(P.S. I gave Sam a different middle name because Sam-John was not going to do.)
He strolled out of the literal heart of Jesus and outside to the pavement, watching as the clouds rolled by fast. All he heard was zoned-out chatting and the sound of lips smacking together. Sam looked up at the couple in front of him as his nose wrinkled and watched as they kissed raucously.
"Always." Castiel spoke, gazing at the girl in front of him with adoration in his eyes.
"Always." The girl—Meg, he guessed—spoke back, rubbing her nose against her boyfriends and she giggled at him.
Hearing the door open, he looked behind him, watching as more people from Support Group flooded out, conversing and walking with their friends and Sam—Sam had just stood there because he had no friends. It wasn't as miserable as he thought it would be because he likes being left alone, he likes being able to read peacefully, but sometimes it just gets so lonely. And Sam hates it, God, he hates being lonely, but he loves being alone and he knows that inexplicable, but that's how he is.
"I like when you say it." The brunette spoke to her boyfriend, smiling brightly as she heard him say "always" and kiss her again.
"Literally."
Sam looked to the left of him and stared at the male in front of him, who he realized was Dean Winchester. He gazed at the guy a little longer before he finally spoke up, "What?"
"We were literally in the heart of Jesus. I mean, I thought we were in a church basement, but obviously not. He really takes that seriously, does he?" Dean said, smiling over at the younger man beside him.
"Oh, yeah." The younger huffed out a laugh and watched as Castiel and his girlfriend make out. "What's with the 'always'?" He questioned, his vision shooting to Dean.
He sighed out, "it means that they'll always love each other, they'll always be together. You know, couple stuff. Which I wouldn't know because I don't have a partner, not—uh, not that you care…or anything." The leather-clad male rubbed the back of his neck in embarrassment. His hand fell down as he stared at the male again, gazing at his features. "What's your name?"
"Sam." He spoke, pursing his lips together as he watched the cars leave the parking lot.
"No," Dean spoke softly. "What's your full name?"
"Samuel Kane Singer." And then, it was hushed. The talking had stopped, but the cars kept going. It felt awkward—scratch that—so freaking awkward. "Why're you staring at me?" Sam spoke, gripping the handle of his backpack.
"Because, you're gorgeous." He spoke effortlessly, still keeping his eyes on the younger.
The brunette scoffed at the horrible pick-up line, "Oh my god."
"Now, you see," he spoke, smiling at Sam, "I decided not to let myself resist the desires of my life because—as you kindly pointed out—we're all going to die soon, anyways."
"Yeah, alright. But, I am not gorgeous." The last word was barely spoke as a girl walked out of the church and smiled at Dean, a "hey, Dean" slipping from her lips as she touched his arm lightly. Sam examined as the older male moved away from the girl before he replied with his own, "Hey, Molly" and stared as she left.
"Let's go watch a movie." The sentence was blurted out by the blonde-haired male who was smiling at Sam.
"Huh?"
"Wha?"
Sam laughed as he ran a hand through his hair, "I'm—I'm, uh, free next week if you want to—"
"No, I mean, now."
Laughter filled the air when the brunette looked at Dean who was still staring at him. "You could be an axe murder or a serial killer for all I know." He was still amused as he was chatting to the male who had just called him gorgeous and wanted him to go with.
"There's always that possibility, isn't there, Sam-Kane?" The blonde reached into his pocket, pulling out a pack of Marlboro Black 100's. He pulled one out of his pack before he placed it in his mouth. "Come on, take a risk."
"Are you SERIOUS?" Sam scoffed, shaking his head. He knew this was too good to be true. "You're smoking and you had FREAKING CANCER? There's always a hamartia, isn't there? And yours is that even though you had cancer, you're giving a company money to require MORE cancer? Let me just tell you that not being able to breathe SUCKS. It literally sucks." He ran a hand through his hair and inhaled through his nose.
"What's a hamartia?" The blonde asked, raising an eye brow.
"It's a fatal flaw." Sam kept quiet for a minute before he finally spoke, "You were doing really well, too. You ruined this whole thing."
"The whole thing?"
"Yes!"
"Oh, man." He spoke sarcastically, but seeing the pissed off look on the younger males face made him reconsider. "Sam-Kane, they don't actually hurt you unless you light them." Dean spoke, taking the cigarette out of his mouth and twirled it around his finger. "I've never lit one. It's a metaphor, you see. You put the thing that does the killing between your teeth," he put the cigarette in his mouth, "but you never give it the pour to kill you. A metaphor." The leather-clad male smirked.
Sam smirked as he watched the guy place his pack back in his pocket. The sound of a car pulling up caught his attention as he saw his mom pull up into the front of the church and rolled down her window to talk to him. "So, is it a zombie movie marathon or a serial killer marathon?" She spoke as she beat her hands on the steering wheel.
The brunette fixed his cannula and tightened his lips as he glanced at Dean. "No," he shot a look towards his mom. "I've made plans with Dean Winchester, today."
Jody raised her eyebrows and looked at the male besides her son. She watched as he raised his hand and waved at her with a smile on his lips.
'This should be interesting.' Jody thought as she smiled. "Alright, have fun."
