We arrived at the antique shop that Dot ran. As soon as we stepped inside I was welcomed by a high pitch scream and tight hug, "ahhhh Clary happy birthday sister!" Dot had known me just as long if not longer than Simon we always considered her family, and I considered her like an older sister always. "Dot" I laughed "Thank you, I got here as soon as we finished at the coffee house" "Perfect the store is kinda slow right now so it is the perfect time to give you your gift." She went behind the counter and pulled out a silver bag with the numbers 16 all over it in black lettering. As I tore through the tissue paper I saw a black soft item at the bottom. Pulling it out it revealed to be a tight, very short, item of clothing. "A Shirt….." I questioned. "Ha-ha, no it's a dress for the club." The material revealed patches of mesh and leather. This was going to draw attention by anyone who saw me in it. "Dot thank you I love it but I don't know if I can pull this off." "Clary, stop. You are too modest, you are going to look amazing in it. It's for tonight." Simon looked at me with wide eyes and an unsure look. "What" I spat out to him, "I can pull it off" feeling more confident. He looked away rolling his eyes in a way to say I don't know if you can but that just made me want to wear it more. "I'm going to change in it before we go I'll put it under my clothes and then I'll change in the van". Simon walked out of the store, I laughed it off giving Dot a big hug for the birthday present and another thank you. I walked out of the store to meet Simon. "Are we headed to pick up Maureen the show starts in a couple hours and we still have to drive". "Yea I just got off the phone with her hop in and we'll head there now". The show that Simon was doing tonight was at a little bookstore in the city, a couple blocks from the club. The owner had agreed to let Simon park there all night while we went to the club. We picked up Maureen on the way and I moved to the back despite Simon's protest. When we got there it seemed like the house was full. Multiple groupie fans of Simons little band called Rock Solid Panda and a couple of other people who were perusing the store. "Ok guys are you ready" Simon always got nervous before a show. Simon headed into the store with Maureen as a couple of workers in the store came out to help haul the band equipment inside. I walked the aisles a little looking over books before looking up to see if their little corner was set and ready. After all I was their lead groupie, though I like to think of my benefit of being their friend and van artist as a higher status than fan. The show was amazing, Simon and Maureen played so well with another one of their friends on the drums. They were going to go far, they knew that, they just had to play for the right crowd. "Woooooh!" I yelled clapping loud. They all looked around at the clapping crowd smiling at a night well done. I left the store a little early so I could change in the van. I stepped outside of the store and was hit with a cold breeze, it was chillier than I thought it would be. Maybe I should rethink this dress idea. Before I could second guess myself I was already taking off my outfit to reveal the sheer and revealing dress I had on. I pulled my purse over to do some makeup prep and pulled my black heels out to match. Double checking my makeup I didn't have enough mirror to check how my outfit looked, I would have to trust it I guess. Pulling down the hem line I pulled the van door open stepping out to see where the band was at on time. Simon and Maureen were heading outside and Simon stopped in front of me as I hopped down to the ground. "Clary!" he looked in awe, as the members of the bookstore were leaving he took off his jacket and tried to cover my body with it to hide people from seeing me. I pushed away his attempt "Simon, I am a grown women, and its my 16th birthday I am going to do this." Maureen looked at me with a get em' girl facial expression. "You look hot girl". "Thanks girl" I said high fiving her. "ok if we are going to get me home in time we need to head out now are you guys ready….to party!" They looked at me with a nerdy expression, me clearly being the nerdy one here. We headed down the block before seeing the red flashing lights. This was it, my chance to have some fun, and let loose. Well as little at least. I looked up walking almost under the sign straying away from the group a little. My shoulder was hit to the side knocking me off balance. "Hey watch where you are going!" I yelled. The blond haired boy turned around confused. "Excuse me….its what you say when your being rude". He walked toward me slowly giving me the change to look him up and down. Tight black v neck, tight dark jeans ripped a little at the knee and pockets. Fingerless gloves on and semi dress shoes. His body was clearly chiseled and his looks were on point. He hand a sharp jaw line, and flipped his hair out of his face before speaking to me. "you can see me" he questioned. "Yea, unlike you who apparently walk into everyone in your path". "Are you an angel" he tried to say but loosing his words towards the end as I watched his eyes do the same to me as I was doing to him. "Is that the best line you have, pretty soon your going to ask me if it hurt falling from heaven". He smirked before turning around and walking into the club. I narrowed my eyes at his exit, he just rudely ignored me, after bumping into me too! "Come on guys, we're headed in". I stood up confidently, chest out, head up. I was going to find out who this guy is. And as I walked up to the bouncer letting people in, he unclipped the chain and waved me inside.
