Chapter: The Good Wife

Various writing utensils were scribbling loudly across notebook papers.

There were a couple laptops around the classroom, but those students had emailed the professor at the beginning of the semester and gave a thorough explanation of why they need their laptop in class.

The professor found the old style of pencil or pen with paper better than a laptop when remembering notes. The professor also did not like the idea of laptops in the class because some students rather procrastinate on the laptop than focus on class lectures.

There were a few lights off in the class to clearly show the slideshow up on the large projection screen in the front of the classroom. The slideshow topic was on Greek mythology heroes.

The class was an introduction class to mythology, thus many of the students were freshmen and sophomores with the occasional juniors and seniors. Upperclassmen were usually in the class to fill a requirement or get a credit.

There was only a few more minutes left to class and the professor was about to wrap up the slideshow.

"Perseus makes his way back with Medusa head…"

A knock on the classroom door caused the professor to stop in her explanation and look toward the door in the back of the classroom.

The students looked at one another with confusion before their attention was on the door. The door opened up, and the first thing everyone saw was a large bouquet of Stargazer Lilies in a solid red vase.

"Um, what is this?" The professor asked with hands on their hips.

The florist delivery man walked straight up toward her and set the large bouquet on the table where she had some of her lecture notes.

"Are you Mrs. Noelle Lecter?"

"Yes, that is me." The professor known as Noelle Lecter stared with narrowed eyes at the florist delivery man.

The delivery man gave her a smile, not showing an ounce of being faze by her slight glare.

"Your husband said to deliver this no matter what you were doing. Good day, Mrs. Lecter. Sorry to interrupt your class." The delivery man said before he walked out of the classroom.

"Well, there is no stopping the mister." Noelle said jokily causing her students to snicker.

"That is so romantic."

"Her husband must be a charmer."

"That is so adorable."

With a shake of her head, Noelle could not stop the smile on her lips. She eyed the stargazer lilies her husband sent her. With him sending her flowers, Noelle did a quick mental check in her head to reassure herself that there was no special event today. It was simply her husband showing he still was a chivalry romantic toward her.

He was always like that, and she would not ask him to stop as she loved it.

Married for almost twenty-one years now, Hannibal Lecter was a hidden romantic, which he only shown toward Noelle. Also, he happened to be a hidden cannibalistic serial killer, but he did not want any taste of Noelle. He never did. There was only wanting intimate tastes.

"Well, um, I lost my train of thought on things and class is ending anyway, so you're dismiss. Please, look on the blog site to see your homework. Thanks and have a good day." Noelle smiled and began to slide her lecture notes into a binder.

The students gave one last laughs before they began to pack away their school supplies away.

The binder dropped into her backpack with a thud. She slid the backpack on and picked up the large bouquet of Stargazer Lilies. The smile stayed on her lips as she walked down the hallway, almost smugly smirking when she saw people eye her flowers in awe and curiosity.

It was a short distance from the building she exited out of to the building where her office was. Noelle entered the building and turned to the left to walk up two floors until she got onto the third level where the Classic Department was located.

On parts of the hallway walls were posters showing different internships, random posters of events happening around campus, and there were other posters classic related. There were a few pillars that had built in glass containers which held artifacts in.

Close toward the end of the hallway was a thick, dark wood door with a plaque bolted in the door with her name on it. Noelle unlocked her office and entered. She shut the door behind her and made her way across her spacious office.

One of the walls was a complete wall of glass, which overlooked a manmade pond on the campus. Usually Noelle kept the shades open to allow the sunlight in and heat up her office, but there were other times she would hit the button on a remote and a large shade would come down from the ceiling and cover up the whole glass wall.

A wall behind her desk was mostly built in the wall shelves, which held either books or artifacts. On another wall were picture frames with sketches and photographs of the most popular areas in Italy, especially areas relating with her classics subjects on Ancient Rome and Greek. Most photographs were famous landmarks, like an example was the Flavian Amphitheatre, or better known as the Colosseum.

Her desk was large, her chair was a comfortable leather chair and there was three leather seats that were set in front of her desk.

Noelle set her backpack onto her desk chair and she walked over to a long table against the wall parallel from her desk. She set the flowers down between picture frames of her family.

Her fingers caressed the petals of one of the lilies. Her eyes moved over toward one of the sterling silver picture frames. Her fingertips traced the smooth edges of the lilies petals, thinking of her husband while she stared at a photo of him and her in college. The particular photo was taken in the Roman Forum in front of the Arch of Septimius Severus. It had been their spring break and they decided to enjoy the week in Italy.

It was also the place where Noelle saw this as the moment where Hannibal and her relationship became very serious.

"Especially when I lost my virginity with him there." Noelle smirked and she whirled away from the lilies to walk to her desk. Though she couldn't help but take one more last glance at the beautiful flowers and then she walked around her desk to prepare herself.

Her office hours were about to begin in a few minutes.

On the way home, she made a quick stop at the grocery store and picked up a few items. The whole time Noelle couldn't help, but continue to have thoughts running through her mind on reasons why Hannibal would send her a beautiful bouquet of flowers.

She knew there were no anniversaries to celebrate around this time, it wasn't their birthdays, there was no great news that brought a celebration, and so forth. It must had been one of those days where Hannibal felt very generous.

The blacked out BMW M6 pulled up at the house and backed into the driveway to be parked beside a dark blackish green Bentley Mulsanne.

"He's home early." Noelle mumbled to herself as she eyed her husband's Bentley.

She shut off her vehicle, unbuckle herself and then reached over to unbuckle the bouquet of flowers out of the passenger seat.

Usually Noelle would beat him home by a few minutes, but today was not the case.

With the flowers in hands and her backpack on her back, Noelle walked up the front yard walkway and opened the front door. She set the flowers down inside on a table by the front door and dropped her backpack inside. She walked back to her vehicle and reached into the backseat to grab hold of two reusable grocery bags filled with fresh groceries.

Inside the home, Noelle kicked the front door shut but then looked around to make sure her male counterpart did not see her action.

The house was perfection but not because each room was a different design that contained pieces that were priceless, but the house was spotless. If her perfectionist husband saw what she just did to their front door, he would most likely scowl her.

She carried the two grocery bags into the kitchen. As she got closer, she heard the tea kettle let out a loud whistle. A grin was set on her lips as she entered the kitchen.

"The flowers were lovely."

Dark amber eyes with flecks of maroon looked up with warmth at the sight of her.

The grocery bags were set down, and Noelle made her way around the kitchen island toward her male counterpart. She stood close enough where her chest brushed against his right arm. The feel of his body heat going through her clothes made the hairs on her body to rise and then settle back down.

"I'm glad you enjoy them."

"I was in shock that the florist delivery man had interrupted my class. I asked him why he did so and do you know what he told me."

"Do tell." A charming smirk came onto his lips.

"He said along the lines of, your husband told me to deliver this to you, no matter what you are doing. Either something important happen today or you are changing, Hannibal?"

Hannibal Lecter took ahold of handle of the hot tea kettle and he made two cups of green tea.

A cup was set before her, and the steam rose steadily into the air. Noelle touched the brim of the tea cup and she looked at her husband of sixteen years, but they have been together for twenty-one years, and counting on.

Through thick and thin they had stuck it out, even when she became pregnant and had the twins at nineteen, and Hannibal had just turned twenty-one. She was thankful her family was supportive and helped with the twins while Hannibal and she continued with college.

The wonderful spring break trip to Italy, the place where she lost her virginity to Hannibal, was also where the twins had been conceived. Hannibal and she had not only brought home a relationship, but they also brought home two special gifts.

"Changing? How so?" Hannibal asked, and lifted his cup of tea to his awaiting lips.

"Well, to have my husband make sure that the delivery man rudely interrupted my class, I have to say that is very uncommon for you to act that way or ask for a rude favor. Something must be wrong." Noelle said mockingly and brought her hand up to touch his forehead to check for a temperature.

Hannibal brushed her hand away. The two stared one another in the eyes with grins set on their lips.

"I must say, it was very rebellious of you." Noelle purred and grab ahold of his tea cup to set it aside on the kitchen island.

Hannibal looked away from his cup and stared down at her.

She ran her hands up his stomach to his chest until she wrapped her arms around his neck. Her eyes darken with lust.

Noelle did not want to admit, but she could have him wrapped around her fingers. Does she use it to her advantage? Only when someone pissed her off and she wanted Hannibal to do something about it.

She was a good wife.

With a few loose screws like her husband. But to those that looked at the couple from the outside, people would perceived and label Hannibal and she as a 'normal' couple.

Noelle pulled his head down and brushed her lips against his but pulled back when he tried to take her in. A frustrated low growl escaped from him while she got a mischievous smirk. Fingers played with the hair on the nape of his neck. She lightly massaged the back of his neck before he made the move of taking her lips with his own.

Since she wore the dress today, Noelle realized the perks as she felt one of Hannibal hands trail up her left thigh and grip her behind to push her closer against him. She was about to wrap one of her legs around his waist since she could feel him getting excited, when there was a groan from the entry of the kitchen doorway.

"Argh! Come on. We come home for Thanksgiving break to surprise you two and we walk into this."

"Well, it seems like Dad is already to the giving part."

The Lecter couple pulled their lips away from each other, but kept their arms wrapped around each other. Their heads turned and they stared at the two individuals that stood in the kitchen doorway.

Hannibal referred them as the hellions while Noelle referred them as her two precious gifts.

Standing side by side in the entry of the kitchen with suitcases on their sides were Noelle and Hannibal's twin boys.

Tristan and Leonardo Lecter.

Hi Everyone,

Hope everyone is enjoying this thus far.

I see the Lecter family as a family that only understand one another. Anyone else doesn't understand them. In a way, the Lecter family is far from normal.

Thank You!

Enjoy.
