Edit: Chapter 2, this one was particularly bad in the first version but at least I knew how bad it was when I wrote it. As you'll see in my old Author's Note at the end of the chapter, I even thought it sucked the first time, lol. I am much more satisfied with it now, though it's still pretty short.

Not much else to say except, hope you enjoy!
It's almost funny. How in the expanse of this luxurious school, he was the first thing she saw when she got off the bus. Despite the, glittering cobblestone walkway, gushing fountains, vibrant flowers, and tens of well-dressed students that surrounded them, her eyes landed on him. And if you ever dared to ask her about it, she would deny it wholeheartedly.
But there he was, dressed in a well fitted black crew neck shirt with the sleeves rolled up to his elbows that did little to hide his fit build, and dark straight leg jeans without a single crease in sight embellished with a brown belt with gold loops that perfectly slouched at his hips. He was adorned with an extremely thin gold chain around his neck and a gold watch on his wrist that she knew for a fact were real, both of which shimmered against his almost perfect pale skin in the sun's rays. Even his messy black hair appeared styled to look that way, as though every haphazard strand was actually perfectly in place. Yes there he was.
Looking obnoxious as ever.
He was leaning against the main fountain at the private school's entrance glaring at his phone with a clear look of irritation as he texted, probably berating some poor, overworked maid for a trivial mistake. His red scar contrasted even more harshly against his flawless complexion as his face wrinkled slightly with a disgruntled scowl. This did nothing to deter any of his many admirers from blushing at his appearance as they passed.
Son of the CEO of Fire Nation Solar Energy, he and his sister were the richest and most influential students at Bending Minds Academy. With the best grades, the best clothes, and the best, well, everything to the rest of the school they were Bending Minds royalty, if not potential future business partners. To Katara, he was a pompous, self-important jerk that thought he was better than everybody else. He was Zuko Noaya Mana, and her distaste for him was clear as day.
"Let's go, Sokka." she said, dragging her brother along the cobblestone path that led to the academy's main entrance.
"Hey, little sis, let's slow down." He said gently removing his arm from his sister's tight grasp as the bus pulled off behind them. "Class doesn't start for another 20 minutes, no need to rush back to prison. Let's enjoy our last bits of fresh summer air." He looked around, holding out his arms for emphasis. He took in a dramatically deep breath and sighed loudly as he released it.
Neither sibling noticed a sleek black car pull up in the street behind them. As it came to a full stop, the driver stepped out to walk around the short limo and open the rear passenger door. When he did, a girl named Ty Lee was the first to bounce out of the vehicle. Her grey eyes sparkled as they landed on the school building like a little kid at a toy store, her long brown hair was tied into one neat braid that swung with each of her excited movements as she turned to beckon her friends out of the car.
"Maaaaaii, quit doing your nails, I have to finish decorating my locker before class!" she whined, bouncing impatiently, but dazzling smile never leaving her pretty face.
When she leaned over to reach inside the car, it became quite obvious exactly how short her white shorts were over her long legs, and her lacy pink crop top did little to hide the curves of her smooth, toned torso. She seemed to benefit greatly from the school's lack of dress code. Her father was head of advertising at Fire Nation Energy, explaining how she became such close friends with the Fire Nation heiress.
When she stood back up straight, she pulled with her another girl from the car, one much less cheerful than herself. Mai's face seemed to be permanently impassive, the only difference in her usually disinterested appearance was the irritated frown she gave her best friend for dragging her out of the car.
"You are the only person on earth that gets this excited about going back to school." she deadpanned snatching her arm from friend's grasp and closing the aforementioned bottle of black nail polish.
Mai was the daughter of the mayor of this town who seemed to work closely with the energy company proven by excessive billboard ads and the solar panels on all of the public buildings. She was dressed a bit more conservatively in a long, flowing black skirt made of a light material that reached down to her ankles. She also had a long sleeved, cropped wrap top, that exposed a diamond belly button ring and the beginnings of an elegant, black tattoo on the right side of her waist that peeked over the top of her skirt. Her dark, elegant look, was completed by the sleek perfection of her silky black hair which fell from two buns at the top her head. Despite the abundance of black, she still seemed perfectly content in the summer heat due to the airy material of her attire.
"Really now?" came the voice of the car's final passenger.
Finally, as if the best truly were saved for last, red platform heels made contact with the stone sidewalk. Last to exit the car was Azula. Her mere presence could make anyone feel like they should bow in respect; like the soul of an empress was trapped in the body of a teenage girl. She was dressed in a pair of trim, black tuxedo shorts, the material so sleek and pressed you could almost see your reflection in them. Although the top two buttons of her blouse were undone, revealing the smooth expanse of her pale chest and a glittering gold chain not unlike the one her brother wore, not a bit of cleavage showed from the top of her white button down, though its tailor-made fit clung to the curves of her flawless toned body. Dangerously sharp red nails casually held a red, plaid blazer over her shoulder, apparently too hot to sport in the summer heat, but ready to complete her sophisticated look once she entered the air conditioned academy halls. Not a hair was out of place.
"I actually quite enjoy school, it has proven itself to be one of the many things I am the best at." she explained, sounding less arrogant and, more like she was stating a well-know fact. She more or less was.
She was as intelligent as she was beautiful, her grades the highest than has ever been seen in Bending Minds history. She was actually a grade ahead, starting her junior year when she should be a sophomore like Katara. To top it all off, she was the reining champion of the Martial Arts club, having never been defeated by an opponent. With brains, beauty, brawn, and money, she truly had it all and she was extremely aware of this fact.
"Come, girls. Let's go greet my dear older brother." she ordered as her red painted lips sported their usual grin that to Katara always looked calculating.
When the three girls had fully exited the vehicle, it pulled away leaving them to take in the appearance of their proverbial kingdom. As they walked closer to the campus, Ty Lee's eyes eventually landed on the male of the Miyuki siblings, causing him to freeze up slightly before relaxing into a more "suave" stance. Mai watched out of the corner of her eye as Ty Lee broke her formation at Azula's right side to bounce over to greet the blue-eyed boy. Azula didn't even spare her a glance.
"Hey cutie!" she greeted with a flirty bat of her eyelashes as she finally reached the duo, irritating Katara as she completely ignored her presence as usual.
"Hey yourself." Sokka replied smoothly. His demeanor more flirtatious as he leaned slightly towards the girl with his reply.
"Ty Lee!" called a voice, the same one that always interrupted these interactions. Ty Lee gave Sokka a wink and one final wave as she bounced back eagerly to her leader's side.
"Still got it." Sokka said popping his collar while he watched the girl's hips sway as she walked away earning himself an exaggerated eyeroll from his sister at his satisfied smirk.
"She doesn't even know your name, Sokka!" she retorted bubbling with satisfaction as her brother immediately frowned at her comment.
"She might know it." he deflated as the truth of his sister's comment continued to sink in. "Maybe." Katara's smirk only grew in response.
"I doubt it." she replied patting him on the head in jest as he grumbled under his breath.
"Now come on, loverboy," she started, giving his arm a tug in the direction of the courtyard. "It's time we found Toph and Aang." she voiced as they walked towards the polished staircase that led to the school's entrance.
"Good Morning, Zuzu." the siblings heard Azula greet her brother with mock enthusiasm as he glared at her with pure malice. Everyone knew of the intense rivalry between the Mana siblings. Katara once believed that all siblings loved each other deep down, no matter how much they irritated each other, but she honestly thought twice about that when she looked at these two.
The light giggling of Zuko's surrounding admirers and his angry growl of 'Azula' were the last things the Miyuki siblings heard before they were on their way up the marble steps.
And there ends chapter two! Wow, two chapters in one day, and it's the first two chapters! I'm so proud of myself! Sorry it sucked. The next chapter will probably suck too because the first three chapters are just introducing the characters and seeing all the different relationships. I'm also kind of rushing this a little, since I want to get to the actual drama! Next chapter, we meet Aang, Toph, Suki, and Haru, and we actually start school! : D ! I hope you liked this chapter better than I did! Please Review!
Keep on Reading
