Three hours later that same day (after Eggman's attack)

"…and that is how the villagers come in and out of the village. So, now that I'm done with the introduction, how about we grab some lunch and we can get started on the real tour?"

"It's about time we grabbed a bite to eat, I'm starving!" Schellsy leaned over to Sonic and whispered, "You know we could have already been eating lunch instead of listening to Knuckles go on about the town's entrance for almost the entire morning."

"I know," Sonic said, "but he really wanted to be the one to give you guys a tour. He threatened to never stop begging until we let him, remember?"

"Right, right, right…"

The gang made their way through the village. Koine glanced around at the villagers who were helping with each other's stands, getting them re-organized and cleaning up the mess from the attack that occurred just a few hours ago. "Your town cleaned up that mess Uncle Eggman made really fast." Koine noted in a soft voice.

"The townsfolk are used to Eggman's attacks, so much so that cleaning up the mess doesn't take as long as it used to. His attacks are mostly predictable, always attacking the same places. So, the villager's stock up on extra supplies to repair any damages to their businesses." Amy paused and raised an eyebrow. "'Uncle Eggman'"

"He insisted we call him that." Schellsy explained.

"So where did 'Uncle Eggman' run off to?" Tails asked.

"He had some errands to run," Schellsy said to him, "so he left us here with you guys. We were going to let you guys show us around and tomorrow, Uncle Eggman is going to let us lead the ambush attack."

"You can't call it an ambush if we know its coming." Sticks said.

Schellsy smirked. "Trust me-you'll be surprised. Koine and I are…special. I don't mean 'everyone's special in their own way' non-sense; I mean Koine and I are really special."

At Meh Burger, the gang were at their usual table (near the front counter, not too far from the napkins, forks, spoons…), pulled up some chairs for Koine and Schellsy, ordered their meals, and waited patiently for them. Schellsy looked up at the Meh Burger mascot logo, a large hamburger with eyes that wore a face of uneasy or queasiness. "So why is this place called 'Meh Burger'?"

Tails answered, "That's because the food here is-"

"Meh." Everyone else finished, shrugging their shoulders.

"Makes sense." Schellsy said. "So how much fighting do you do with Uncle E on a daily basis?"

"We fight him almost every day." Amy said.

"Seriously? Every day? How many battles does he win?"

"More like how many battles he could win but can't because we're so awesome at what we do." Sonic remarked.

Schellsy raised a curious eyebrow and crossed her arms. She said with some slight skepticism, "Really? Because he didn't mention that to us when we arrived here."

"He's probably too embarrassed to admit that he gets his butt kicked every week." Knuckles said.

At that moment, their food arrived via Dave, the intern. The aqua colored nutria set the trays down on the table. "Enjoy" he said in a raspy, high-pitched voice. Koine and Schellsy took a bite out of there burgers. Their noses crinkled in slight disgust. After a moment, Schellsy said, "The restaurant's name makes sense." Koine nodded in agreement.

In between bites, Sonic asked Koine and Schellsy, "So, Egghead said that your mom was an old collage friend of his. What's up with that."

"Oh, our mom was lab partners with him in evil college. She was the top of her class and he was struggling to get his feet of the ground. She felt bad for him (he was kind of pathetic then, according to her), so she took pity and helped him out on some of his evil projects. He wouldn't have been able to pass his classes and graduate without her help."

Amy asked, "How come we've never heard of her until now?"

Schellsy explained to her, "Moms been busy with her work and doesn't have time to socialize. Unlike Uncle E, she prefers to do her work in secret and not publicly make herself known. To the outside world, she's just a myth."

"Just like the government's politicians!?" Sticks cut it.

"Uhm…yeah, sure." Confusion formed on the sister's faces, but Sonic shook his head and gave them a look that said not to ask any questions.

"He also said you two were adopted." Tails said.

"Uh, yes, that's correct." Koine said. "Mom found me and Schellsy when we were little. I don't remember much about it. All I remember was that it was raining."

Schellsy slowly set her food down. "Yeah…we were abandoned as kids. Koine is the only family I've ever known. If mom hadn't found us…I-I don't really want to talk about it." There was something slightly somber in her tone of voice. Something that hinted at a mysterious and dark past in the girls lives that they dared not bring up.

Sniffles erupted, and Knuckles tenderly wiped the tears forming in his eyes. "That's so sad. And I don't even know what you're talking about!"

Schellsy nervously chuckled. "Yep! Too bad, so sad kind, of tale. No need to ask any questions about it until the near future." She quickly finished her food and stood up. "So! How about we start the tour?"

Knuckles quickly stood up. "Great! I have the whole tour planned out! It's going to be the best tour you've ever taken in your life!"

"Exactly how long is this tour going to be?" Amy asked with slight hesitation.

"Exactly three hours."

"A three-hour tour?"

"Yes. A three-hour tour."

"Is that an obscure movie reference?"

"Yes, and it's exactly how long this tour will be. A three-hour tour. More or less. Probably more, though. So, who's ready to start?"

The other members of team sprung out of their chairs.

"Sorry Knuckles." Sonic said apologetically, "I have to go help Tails with one of his inventions." Before anyone could say anything, he sped off towards Tails' workshop.

"I have to go help Sonic help me with my new invention, too." Tails said and, with the spin of his tails, quickly flew in the same direction Sonic was going.

"I also have to go help Tails, help Sonic, help Tails with his new invention, too." Amy said, quickly running after the fox and hedgehog.

Sticks looked at Knuckles and shrugged, "I just have to go." And with that, she casually walked away.

Knuckles turned to the sisters and sighed. "It's too bad that everyone suddenly had something important to do. It's almost convenient."

"Yeah, 'convenient'." Schellsy murmured sarcastically to Koine. To Knuckles she said, "Tour sounds like fun, but I'd better go and find Uncle E. I'm sure Koine would like a tour of the place."

With excited eyes, Knuckles folded his hands and pleaded, "Please let me give you the tour! It will be fun, I promise!"

Hesitantly Koine looked at her sister nervously. She didn't like to be away from Schellsy for more than a few minutes. But three hours was a long time and Koine wasn't sure that she would be able to handle being away from her for that long.

Schellsy patter her sisters back and gave her a reassuring smile. "Don't worry about it. If anything happens you can contact me on my communicator, ok? Just go out and have fun, alright?"

It took a few minutes before Koine finally nodded yes. She gave her sister a hug before turning to Knuckles. "I would like to take your tour of the town."

A big grin spread out on the echidna's face. He grabbed Koines arm and together the two of them rushed into town all the while Knuckles babbling on about the sights, smells, and people.

As she watched her sister disappear from view, a small frown formed on Schellsy's lips. Please…let nothing go wrong this time. Let my sister have some fun. Let her be treated as a normal person. Don't let what happened last time happen again.

Let her find some friends.
