Chapter 1

Ever since I met him, my life has changed. I never really had a boyfriend. It's not that I didn't want one; it was that none of the boys in my school were good enough for me. I was one of the popular girls in my school so it wasn't unusual for having boys follow me. However, things changed once I transferred to Tampa High.

I went from being popular to nobody. However, the days of my loneness changed when I met this extraordinary smart and extremely hot guy named Kody Roberts. His looks are the features of a god. Everything about him is so perfect. His blondish messy hair just flows in the wind. If you walk behind him, you'd smell a sweet scent of Juniper Breeze in the air. It's like being a second hand smoker, but even better.

I guess I'm just one of the luckier girls in school. I have every class with him every single day. Since I'm new to the school, the only seat left was next to him. It seems to me that no one wanted to sit with him. I thought he was very talkative, but I was wrong. He didn't even talk, not even in the hallways. It seems like he didn't have any friends. In class, he acts as if I'm not even there.

Three weeks of school has passed already and he still hasn't talked to me. I can't even pay attention in class because I just keep staring at him. Then I wind up daydreaming about him.

One day, the English teacher, Mr. Williams announced, "Today you guys are going to create a story on any fictional character with your partner…"

Mr. Williams just kept talking, but my heart just beats faster and faster. I became so anxious. I just wanted to talk to Kody so badly. Then I heard Mr. Williams say, "It could be a vampire, werewolf, mermaid, etc., etc. I want illustrations in your story. And you guys MUST work together!" He walks towards us and stop to whisper in Kody's ear, "That means you."

Kody rolls his eyes at Mr. Williams but he didn't seem to care at all. Kody sighed loudly. "Is there a problem Mr. Roberts? Because Ms. Cruz is a fabulous writer." declared Mr. Williams.

Kody looked at me and finally said in a low voice, "No sir, not at all. I'm sure we'll do fine."

I had a feeling that Kody didn't accept me.

Five minutes had passed and neither one of us talked. All we did was stare at a piece of blank paper. Then, he finally said, "I'm sorry about that. My name is Kody Roberts. I normally work by myself so I'm not use to working with a partner."

I nodded and he continued, "So what do you want to write about?"

I shrugged. I clearly didn't know what to tell him. I just wanted to talk to him.

Kody started scribbling, "There was once a beautiful new girl student that walked into …"He paused to look at me and said, "What do you think about this?"

"Weelll," I dragged the words out and continued, "I think your handwriting is beautiful."

Kody laughed and said, "I think you're much more beautiful than my handwriting."

I stared at him confused. For the first time I noticed how beautiful his eyes were. Then my mind wonders, does he love me?
