A/N: The second Poem is Based of a mix of Pinocchio and The Avengers. The concept of freedom being what one desires. In one story it's the joy and relief that the period of being bound is over is a gift. In the other it's something taken through force albeit freedom it's freedom through evil means. But is freedom all it's cracked up to be? Sometimes without the walls and string that hold our world together we find that the freedom we sought isn't all we hoped it to be.
Puppet
I was bound but now I'm free,
There are no longer strings on me,
Now I'm caught in a web of lies,
Imprisoned under painted skies,
I'm not bound but I'm not free,
No strings, just lies hold onto me,
A cage of deceit formed from your mind,
Holding back the truths I cant find,
I thought I knew what it meant to be free,
But the strings were there to support me,
To hold me away from the truth below,
From all the pain, hurt and woe,
I was bound but now I'm free,
There are no longer strings on me,
No tether to hold me and keep me strong,
I thought I understood freedom, I was wrong.
I'm want to be bound I don't want to be free,
I want to go back to when strings protected me,
Freedom is a lie that blinded my eyes,
As I stared up to false skies,
The truth is that we can never be free,
It's not strings but people that control me,
The freedom I sought was one very shallow,
Without hope and heart.. Options narrow,
But I made my choice and cut my string,
Now I'm nothing but a broken thing,
The string that held my life together,
Wasn't not something I should sever,
You too are bound and could also be free,
But please consider the strings that you see,
Attachment and feelings all tied as one,
Please don't lose them as I now have done.
