Chapter 2.

Californication.

Destruction leads to a very rough road
But it also breeds creation
And earthquakes are to a girl's guitar
They are just another good vibration
And tidal waves couldn't save the world
From Californication

Californication- Red Hot Chili Peppers

Im not really sure how long I had been running for, I just know that the climate had changed. The rain had stopped and the temperature had risen. I try and count back the hours as I continue to run south, but the days had seemed to jumble together.

Yeah, I know I probably shouldn't have stormed out like I did.

But, I can't change that now.

They know I didn't mean what I said.

I finally decide to phase back to human when I hear the bustling of cars and noises from the city. I realize then that I have no clothes.

Just fucking great.

I sneak up to someones back yard and praise the gods when I see some men's clothing hanging from a line.

The pants are way too short and the shirt way too tight, but at least I am no longer naked.

I sneak around the side of the house and head down the street, trying to figure out just where I am.

A smirk instantly spreads across my face as the city streets become more congested and I notice a sign saying Los Angeles.

No fucking way.

California.

I have always wanted to come here.

The city streets full of people as I search for a hotel room, glad that my wallet was still attached to my ankle. Guessing that from the looks I am getting from strangers, that I should probably find some actual clothes that fit.

Every one of my surroundings are so new and exciting, I can hardly decide what I want to do first.

Focus Call.

Clothes.

I glance around at all the hot girls.

Fuck!

Dude, get your head out of your pants.

Finally, I notice a clothing store that doesn't seem like it would be too expensive.

I walk inside and head straight to the jeans and grab a couple of different pairs.

Figuring I might as well live it up while I'm here.

Walking over to the shirts, not even looking at the price tag, I grab the nicest looking ones.

Snazzy, Call.

These California girls are going to be drooling all over you.

I grab a pair of shades as I take everything to the register to pay.

The cute blond instantly blushing when I flash her a wink.

Yep, you definitely still got it.

I take the bags and head out the door.

Now to find a place to stay.

Wishing I had a map or something as I walk down the streets. Weaving in and out of the people I finally stumble upon a decent looking hotel.

Putting a cheesy smile on my face as I enter the lobby, hopeful they have rooms available.

Yes, ma'am. I am from out of town and I need a room.

Im not actually sure for how long, but lets start with a week at first.

Thankful when she nods and hands me the key to my room and I head up the elevator.

Hurries into my room, slightly impressed with the suite she had given me.

I glance around and instantly its like the shower is calling my name.

Time to clean up and shave.

Then you can go after the ladies, Call.

Snorts to myself at how cheesy I am sounding.

A few hours pass and I finally crawl out of the big, comfy bed.

Amazed at how much I missed sleeping in a bed.

I mean, the ground is fine as a wolf.

But, nothing beats a king size bed.

Hell, I didn't even have a bed this big at home.

I definitely must invest.

I grab my new black button down shirt and slip it on as I head for the door.

Anxious to get this night started.

I wave at the kind lady in the lobby and head outside to attempt to catch my first taxi.

Couldn't be that hard..Could it?

Boy, I was wrong.

Fuck fuck fuck! Fuck you too! Stupid sons of bitches.

I finally give up and start walking down the street, looking for a bar or something with food and a good stiff drink.

Chester's

I tilt my head to the side as I look at the big, flashing neon on sign and walk inside.

The smell of burgers filling the air.

Shit, this is better than walking twenty more miles.

Noticing they have a bar as I walk in, and head straight towards it.

Ill take a double jack and coke please.

Oh, and the biggest fucking cheeseburger you have, along with two orders of fries.

Laughs when the bartender nods, and looks at me like Im crazy.

But, I literally eat a horse right now.

Glances out of the corner of my eye when a red headed chick walks up to the bar and smiles my way.

Motions for the bartender to come over and I order another drink for her.

Hi, Im Embry.

I flash her my best grin as she takes a seat next to me and introduces herself.

Nice to meet you, Lacey.

"You must not be from around here." she asks.

What gave that away?

"Because, usually just regulars come in here." she said as she takes a drink.

Well, yeah... You are right. Im from Washington.

First time in a city this big.

I guess that's why I stick out.

Thankful when my food comes and I begin shoving the food in my mouth.

I notice Lacey looking at me with wide eyes.

Long trip.

"Ive never in my life." she responded coyly.

I instantly look over at her with smirk.

Me neither.
