A/N: Hey guys, I am back, hope you guys don't hate me because I am editing all my stories and this is the second story I am editing. Enjoy the second chapter of Spanking. Also, I don't own Come Little Children or it's lyrics. I just borrowed them.

Will kneeled by Horace's bed in the infirmary, watching his friend silently. "Why did they have to do that?" He whispered quietly, unaware of the other person in the room. Horace stirred when Will spoke, waking up. "Will?" He whispered, voice hoarse. "Yeah, I'm here. D'you want water?" Will asked, moving already to pick up the cup of water sitting on the bed stand. "Thanks Will," Horace took the cup and drained the water inside. Noticing Will's red eyes, Horace asked him a question. "Did you get in trouble for fighting again?" Will shook his head, "No, they made it look like I had threatened them into beating you. No one believed me that I tried helping you." Horace was shocked. "They didn't? Oh they did. I'm sorry Will. I'll help you get this fixed." Horace promised, making his small companion smile. "Thanks Horace." Will filled the cup with water and handed it back to Horace. Horace nodded, about to say something, only to be interrupted by a cool feminine voice. "Horace, you're awake, and whose this with you?" The grey eyes nearly glowed in the dimly lit room. "Will, what are you doing in here at this time? It's very late and you should be in bed, sleeping, not here in the castle. Halt need to keep a better eye on you. Now say bye to Horace and I'll take you back to the cabin." Pauline said, looking sternly between the two best friends. Will nodded and said goodbye to Horace before being led down to the courtyard by Pauline. "Will, what really happened today?" The courier asked the child. "I was going to see Horace again when I saw the older boys beating up Horace. Then they asked if I was sat-sat-sat, um happy with what I had done. They smiled meanly and left, leaving it as if I had threatened them to beat up Horace." Will looked pleadingly at Pauline, needing her to believe he was telling the truth. "I believe you Will." She said, placing him on her mare before mounting up herself. She took the reins and the mare started trotting down the path.
The two arrived at Halt's cabin not long after setting out. Pauline dismounted and lifted the sleepy Will out of the saddle, carrying him up the stairs. She knocked lightly on the door and it opened quickly, revealing an anxious Halt. "Pauline, come in." Halt smiled, taking Will from her when he saw who she was holding. He quickly put Will down to sleep in the child's room, closing the door silently. "Thank god that he's okay. Thank you Pauline for bringing him back here. Where did you find him?" Halt offered her a place to sit on the couch, sitting after she had. "He was talking with Horace. You should know he didn't do anything, Halt. It's those buys who are always bullying them. Don't be too harsh on him in the morning, Halt. Treat him fairly and let him explain. You need to start giving him a chance to explain things before you react." Pauline stared seriously at Halt, knowing he got the message. "I understand. It was just a shock, and I didn't think. Sometimes I wonder if I'm cut out for parenting." Halt sighed, leaning back. "It's hard, but worth it when you see Will, isn't it?" Halt nodded. "And being able to help him and be his dad probably has its perits too." Pauline smiled at Halt, before standing. "I need to get back, but remember what I said and it will be fine with Will." Pauline left, leaving Halt to mull over his thoughts before going to bed himself.

Will thrashed in bed, tensed up and whimpering quietly. Halt woke, having heard the whimpers. Getting out of bed, Halt walked into Will's room, and upon seeing his son thrashing in bed, he ran over to the bed. His touch soothed Will a little, and he sat on the bed, humming quietly. Will woke, looking around wildly. "Hush, Will, it's okay." Halt hugged his son, singing softly,

Halt laid the now sleeping Will back on the bed, pulling up the blanket, smoothing Will's hair back before lightly kissing the boy's forehead. "G'Night son, I love you very much." Will's father whispered and turned to the door, only to be stopped by a small hand. "Night dad, love you too..." Will mumbled, a smile on his small face. Halt smiled back before going back to his own room and falling asleep on the bed.

A/N: Hope you guys are happy now that I decided to post another chapter. I might end up posting a third chapter (I will, obviously) and hope you enjoy this one first.
