Curse of the wave: Ghost Stories part 1
I'm back from the void! Now that I'm taking a small break from college I can work on my stories a bit more. For this once, I will be skipping the reviews so we can go straight to the action!
One last thing, BeastofTruth does not own Naruto or League of Legends. Nor do I own the music that is used.
Enjoy!
"I remember when my mother told me this story. Just like I tell you now, Mito, and like thousands of Uzumaki's have been told before you. This was before the villages, before the Senju and the Uchiha talked about a village, even before many other clans you see today existed. Many of the ninja's where just starting to move out of their vagabond lifestyles into compounded lifestyles. The Uzumaki clan was one of many. I could not tell where we had taken residence, for this was before we had set up our village in the land of Whirlpool's. Some traditions say that it was in the Land of Tea; however there is no proof of that.
Remember, Mito, there were two things that constantly occupied a ninja's clan mind back then, the bloodline and various superstitions. This is why a clan fought, to protect the bloodline or to please an unseen force. However, this did not mean that money was passed so that ninja's could do horrible things; many ninja used this as a source of income.
The Uzumaki where no different."
Aki Uzumaki looked at the area around him with disgust. The bodies of priests littered the temple floor. As the clan head of the Uzumaki, he was expected to place all personal beliefs and feelings aside when on the job. He couldn't, however, shake the feeling that something was wrong with this scene. He quickly shook his head, causing his bright red hair to shack with him, he need to expel such thoughts. He was doing this for his clan and his future family. He smiled at the thought of his beloved Airi carrying his child. He hoped that he would be with her for the birth, but knowing that he has to meet at the check point that isn't likely. As he went to leave he felt as though something was watching him with hatred. He turned his back to look at the statue in the center of the room. A great bronze figure standing three meters tall with a canine like appearance, it had a sly smirk on its face. With the shadows of the room, however, it did not look happy. It looked angry. Aki left without a word, but words were said on the other side after he left.
Aki Uzumaki had desecrated the temple of Inari.
That is where it began. The Uzumaki clan split the blood of followers on a gods alter. Inari was a fun loving god, but this was not something he would stand and no amount of prayers the clan head said on the way home would protect him….. If he was what Inari wanted.
If you take anything from this children, take this. Inari is no fool, as a great trickster, he has one thing that you do not want an angry god to have. Patience. If he wants revenge, he is willing to create and wait for the perfect opportunity.
Back then, gods where credited for more things than they are now. Things that they wished would talk place in the physical world as it was believed. People believed they had a hand in everything. From a blessing…..
Aki rushed to his home after meeting his provider. He saw his fellow Uzumaki's standing outside his tent area.
"Brothers! Sisters! Am I late? Has my child been born?"
His closest relative, his own sister Chiemi, stepped forward.
"Yes, for the birth was an hour ago, but rejoice brother, for you have a son."
Aki Had never had this feeling in his life! A son, someone to carry on his name and lead the clan to greatness. That feeling he had leaving that temple was nothing to worry about anyways. However, the feeling came back. He noticed other Uzumaki's start to surround him, their muscles tensing as if they were ready to restrain him at any minute.
"Sister, what are you not telling me?"
Chiemi, his beautiful sister, started to fidget with her kimono as the male Uzumaki's tensed their muscles even more ready to pounce.
"Your child...is not normal. We do not know what's wrong with him."
Aki had grown a surprised look before his face grew stern.
"Move. Let me see my wife and son."
"Brother, I do not think that is…"
"I said MOVE!"
A sudden explosion of chakra and killer intent made the male Uzumaki's back away and Chiemi to fall to her knees. He quickly scanned the scene with his blue eyes before he walked past his sister and opened the tent flap.
…To a curse.
The scene he was met with horrified him. His wife, once full of life and a rosy color to her cheeks, was pale and was weakly crying his name on the make shift bed made of blackest. The handmaids seemed to be ignoring her, in favor of washing something and furious that want they were trying to wash would not come off. When one of them noticed him they moved apart so he could see want they were trying to clean.
A baby, hair white as snow and eye's pale as a dead man's, covered in the blood of his mother.
Perhaps that was some type of omen. He came into this world covered in blood and a look of a dead man. The clan was scared of what this might mean, so the clan head and his wife took the child to an old shaman to see want the shaman can divine of the child.
The shaman looked at who decided to stop by his hut. A couple, the man about twenty-five with blazing red hair and blue eyes, and a women about twenty-three, with black eyes and skin that seemed pale and sickly. The women was carrying a bundle that she seemed to shake every once in a while.
"It's not often I get visitors. If you did not ask me for help in such urgency, I might not have let you in."
The shaman's hut was filled with many items and mysteries, ranging from odd plants to books with unknown languages. The shaman was short but looked full of strength left within his body. He wore simple cloth and clothes to cover himself and had a wooden staff with bells attached that rang against the staff every time he took a step. He turned his clouded eyes to see the couple sitting on wooden oak chairs in the middle of his house by the fire.
"We wouldn't have bothered you otherwise if it was not of great importance, Elder, but my wife bore me a son. What would have been a joyful moment turned into one of fear, as my son came into this world with the eyes of a dead man. It continued to grow worse, as he never cried and would just stare and one place for hours."
The shaman grew a worried look on his face. There were many evil spirits or curses that could have grabbed hold of the child.
"Have you brought the child?"
The wife nodded weakly and moved the bundle to revel what was supposed to be their bundle of joy. The shaman grew a worried look as the baby started to wake up. The baby's hair was pure white, his eyes as dead white as the parents described, and his skin pale. The shaman felt no malevolent aura from the child, but just in case he put his old leathery hand on the child's head and sent his energy through the child to see want has attached itself to the child.
His body and soul was suddenly riddled pain. He fell down as he felt the child's aura. It was full of sadness and pain but filled with warmth. He heard the screams of as he felt his soul being pulled from his body. As he fought against it he heard an evil voice talking to him calmly.
"Relax, just let go."
He fought as he heard the voice talk to him trying to get him to release his hold. As the shaman felt his will weakening, the evil feeling went away and was replaced with warmth and kindness. He heard another voice.
"I promise, together forever!"
The shaman slowly stood up, feeling the worried eyes of the parents, he started to collect his bearings before talking.
"I have some unfortunate news for you; it seems that your child has been cursed with the cruelest of godly vengeance."
The mother looked worried as the babe started to cry.
"What do you mean? What have we done?"
The shaman grew a sad, but angry look as he stared at the male Uzumaki. He pointed his leathery, bony finger at the husband.
"I've seen it. I know what you have done. You have angered the god Inari. He has placed a curse on your son. A curse that only the trickster god can think would do you justice. Your son has been cursed with love. A love that will transcend all barriers and break all laws, worldly or other worldly. He shall seek the one the Inari has bond his soul to and slay any who get in his way. He will not be the only one to give love. For love will be gifted on him, but for him to deny it, just as he will give love and one will be forced to deny it. Madness and murder will follow his path like rabid dogs. You shall be given a punishment of equal justice. The love for your clan brought about the downfall of his temple, your son's love will be the downfall of your clan."
Love, the greatest and the cruelest emotion, can make people do the most appalling of things. Ninjas kill for their love of their nation, men steal for their love of money, and people cheat on their spouses for the love of another. In the end, it is love that makes people do the cruelest of things. Maybe, if they had listened, this story would have a shorter ending. Alias, the story carries on. The parents of the child left the shaman, not heading his warnings, called him mad for saying such a contradiction. "Who ever heard of love causing death" they pondered. They went back and informed the clan that the child was normal. That it was only by some cosmic mistake that he ended up this way. How foolish they were, but no one has yet to be able to fault them. No one before the child had ever heard of such a curse or the results of being such as him would cause. We know now.
They named the child Naruto, meaning "maelstrom", in hopes that as he would bring about a great change in the clan as he grew older, and he did. With his, parents death he brought great change, in the beginning.
Naruto, age eight, gazed the halls of his newly finished clan compound. He knew more houses were going to be built for the other families and slaves within the clan but he could bring himself to care. His ghost white hair had grown out and is now tied in four braids, two running down the front and two in back. His skin still ghostly pale and no amount of sun could make it otherwise. His eyes, still white as a dead man's eyes, although a reddish tinge could be seen around the edge. He shifted in his armor a bit, as clan heir he was taught very young, but had progressed farther than any had expected. His mastery over the Chakra Chains is unprecedented, going to the point of controlling other Uzumaki's Chains at will. His mastery of illusions was no laughing matter ether. His armor, a mixture of black and green to blend in the natural foliage in this area at night, was slightly uncomfortable. He had just got from a mission and was ready to rest. As he moved through the hallways, his eyes caught sight of a servant girl sweeping the main room. He quietly walked behind her, and did the one thing that always amused him.
"Why is this room not complete?"
The girl jumped, having not sensed him, it also helps that he could order her death in a second if he wished. Which he doesn't, of course.
"I'm sorry, my lord. For I had just started this room, and I did not expect you to come around and see if it was prepared or not."
Naruto sighed. Ever since his mother died of illness and his father of an assassination, which he made the Senju pay two fold, he was forced to be a clan head earlier then he wished. The rules and regulations he had to follow required him to be someone he wished he didn't have to be. If it was up him, they would hold back in many conflicts they were forced to be in and as a clan requirement, have squid everyday! The thought of the dish almost made his mouth water at the thought. He quickly sent his eyes piercing at the servant, causing her to tense.
"I have listened to your explanation and will take it into consideration, but for now I require something else of you. I have returned from a successful mission, and in celebration, I would like squid prepared for my dinner. I will go to remove my armor and rest; I expect it to be ready when I awaken. Should I mention what will happen should you fail?"
He glared and released a little killer intent, making the servant shake in fear. He hated to do this to his servants, but he had to be stern should new servants be bought anytime soon and try to question his authority.
"Of course, my lord."
Naruto nodded and started to leave to get out of his stuffy armor, when the servant raised a question.
"Will milady be joining you tonight, sir?"
A heavy weight fell down on Naruto, heavier than his armor or anything he has ever felt in his life. The feeling he had caused him to put his hand on the doorway he was ready to leave for support.
"…Yes, I do believe she will join us tonight."
A blessing to many, a curse to one. Remember, this was a different time. Gifts were presented to strong clans as peace offerings. As a young clan head who had already earned his place on the battlefield, this had rewarded Naruto with many gifts. These gifts ranged from jutsu's to human slaves( even if they did not use the term). One such gift was…..
"Hello, my beloved!"
Naruto sighed as his relaxation was disturbed. He sat outside by a table overlooking a beautifully crafted koi pond. He looked at what destroyed his inner piece that was created by the naturally beautiful fish.
A wife.
Her silky, smooth skin was covered with a beautiful white kimono. Her hands looked like they had never worked a day in her life. Her white hair almost sparkled in the moonlight. Her bright blue eyes scanned the area; however they can see nothing, two escorts helped her find the place of honor right next to him and she sat down. She is very beautiful, one of the most beautiful amongst Naruto and her age group.
Her name is lost to the pages of time. There is very little known about her, except that she was a gift from a dying clan, her powers over ice where unequaled, and she was madly in love with Naruto. No one knew why she loved him so much, for she loved him at an obsessive level. She claimed that it was destiny that brought her and Naruto together.
Naruto did not feel this way. To the clan, her bloodline and their marriage was a welcomed gift. To Naruto, it was an icy cage from which he could not escape.
"Welcome, princess, for it is an honor to join me tonight."
"Oh, beloved, I thought we were going to start calling each other by our names."
"That would not be proper, princess."
It was one of the most boring dinners Naruto had ever eaten. He ate as she talked about her day in her annoying bubbly voice. It always ended the same after he was finished with his meal he excused himself from the meal and left to sleep.
The girl was sitting there smiling until Naruto left, in which she grew an angry frown and the area around her started to freeze, including the pond and killing the fish. She pounded the frozen pond, somehow breaking it and killing all that's was inside.
"WHY WON'T YOU LOVE ME!?"
She as she yelled, the frozen aura started to move towards the servants before retracting. She visibly calmed down as she tugged on her kimono and smiled again.
"He must be tired; after all, he just got back from a mission."
The servants were scared but slowly started to lead her to her own room.
She was not at fault either, if Naruto had an open heart maybe this story would have had a happy ending. However Naruto was not open for….
Naruto sighed once again as he got in his bed gown. He quietly turned off all the lanterns and ushered the servants out of his room. Once he saw that no one was around, he lifted up a one of the floor boards and smiled. In the little hole that he created, there was a worn music box. It had old gold lining showcasing the opening and the turn key. It was made of old wood that was slightly grey in color. He once again looked around to make sure no one but him was around, he lifted it up and twisted the key. The top opened up to show a little girl, her figure now worn with age, with a little fox tail on her. She started to spin, making her look like she was dancing, as the music played.

His heart belonged to another.
"Like we promised, Together forever."
