PRIEST SETH/SET™

Congratulations on your purchase of our patented PRIEST SETH/SET™ unit! We wish you many fun-filled years with this complex unit. To avoid damages and to make the full use of your potential favorite new 'toy', please follow these instructions carefully.

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS:

NAME: Priest/Shinkan Seth/Seto/Set, Seth, Lord Seth, or Pharaoh Seth (this last title should only be used if your unit is delivered with the Millennium Pendant™ in his possession. If not, he won't remember this title as those memories have not been programmed in yet.) We think he prefers SETH™, though. That's what we always call him.

SEX: Male

MANUFACTURER: Kaibacorp. Industries Ltd. (The same genii who brought you the SETO KAIBA™ unit!)

DATE OF MANUFACTURE: October 25, 3000 B.C. (Give or take a few years, but he's probably somewhere around sixteen to twenty years old.) (Yes, he has the same birthday as his double, though he's about two years older.)

LOCATION OF MANUFACTURE: Ancient Egypt, somewhere near the palace city of Thebes

HEIGHT: 6'1''

WEIGHT: Normal range for someone his age and height

ACCESSORIES:

1(one) Millennium Rod™ (Absolutely Essential. No Bearer feels complete without their respective Millennium Item!)

3(three) sets of linen robes [1(one) set from S1 flashbacks, 1(one) set from S2+3 flashbacks, 1(one) set from S5.]

3(three) pairs of sandals

1(one) DiaDhank (ancient model Duel-Disk™)

1(one) Translation Device™ (This little gem will be on his neck just below his ear like a small Band-Aid™, and allows whatever he speaks to be translated to your native tongue, and whatever he hears or reads to be translated to the ancient Egyptian language of the nobility. It is removable, and is designed to camouflage with his skin tone. After a few days you'll even forget it's there.)

PROGRAMMING:

Your PRIEST SETH/SET™ unit comes with a variety of functions and modes that will be sure to amaze you! The following are just some of the many uses that SETH™ has.

Sacred Guardian/Bearer: (default) As High Priest of the pharaoh and wielder of the Millennium Rod, SETH™ knows what it means to be responsible. He is strong, brave and fiercely loyal to his friends and those he considers family. He knows that he's one of his king's most powerful Bearers, and he's proud of it! As a Bearer, it is his sworn duty to protect the pharaoh and his people, and he will fight for them at any cost. (This includes you, too!)

Sorcerer/Shadow Duelist: (default) Your unit was (and likely still is) one of the strongest duelists of the ancient world, and was his pharaoh's greatest rival and friend. He does tend to let his pride get in the way, and his battles are almost always extremely fierce. Being a sorcerer/duelist of the Shadows, he casts the spells and traps himself and summons the real creatures from their home in the Dominion of the Beasts. No using holograms for him!

Pharaoh: (locked) This Mode can only be activated with the installation of your unit's 'Shadow War' memories (sold separately), and the death of his pharaoh, fellow Bearers, and KISARA™ unit. It also requires the switch of his Millennium Items from the Rod™ to the Pendant™, and the destruction of a YAMI BAKURA/ZORC™ unit. We advise very careful thought before unlocking this Mode, because once you do, it will be entirely impossible to return him to his former Modes. Again, THIS CHANGE IS PERMANENT AND CANNOT BE UNDONE.

Reborn: (master-locked) this Mode can only be unlocked after your SETH™ unit 'shuts down' after 'Pharaoh' Mode has been activated, and 'sleeps' for an extended period of time. He will think he has passed on to the Field of Reeds- or Aaru (Heaven)- and will both remember everything from his time as pharaoh and act as he did as a Bearer. When you 'reboot' him and introduce him to other units from the past or present, he will think of his new existence as a 'second chance' granted him by the gods, and will happily settle into his new life with his family and friends, old and new.

COMPATIBILITY:

Your PRIEST SETH/SET™ unit is normally polite to everyone he meets, and could potentially get along with just about anyone if given the time to get to know them. However, there may be some he gets along with more or less than others.

KISARA: Extremely compatible. This unit is the love of your unit's life and the human vessel of the powerful White Dragon whose might is said to rival that of the gods. She is sweet, brave, kind, determined and beautiful, and SETH™ loves her with all his heart. (Aww!) For full details, please visit the Owner's Manual and Maintenance Handbook for KISARA™!

YAMI YUGI/ _ _ _ _ : Compatible. This unit is your unit's pharaoh and- though he doesn't know it- his paternal cousin. He is the legendary king who could command even the gods in battle, and controls the Shadows with greater ease than any of his predecessors before him. He is also your unit's greatest rival in duels and his best friend out of battle- indeed, they are almost like brothers. (Cousins. Close enough.)

AKHENADEN: Mostly compatible (up to a point). This elder Bearer is your unit's mentor and teacher and taught him everything it means to be High Priest. The first Bearer of the Millennium Eye™, AKHENADEN™ units are actually the father of SETH™ units, but abandoned them when the Items were forged to protect SETH™ and his mother. After AKHENADEN™ joined with ZORC™ however, SETH™ refused his father and remained loyal to his cousin.

AKEFIA/T. : Not compatible. This unit is responsible for the near destruction of Egypt, the corruption of your unit's father AKHENADEN™, the death of his fellow Bearers and cousin, and- indirectly- the death of his only love, KISARA™. SETH™ units loathe this unit with every fiber of their being. Avoid interaction with this unit at all costs, unless you are able to acquire a replacement unit for your friend. There is- however- an exception in this case. If your SETH™ unit is in 'Reborn' mode, he will eventually come to forgive a repentant BAKURA™ unit. Eventually. We have a Manual for this unit now! See chapter 7!

DIRECTIONS FOR ASSEMBLY:

When you first open the package, your PRIEST SETH/SET™ unit will most likely be asleep. This is due to the extreme security measures we need to take when delivering this dreamy sorcerer to your doorstep. We usually do it in the dead of night, to avoid most of the rabid fangirls. Ra knows we can't possibly avoid them all. That would be a miracle.

Your PRIEST SETH/SET™ unit will be disoriented and ask what is happening, and if you clearly explain the situation to him calmly and smoothly, he should settle into his new life relatively quickly without any problems.

CLEANING:

Your PRIEST SETH/SET™ unit is perfectly capable of keeping himself clean and well-groomed. Just supply him with a bathroom equipped with a shower or bathtub (or both); shampoo, soap, and other personal hygiene items; explain how they are used, and let him do the rest.

FEEDING AND REST:

Your PRIEST SETH/SET™ unit is certainly capable of fending for himself (after all, he did grow up in Egypt), but under normal circumstances may require gentle reminders to eat and sleep. Like his modern counterpart, SETH™ tends to be a workaholic and forget that normal people are sleeping at 2:00 am, not studying innumerable scrolls by candlelight. For best results, avoid serving fish at mealtimes, as the nobility and priests considered it to be unclean back in Egypt.

FAQs:

Q: I received a SETH/SET™ unit from you, but now he has become sullen and depressed. I've actually seen him crying a few times. What's wrong with him?

A: Oh, the poor thing! You recently programmed him with his 'Shadow War' memories, right? This has put him into 'Pharaoh' Mode. To remedy this, introduce him to a YUGI MUTOU™ unit- or even better- a YAMI YUGI/_ _ _ _™ unit. Your SETH™ unit will recognize his cousin in YAMI/_ _ _ _™, and will most likely come out of his funk- switching into his 'Reborn' Mode listed above.

Q: My SETH™ unit suddenly just attacked my friend's RYOU BAKURA™ unit, and he refuses to apologize! What should I do?

A: Oh dear. We were afraid this might happen. Your SETH™ unit mistook poor Roo for his YAMI™ and attempted a bit of payback for everything he did in ancient Egypt. If you explain to him carefully the difference between a yami and a hikari, he'll most likely see the error of his ways and go apologize as soon as possible. If he doesn't, then ask a YAMI YUGI/_ _ _ _ _™ unit to explain things. That'll clear it up for him. If your friend needs to repair their RYOU™ unit, we're having a sale on unit remedies starting at 50% off. And we apologize for not explaining this in our FAQs sooner.

If you have any other questions, please submit your inquiry in the form of a review for this chapter. Our staff are always standing by and will be happy to answer any of your questions. [Seriously, I check my email at least twice a day, and always 'squee!' with happiness when I see I get a review!]
