She shouldn't be ashamed that her favourite colour isn't the oft-praised Conté blue. Indeed, suffocated by that particular shade all her life, one might even expect it. But too often, Kalasin looks down at the silver trimmings to her sapphire gowns, and thinks bitterly if she should be sidelined all her life – just like the colour she loves.

Hearing her mumbled confession one night, Roald glances down at the colour he wears with pride and finds the most apt words he can:

"They compliment each other, you know."

Then he reaches for her hand, and in that she is content.
