Prompt #2: Hundreds and Eyes.

'Tis a ghastly place, Gimli thought. And he was used to living underground. But Aragorn had insisted on coming here. And he wasn't going to wait outside now, was he? And anyway, Legolas was going as well and he was an elf. It would be unheard of for an elf to travel underground leaving a dwarf on the surface.

'I think I see something up ahead.' Aragorn whispered. And he was right.

The cramped, damp, rocky tunnel the company had been walking down suddenly opened up into a cavern. Not natural, but man-made, as they were about to find out. Aragorn waved around his torch, and in the dim light, exposed an assortment of man-made structures. From pillars, to runes, all carved into the hard stone walls with expertise. Now this is what the inside of a mountain should look like! Gimli thought with satisfaction.

Then he felt it.

It felt like hundreds of eyes were watching his every move. Then, to confirm that feeling, hundreds of luminous, ghostly figures seeped out of the walls, surrounding them...
