carson, Dawson, Izzy, and Jax.
No one had thought that Dawson would be the one to betray them, kill their allies, Not even his own twin sister. Carson was still in shock at the fact he did what he did, he always was by her side, but for some reason she thought that must be what he was talking about when he said Shadow.
Laying in her bed, Jax right beside her enjoying his charging (sleeping time) was disturbed when Carson woke up screaming. Hand shooting out trying to reach for whatever was in her nightmare, Jax zips in front of her.
"Carson? It's ok we're back home, nothing can get you," he says swaying in front of her
Blinking a few times, lowering her hand she finally realized what Jax was saying. Plopping on her back, she stared at the ceiling. "I can't take this anymore, I need to get back out on the field," she huffs
"That would have to be taken up with you leaders," Silently stating she would have to talk to Cayde
Muttering under her breathe she gets up to get ready for the day, meaning showering put on some nice clean clothes. After her shower, she felt more refreshed than she had in days.
"Alright Jax let's see if we can get back out there and stop Dawson," punching her fist into her hand.
Walking out of her room she starts to strut with a mission. Turning the corner, she bumps right into someone's hard chest.
"Well you made it out of your room earlier than I expected," chuckles Cayde holding her by the shoulders.
"Cayde," she gasps out, her face becoming more red
"Carson, you looked like you were on a mission what's the rush?" he asked grinning
"Cayde, I would like to, No, We would like to get back out there," She states confidently
Eyes raised, he knew she was going to get antsy sooner or later, he just hoped later. He wanted to make sure she was up to full speed, and with the look in her eye she was. Sighing he rubbed his neck, "Alright angel follow me,"
She grins hugging him from behind, "Thank you Cayde,"
After being debriefed, they hopped right back on their ship and headed towards the moon. There were a few comrades that went missing a while back, so they sent another hunter in but have yet to here from him.
"Carson, I know you like to fly fast, but don't you think we should just slow just a tad bit? He asks
She was always a reckless flyer which made Jax nervous at times when she misses an asteroid by a hair.
"Don't be such a worry wart, the sooner we get there the sooner we find our missing comrades," She grins
Landing safely on the moon, Carson cocked her gun she was ready for anything that came at her.
"From my scans I have their last locations, but it looks like the hive and the fallen are having a tussle with each other," Jax states
"Great let's get this started,"
Taking down the fallen and the hive she came toe to toe with another group of the fallen with their captain. Shooting, slicing Carson was getting quick to the captain when someone else beat her to it. Looking up from the top of the building, was their guy they sent out a few weeks out. Jumping down, she realized who it was, "When they told me they haven't heard from their last guy, I wondered what could be taking so long. Lance I'm still wondering what is taking so long,"
"Sorry princess, there has been some bumps in the road," he chuckles
"Meaning he's been getting to cocky," states his Ghost
"Hey, they just snuck up on me the last time," he scoffs
"What's the bumps?" she asks
"Dawson decided to take our comrades hostage, trying to get all info he can from them and their ghost," he exclaims
Freezing for two seconds, she shakes it off quickly, "Well let's go get them back," she grins
They walked to their destination, from what they could tell their comrades were, chained up and beaten. Their Ghost nowhere to be found.
"Wait here," Carson whispers before disappearing
Setting up explosives, she snuck back up to Lance who shook his head at her plan. Lance playing the bait, caught the attention of Dawson and the fallen. The Fallen chased Lance to their destination. Grinning she presses the button which sent a chain reaction of kabooms! Dawson coming into the view, he made his way to Lance. Carson snuck behind to the comrades, but when she got there they were dead. Clenching her fist, she found their ghost quickly setting them in her pack. She was going to take them home and burry them, that is the right thing to do, having their ship right on the other side of the building, she helped all three of them into there.
Hearing a long bang meant Lance was still fighting Dawson and it was time for her to get to that fight. Pulling out her pistol she aims from behind Dawson and shot. Hitting him right in the leg, he yells out in pain looking back to see her.
"Ready for the real fight? Sorry Lance but I think I can take it from here," she yells
"Carson! You think you can stop me huh? We know you don't have the guts to kill me," he laughs
Running at him, the fight between siblings starts. Lance stood back just incase of back up, "Lance I have bad news, the Hive and the Fallen heard those explosives and are on their way here," states his Ghost
"Shit we got to get out of here," he growls looking back at Carson he just got slammed into a rock
Cocking his gun he shoots hitting Carson right through the shoulder and setting into Dawson's shoulder. Whipping her head around she glares him down.
"We have a swarm coming in let's go!" he yells
"You shot me!" she yells running back to him
Hearing screeching, she turns and sees the hive coming for them, it was time to go for reals! Setting in the ship they take off right there. Getting back to base, Carson said her goodbyes to Lance saying she would see him soon. Hearing a knock on her door, Cayde waltz right in.
"I'm proud of you," he states leaning against the door frame
"Thanks, I wanted to stay behind and deal with him, but that will have to be for another day," she sighs
Pulling her into a hug, he kisses her forehead, "You did the right thing Angel,"
Today may have not been the day, but at least it was the day they got some comrades back, even if they were dead.
