Chapter 1
Adrien's POV
Rain.
I listened to the symphony of droplets skip across the ground with a harmony to the beat of each impact.
I fidgeted with a piece of the now drenched golden hair as I paced towards the car, in no hurry, to get home.
Father will be bitter once I get home for taking so much time.
Grunting I waved my friend, Nino, goodbye, dreading the soon-to-come scowl from my father.
I sat in the back seat for a while, watching as the glassy orbs of water fly past the window, roughly slamming into the concerte floors.
Considering the drive was, at most, five minutes, the aching of my heart dragged across the floor as I exited the car.
"Thank you" I said with the little energy I had left, to Gorilla who looked exceptionally concerned, as if he could see right through the fake smile I had plastered on my face.
Despite my fake grin, I couldn't help but feel accomplished on winning the acceptance of my newly obtained friend Marinette.
Especially Marinette, the only person skeptical of me on my first day of school.
Something sure is special about her. I thought chuckling at the interesting personality I had encountered.
Standing directly in front of the doors to my house, I sighed, remembering that I was about to get punished by my father.
Prepared for the obstacle that I was about to face, I slowly opened the doors and cautiously stepped inside.
Surprised to see no one standing on the spiral staircase yelling at me, I decided to drag myself to my room.
Why? I thought to myself, unsure the reason I was upset about not being in trouble.
Pulling me out of my thoughts, Plagg poked me in the nose asking for camembert. Sighing I agreed handing my little friend his meal.
"You do realize this is your 12th serving of camembert today, don't you Plagg?" I jested, playfully mocking my greedy kwami.
"Heh, you do realize you were drooling when you were standing outside those doors? Hope whoever you were thinking of likes weird kids like you."Plagg replied returning my playful tone.
"Ha ha," I retorted. "Very funny, but I was not drooling over Marinette. She's just a friend."
Although I said it with confidence, I gave Plagg a doubtful look.
"Not feline her yet i guess?" Plagg said, making me blush seemed to be his natural talent.
Sighing I threw my hands up in defeat, "Fine you win!"
Funny how I went from sad to happy upon meeting with Marinette. I guess she just has that effect on people.
Like a star, she unknowingly pulls every stare to the comfort of her smile.
If only that star wasn't so far out of my reach.
