Chapter Two

Kagome smiled at the Doctor as he handed over the paper she would take to school to show the results of her physical. She was happy she got it done, and now all she had to do was sign up for the tennis club.

Her sister had already signed up for the team at the start of the year, but she had waited to learn tennis on her own. Kagome wanted to make sure she knew all the basics of the game and could hit the ball before she joined.

She had started tennis because of her Grandmother was the Coach of the Boys Tennis Team. She had seen them play and it has inspired her. The game was intense and the moves she saw. It made her want to learn and play. She wanted to be on the court and be facing an opponent with all her heart.

Her grandmother was overjoyed that Kagome wanted to learn the sport she loved so much. That and it reminded her of the son that had passed away. Kagome looked a lot like her father while Sakuno, her sister, looked like their mother.

"Thank you for your time." Kagome bowed as she shook herself out of her thoughts. Giving the Doctor a nod she left. She could head home now and on Monday she could join the tennis team.

As she rounded the corner she bumped into someone...again! Looking up she saw the same boy she ran into earlier. 'Today isn't my day' Kagome thought as she caught herself from falling.

"Ah! Sorry! I seem to be getting in your way today." Kagome gave a small bow, an apologetic smile on her face as she glanced up at the boy who helped her earlier.

The boy just gave a soft laugh, shaking his head, "It is fine. Don't worry about it." He glanced at the young girl in front of him. She was amusing when she was embarrassed.

"Did you find the room you were looking for alright?" the boy, Yukimura, asked Kagome as she got up out of her bow and looked up at him. She was patient and looked somewhat like the porcelain dolls his younger sister liked to collect.

Smiling Kagome nodded, "Yes! Thank you again."

Yukimura gently put his hand on her head giving it a pat, "No problem. I take it everything went well then?"

Kagome blushed as he pats her head before nodded when he withdrew his hand, "Yes, It was a simple physical so I could join the tennis team at school."

Yukimura's eyes lit up at the mention of tennis, "I see. That is good. Tennis is a good sport."

Tilting her head to the side she blinked, "Does Yukimura-San like tennis then?" She guesses he was like Fuji, he may look like someone who doesn't play sports but secretly very good at it.

A secretive smile came Yukimura's lips, "You could say that..." He paused looking into the blue eyes of the girl, "...I play on my school's tennis team."

Kagome smiled brightly at this, "I hope to do the same soon. The girls team isn't as good as our boys team, though...the girls tend to like to watch the boys more than actually play..." It was sad too, some of the girls could really be good if they took the time to actually train and not look pretty for their crush.

Yukimura's lip twitched, he knew that feeling. A Lot of the girls would come and watch them play instead of actually training in their tennis skills. Even the Girls tennis team captain came and watched them. It was sad that the girls couldn't put as much effort into playing tennis instead of boy watching, " I can see where you are coming from. The girls from my school tend to do the same. There are a few who are actually dedicated to tennis, but sadly the boys tennis team has a lot of admirers who come every day and watch us play."

Kagome sighed again at this, "And that is one reason I am somewhat dreading joining the tennis team at Seigaku..."

"If you like tennis just play, and if worse comes to worse there are good street tennis courts to play on." Yukimura encouraged her as he saw the look of disappointment seep into her eyes. This girl was interesting all right, her emotions were so straightforward. It was refreshing.

Kagome nodded, this boy was so easy to talk to. That is something she wasn't used too, "Lets hope it doesn't come to that..." She trailed off, her thoughts going to the tennis team she had watched practice after school.

Yukimura gave a hum, "If worse comes to worse, how about you call me and we can practice together." He was interested to see this girl play. There was just something about her.

Kagome blinked in shock, "..You don't have to do that...I am just a beginner and don't want to waste your time."

The indigo eyed boy laughed, "It is no problem. I wouldn't mind giving you pointers." He paused, "Do you have a cell phone?"

Kagome nodded pulling it out of her bag and holding it out to him. If he was offering to give her lessons, she didn't want to really turn that down. She wanted to be a good player, and would take all the help people would give her.

Taking the cell phone, Yukimura put in his cell number then sent a text to himself, so he would also have the girls number, "Feel free to message me with any questions about tennis."

Kagome nodded, taking the phone back, a blush on her face. It seems her trip to the hospital was a good thing.

She made a new friend, too bad she didn't know this friend would turn her world upside down.
