Chapter One
Tom Paris was just on his way to the mess-hall when he passed the Captain and Chakotay walking together down the hall.
Tom smiled as he thought to himself, "Man they look good together. I just wish he would get the guts together to ask her out on a date."
Then B'elanna walked up and said, "Why do I have the feeling that you're thinking what I'm thinking."
Tom smiled and said, "Because you probably are. Let's face it; everybody on the ship is probably thinking the same thing! (We are thinking the same thing, right?)"
B'elanna smiled, and said, "That the captain and Chakotay better get married, or everyone on the ship is going to lose their minds?
Tom sighed and said, "Right every time."
"Well, they do have a point. I mean, it's not like everybody can't see how Chakotay just stares at her on the bridge!"
Tom smiled and said, "Well, there's a holiday coming up that I think will be perfect for the apparent, hmm, predicament we are faced with. It's called 'Valentines' Day'"
Then, from around the corner, Seven of Nine suddenly walked up and said, "Yes, that would be an appropriate time to… chance them together."
Chapter Two
"Seven, I thought we talked about the just popping out of nowhere thing you always do!" B'elanna said after she stopped steaming.
Seven simply raised her eyebrows, and said "I did not pop out of nowhere. I appeared from behind a corner."
Tom stifled a laugh as B'elanna turned a violent shade of fuchsia.
But, then the meaning of what Seven had just said hit B'elanna.
"Wait a second. You actually want to help us get them together?" she said in utter disbelief.
Seven smiled, (in her blank, robotic way), and said, "I have also noticed that they do look… nice together."
Tom smiled, and said, "Well, what do you suppose we do?"
B'elanna frowned and said, "Well, we could sneak a small holo-emitter onto one of their uniforms and produce a sprig of mistletoe to follow them just like you did with… the… Doctor… and… Seven. Sorry. Bad idea."
Seven thought for a while, then said, "Let's see. Tom, how do you usually make sure a couple, that you think would function well together, finds time alone with each other?"
Tom thought a little bit, then said, "I've got it! Here's how it's going to work!"
