Velma
Velma would not describe herself as superstitious. No, she couldn't be, she was much too logical. But, she had noticed how bad timing or events seemed to coincide with the mention of Ben Ravencroft. She had since put the incident behind her and was now fair game to be teased about him. Though, every time he came up, something strange seemed to happen.
The first time had not been long after the deemed "Ben-incident," as the gang liked to call it. One of the guys had mentioned him while discussing their current mystery, and within a matter of seconds, a tire on the Mystery Machine popped and was flat before they had even pulled over. Bizarre dealings continued after the tire. Daphne's heel broke, Fred nearly lost his ascot to the wind, Shaggy burned himself with coffee, all after the mention of his name.
Velma was not sure if anyone else had noticed; it was all just a silly coincident, right? Yet, even though she had put the events of that specific trip where it belonged in her past, she could not help but feel that the name Ben had take on a negative connotation. She wanted nothing to do with Bens. No Benjamins. No Bennys. Velma had no desire to have any more Bens in her life for a long time, she had her fill.
