My dearest darling readers:

Are you still out there? This story still has 85 follows so I hope this message reaches some of you. I apologize for abandoning this story 3 years ago. Life got really crazy and somewhere along the way I stopped watching Glee and focused on my career. That doesn't mean I lost love for this story, just that I lost the motivation with which I'd been writing it. Out of curiosity I decided to take a look on here a few weeks ago and discovered a couple of new reviews made last year lamenting my abandonment. It made me nostalgic for it so I went looking for old files. What I found was nearly 30k words of unpublished story.

I spent countless hours writing them, it feels silly now not sharing all that work if people really want to know what happens. Since it's not completed, and my original plan was way too ambitious then and a bit discouraging now (I just don't realistically have the time) I've decided on a new approach in order to continue sharing this story with you all. Instead of writing 3 extensive chapters (the idea was to detail each important chapter of Santana's life, alas they spanned too long a period of time and I had trouble editing myself) I'll be starting a new series based on this prologue, which I've now re-titled Daughters: Prologue for cataloging purposes. The first in the series is now titled Daughters: Briana which is basically the original Chapter One split into normal-sized chapters, the first of which is up now.

My hope is that by changing the approach in telling it, my motivation to see this story through will be restored. After all, I do hate not finishing things and believe me, this thing bugs every 6 months or so and won't leave me alone. I know how awful it is to get hooked on a fic only to find out it's been abandoned. The neglect is so rampant within our fandom that I can no longer contribute! Also, in honor of our being lured back into the last season of Glee with vague promises of a happy ending, I'm mildly curious to see how much of this story ends up resembling the final product. Spoilers indicate there are at least some similarities in the gang's return to their hometown, although the character journeys are wildly different here as originally intended. Please remember that I began this story halfway through season 2 so it is very much an AU at this point, plus the new series has a childhood backstory which the show has since written otherwise. I hope that you enjoy and if you're kind enough to forgive me for abandoning you this long, please have a read and let me know your thoughts! I'd be so very delighted to hear back from you.

One Love,

g
