Chapter Two- Requiem Stands Are, in Fact, Very Hard to Beat

To say that Giorno was worried was an understatement. He had simply been working peacefully in his office when one of his many brown-nosing subordinates rushed into the room looking genuinely disheveled. When Giorno asked what was wrong, the man (woman? he didn't particularly care so long as they did their job) cried, "That village by Napoli is being attacked by an enemy stand! The Underboss is in danger, sir!"

That made Giorno's heart sink. Mista. . . He couldn't lose anyone else. Not after the Diavolo incident!

"Ready my escort. I want to be there in ten minutes or sooner!" The subordinate nodded their head dumbly and left. Giorno walked outside of Passione's main building and saw his escort waiting for him. This was, in fact, a stand user with a speed ability that could get him to that village in 10 seconds rather than 10 minutes, but the man preferred his ability remain a secret.

Once in the village, Giorno asked around for any strange activity. After the first four people, someone said they saw a boy (whose description fit Mista perfectly) had gone running towards the docks being chased by a swarm of wasps. Giorno made sure to catch his name (Marino) to send him some money as a thank you.

It seemed to take a thousand years to find the docks, but Giorno arrived just in time to see his friend fight back. Mista gave a mighty kick (with the non-wasp-infested leg) at his attackers face and rolled towards the water. However, just before breaking the surface, he knocked his head and quickly lost consciousness.

"Mista!" Giorno shrieked.

"Was that his name?" Giorno turned to face the man whom he had told Mista to track not so long ago. His name, Giorno couldn't say. He was too angry to remember it. "I must say, I didn't catch it! He was a tough brat, I'll give him that! My stand's ability's made grown professionals scream and cry in agony. I made sure to tell him just what a good boy he was being before he died!"

Giorno was more than enraged . . . just who did this man think he was? To oppose Passione . . . to hurt Mista!

"You're going to die." With that, Giorno let Requiem do its work.

.

Once the man was taken care of, Giorno leapt into the water and pulled Mista out. Finding a safe spot on the shore, Giorno began CPR.

"Mista! Mista, come on-"

Mista gave choking gasp and started to breathe. Giorno sighed in relief. Then, he worked on Mista's leg. It was nasty looking, to say the least. The stab was bad enough, but the jagged tunnels the wasps dug through Mista's flesh was particularly disgusting. In the end, Giorno used his stand to turn the drowned bodies of the wasps into the very flesh, nerves, and bone they had destroyed in life. With a smile, Giorno carried his healed (yet still unconscious) friend away from the docks.
