JohnCrockgen: hehehe, pretty "rad" ical.
Me: Thank you for destroying me by unleashing the truth. Now let me introduce you to Firiony vore.
Anyway, let's see what exceptions I have today.
Currently, Oshawott was running away from a gigantic group of Beedrill within the forest. Oshawott now had been on the run for a week from any aggressive Pokemon ever since he woke up. His circumstances of waking up were quite unusually that day.
He felt a rift within himself, flowing around in the darkness that surrounded him the entire time. He had been stuck in this realm for a while now. For how long, he didn't know at all. He didn't feel any emotions during that period of being stuck in darkness. But then, his eyes let light through for the first time. He saw the beautiful, green grass for the first time. He saw the oak and birch trees that swayed in the wind slightly. He felt himself shivering due to himself. He did not know why, because it was warm outside. He tried to think of a reason why, but only one memory could pop up in his mind.I am a human…
He did not know why he thought of such a silly thing. That was the only memory he would grasp upon. He looked down at his feet. Wait. Those are not human feet. He freaked out a little bit, and then he stared at his hands, to which it turned into paranoia. He then accidentally fell into a pond. He quickly got up to shake himself out. To confirm all of his hallucinations, he turned towards the pond. The reflection confirmed his fears: He had turned into a Pokemon, specifically a Oshawott.
He panicked for quite a while, trying to comprehend what he had become. He knew shape-shifting was impossible except for a Mew, so he couldn't transform into a Pokemon by accident. After looking through all of his options, he definitely knew he was a Pokemon that wasn't stuck in another dream. Life was definitely going to suck for him. For starter, he did not understand any moves at all, he did not know how to communicate with others at all, and he did not enjoy being an Oshawott at all. He would've preferred to be a Fenekin or a Piplup, but being an Oshawott with a strange shell hanging on your body did not sound that great to him. After a long while of comprehending, he calmed down from it. He knew panicking would get him nowhere. He would need help to find answers and hopefully be revealed his old memories. He ran off for help.
"Anyone here?" he called out. He did not even know if this was his actual voice as a human or not. He repeatedly called out the same sentence as he walked around. He repeated and repeated for what seemed hours until he gave up. The power of hunger ruled over his desire for help. He thus began scanning for any food at all. Even that took a very long while before he could find anything. When he managed to spot something for him to consume, it was at a neat row of trees producing Oran berries. Perfect. He then immediately ran to the tree. It was high up, but he just used his shell to hit the tree, knocking a berry down. He ate the purple, juicy berry in silence, restoring his previous state. It does taste different, but it is edible. After he finished his berry, he began restoring back to his previous task for asking for help.
"GET OVER HERE!" a very angry voice called out. The Oshawott freaked out and hid in a bush. He did not realized that the Oran trees were owned by someone. If a human came over, then he was screwed for good. He attempted to blend in with the bush, trying to conceal every single part of his body. After a while, someone did indeed run over to see who had trespassed his berries and stole one of them. But what scared was not the fact of who he was, but making this world he was living in even more stranger. It was a Nuzleaf.
"If you reveal yourself, I promise no punishment besides a warning!" the Nuzleaf called out in a sweet voice. Oshawott did not risk it at all. The only personality trait that remained from his previous life was trust issues. Even though Oshawott did not trust this Nuzleaf, he was even freaked out by the fact that he can understand him. It probably confirmed even more that this was a different world and not Earth. But it should mean that communicating with other Pokemon should be easier. He remained as motionless as much as possible. Then the two of them heard a twig snapping somewhere.
"AHA!" the Nuzleaf realized. He began running down toward the source of the noise. It did not come from Oshawott, but it came from a different part of the forest. The Nuzleaf began running down with his pitchfork to catch his false criminal. Once Nuzleaf disappeared from sight, he began running away in the opposite direction while grabbing another Oran berry that fell to the ground. He did not stop running at all. He probably ran until his legs became so sore that he fell to the ground. The Nuzleaf realized the sound was false and kept looking around for a while, but found nothing. Oshawott crawled all the way to a tree and attempted to climb it, but his red legs wouldn't hold for more than two seconds. He resorted to sleeping in a bush for the night, even though he had only been awake for two hours. He fell in a dreamless sleep before finishing his other Oran berry.
And that was how his first day upon his first world started. Over the course of the first week, he faced similar situations toward the first day. He would ask for help until he got hungry. He would be chased if he was stealing from someone, and he would keep running until his legs collapsed. That was the cycle to his life currently.
But today was different. He was being chased by something indeed, but the situation that result in this was different. A Farfetched had indeed heard his cry for help, to which he recommended that he went to Lively Town, where the Expedition Society lived at. He was told to take the very old paths that the humans left behind in myths. It was basically metal and wood strapped together, but it connected so many towns that the Pokemon decided to use them to travel. When he began traveling on one to get his way to Lively Town, he had encountered some Beedrill trying to sell their farm produce. They kept pressuring him to trade with them, but Oshawott did not understand how their system of trade worked, especially to their currency. Eventually, Oshawott just ran off. The first time Oshawott turned his back, the Beedrill were indeed chasing them, but they brought friends with them.
Now, he was being chased by a bunch of yellow insects that just wanted him to coerced with. He had been running away from them for a while now, probably an hour. They probably would've gave up, had they not realized that instead of running after him, they could fly after him. They also laughed sometimes since they know that he was tiring out also. His legs had also become sore now and he couldn't get faster than them. The Beedrill were getting faster then he did. Eventually, he would have to give up and face the torture of them. Actually, he decided that he would not give up without a fight. He realized that since he was a Water-type, he had the type-advantage and he remembered some basic moves like Aqua Jet, Slash and Scratch, although Scratch would be ineffective, so he should stick with the other two. To begin his plan, he slowed down a bit to let them catch up to him. Then he would just stop entirely and remain motionless. The Beedrill stopped in confusion except for the leaders.
"You finally decided to give in?" one of the leader Beedrill asked in amusement. Oshawott just stood there, with absolutely no movement. He walked up behind Oshawott. "Have you gone mental, just standing there like a statue?" he continued, but with his comrades snickering also. Suddenly, Oshawott turned around, grabbed his shell, and slashed at his opponent. The Beedrill was knocked all the way towards his other comrades. The other Beedrill looked at their leader, to which he already fainted. All those years of farming had gave him strength, but not health. They turned angrily like what any human who made fun of their best friend. Oshawott stood there, muttering with a dark tone.
"No." The Beedrill army began their assault on Oshawott.
Oshawott just kept using the same strategy for every Beedrill that came towards him. He would fire Aqua Jet to get behind them and then Slash them until they fainted. It seemed to be working, but now he was beginning to feel the power of hunger. Sometimes, he would be hit by a Beedrill just because he was thinking about that Oran Berry that was near them. But for most of the time, he held his concentration, slashing out at every Beedrill. After a long battle, he slashed out at another Beedrill, to which he saw one Beedrill remained after the previous one fainted. It was one of the original traders. And he was clapping for him.
"Congratulations! You have defeated all of my comrades and had bested my co-worker. I am impressed by you courage and concentration, but really, it is extremely rude to beat them all up still," he complimented him before reaching for his backpack. He then pulled out a rainbow-colored stone from it. Oh no.
"It is a shame to see you die alone, but it is necessary for business to move on without our secret being discovered. Goodbye, you little platypus." Oshawott knew that they hated him, but that was an insult that hurt personally. The Beedrill activated the stone.
All of the colors of the universe came out of the Beedrill, blinding Oshawott for a while as the light grew larger. By the time all of the light was gone, Oshawott was now terrified at what the Beedrill had become. The Beedrill now had a larger stinger, a larger head, and larger wings, along with a sleek new paint style. This is what happens when a Beedrill Mega Evolves. Oshawott was definitely screwed.
He jumped towards his opponent using Aqua Jet, hopefully trying to use the same trick he did to destroy the other Beedrills. This time though, the Beedrill simply few out of the way.
"Sorry sir. Were you trying to hit this?" the Mega Evolved Beedrill then fired a Solar Beam at him, blasting him all the way towards a tree. Oshawott felt severe pain on his back, as he struggled to get up and reach for his Oran Berry.
"I just love how you were so confident over there, only to be shattered by me," The Mega Beedrill dramatically attacked him. Oshawott attempted to back away, but his legs were exploding right now. The Mega Beedrill realized the pain he was feeling. "Anyway, time to finish you off with-" suddenly, a giant mass of flames narrowly missed the Beedrill. The Beedrill immediately turned around surprised. "WHAT?" he yelped. The Beedrill began to panic. When Oshawott cleared his eyes, he realized that two beings had saw the light and came to his rescue. They were a Litten and a Braixen. They were wearing golden badges on themselves. Oshawott did not recognize what the badges were at all.
Braixen immediately rose up, grabbed the sacred stick that was individual to every Braixen ever, and a giant ball of flames rose up, swallowing the Beedrill whole. It was a giant ball of light and beauty that Oshawott would never unseen again. By the time the flames cleared out, the Beedrill remained, but the move was super effective against him, to which he devolved back to a normal Beedrill.
"And yet I thought I would finally get revenge for my comrades," the now normal Beedrill muttered angrily as he flew away, not eager to be blasted off into space by a giant ball of flames. As soon as they assured that the Beedrill would not return, the Braixen and Litten immediately rushed to Oshawott's aid, who was limping.
"Can't believe how big a beating you got from that Solar Beam," the Litten spoke first in a British accent. Pokemon have accents? (Yes Oshawott. They apparently do)
"It's probably best if we take you to Lively Town," the concerned Braixen realized in a feminine voice. It was the strangest feeling ever. Just imagined being tiny and being lifted up by some giant. He felt a gush of wind as he was lifted up back into a standing position. The Oshawott decided to use his shell as support.
"Thank you all," Oshawott spoke to Braixen and Litten.
"We mainly did it because we had to," Litten commented.
"Fin!" the Braixen yelled at him angrily. Pokemon names. Just even more stranger…
"Do not flame up due to your anger, Braixen. We had to rebuild a home because of your temper."
"I do not have a temper!"
"Suit yourself, because this is your chance to get back into good standing," Fin spoke before facing towards at Oshawott.
"Can… we go now?" Oshawott asked nervously. He now wondered if they could even lead the way to Lively Town.
"Sure. I will lead the way!" Fin began walking on the metal paths, to which the tempered Braixen and the limping Oshawott followed. It was already the afternoon when Oshawott could finally continue on to Lively Town. Now that there were two escorts, he wouldn't have to deal with any more hostile Pokemon. He decided not to tell them the fact he was human because one, they didn't seem knowledgeable and two, they would probably think he was crazy due to #1. The sky during their journey did not change at all. Just the same old blue. Midway through the journey, Braixen started to look bored, to which Fin took notice.
"Do not light a tree on fire. We know what happens," he spoke.
"But do you know how long it took to get here?" the Braixen complained.
"To distract yourself, how about you talk to you disadvantage," Fin implied Oshawott. Braixen groaned in boredom and face towards him.
"So, what is your name?" she asked Oshawott. What? This was a question that Oshawott did not want to answer. He only remembered one thing, not even his personality, and there is a Braixen that he barely knew that asked for his name. He will have to come up with a name for himself here until he can figure out how to get out of this strange world. He thought of a random list and then choose randomly.
"It is Cloro," he answered. This would become his permanent identity here.
"So, Cloro, what were you doing before the Beedrill attacked?" she continued asking. That is at least an easier question to answer.
"I was trying to get to Lively Town," he answered confidently.
"For what?" **** Cloro swore inside his head. He should've answered it differently to make it easier to answer future questions. He would have to tell a small lie than give the painful truth. He recognized that he was also going to the Expedition Society for answers. Maybe he could use it as a way to tell the small lie.
"To… join the Expedition Society?" he answered very nervously. The Braixen got a surprised look in her face. The face took into a smile, and then into a laugh. It was probably the longest laugh he had ever experienced. Fin probably was charging a Fire Whirl to shut her up.
"I don't know if you can join the elite at all," she spoke, probably dismantling his lie, but Fin brought hope to the lie working.
"Actually he could. We actually watched you fight the Beedrill earlier," Fin spoke, to then Braixen's brain stuttered.
"Right! You could possibly join, since you managed to defeat all of those Beedrill with concentration, well, except the mega-evolved one. But that is up to Ampharos, the leader of the Expedition Society." That gave him a glimmer of hope.
"So, what does it take to become a member?" Cloro asked. The Braixen thought for a bit before answering his question.
"Well, one has to be cooperative, caring, and determined to help the world of Pokemon. Along with capable of dealing with difficult dungeon." DUNGEONS?!
"What are dungeons?" Once he asked that question, Braixen gave him a confused glare.
"That's strange. The only other Pokemon that I knew that spoke such question was-"
"Braixen, we do not speak of her," Fin suddenly interrupted.
"Right. You'll know why when we meet her. She is such a disgrace to us. I do not understand why Ampharos had to use Exception #36," Does this mean that he wasn't the only one cursed of being a human before? He will have to find out when he meets their leader, Ampharos.
"Also, we are here at Lively Town!" Fin spoke before Cloro suddenly rushed to see the large Lively Town. Lively Town was possibly the greatest sight he had ever seen. There were many houses, shops, and buildings you could see from the view. There is many elevation changes within the town itself. The ocean that surrounds the continent arrives at this town, ready to knock it down if necessary A giant cyan building sits on the tallest building, likely the Capitol of the town. Cloro was awed by the giant sight of the city.
"Alright, let's find the doctor/nurse here," Fin spoke before he walked on to the town. Cloro and Braixen trailed behind.
The town looked even prettier when you were inside of the town. You could see more of the rose bushes, trees, and the citizens of the town. Cloro observed a Cofagrigus attempting to sell gold to wandering Pokemon, a bunch of Pokemon laughing at what seemed to be a cafe, and some watching a Wobbuffet sing in public as it received claps at a park. It was truly a wonderful town. Some Pokemon gave Braixen glares, to which she smiled nervously.
"Why are they giving her glares?" Cloro whispered to Fin.
"Remember her temper, sir. Do not get in her path at all. The effects could be scarring," Fin answered in a dark tone. Cloro just looked with a face with either terror or worry.
"Eh h-alright." As they continued walking across, a Meowth caught their attention out of the crowd, waving at them and calling out Braixen.
"Meowth!" Braixen realized and rushed over. She then gave Meowth a nice, big hug, to which he blushed. Fin and Cloro was stood there like a third and/or fourth wheel. Eventually, she sat Meowth back down.
"You have any footage for me to turn into a film?" he asked.
"No. We are just on our way to the nurse to give this Oshawott treatment," she answered while implying Cloro.
"Well, the nurse is in the Expedition Society building. Bunch of attacks have been happening recently," Meowth concerning spoke. Yes. Cloro was able to do both tasks at once.
"Oh. Well, thank you!" Braixen then began running up the hill that had the Expedition Society building on.
"Wait up!" Fin called out as he lifted Cloro on his back and began taking off. It was difficult holding on to a Litten, but Litten were strong Pokemon and could hold up anything well. Eventually, Braixen came to a stop at the entrance of the round, cyan building. This is the Expedition Society? I thought this was some sort of office building. Braixen grabbed her badge and then scanned it at some sort of scanner. The scanner went green, to which the doors to the Society opened. Cloro, Fin, and Braixen were surprised at what they saw.
There was no one at all in the lobby except for a Pikachu as the receptionist at the lonely desk. A hologram of the Pokemon planet rolled behind him. Cloro did not understand why Braixen and Fin were concerned about there being only a single Pokemon in this place. They approached the receptionist.
"Excuse me, but do you know where Nurse Chansey is?" Braixen asked Pikachu. The Pikachu just gave them a depressing face.
"Not my department," the Pikachu spoke softly and in a monotone voice.
"But you are literally the receptionist," Braixen pointed out. Pikachu just looked at the sign upon him, realizing that it is correct. Pikachu sighed before he gave them his answer.
"Alright, she is in the Society Emergency Room, but she is busy tending to three Pokemon." Cloro watched their eyes widen when Pikachu spoke about the three Pokemon. Braixen immediately grabbed Cloro and the three of them rushed to the room.
When they arrived to the room, they saw three beds laid out, each of them containing a Sceptile, a Krookidile, and an Archen. They had several cuts, bruises, and one of them had signs of poisoning. As the three of them absorb the shock of the injuries, they see an Ampharos and a Chansey talking to each other.
"I couldn't identify the source of these injuries," the Chansey spoke first.
"A powerful Pokemon could've attacked them," the Ampharos.
"But it does not explain the regular moves becoming more powerful."
"A single Pokemon with a Mega Evolution Stone could've attacked them."
"We'll just see when they wake up in four weeks."
"Wait! Four weeks! They are in a coma?"
"Yes. It was the only way to treat them. They will remain this way until the four weeks pass, to which we will get the information behind this attack."
It was only after they talked about the comas when the two of them realized that Braixen, Fin, and Cloro was here. Ampharos freaked out.
"BRAIXEN! It… it is so great to see you right now," Ampharos greeted them nervously.
"What on Earth happene- never mind that. We have an Oshawott that needs treatment," Braixen originally was going to say, but then realized her current task. The Chansey walked over to see Cloro's current state. She looked carefully at his legs.
"Just a bruise! But don't worry! Some Carbos will fix that!" she then ran over to her cabinet, to which she grabbed a small vial of Carbos. She rushed over to Cloro and stuffed the vial into his face. It tasted like cooked brussel sprouts. Once all of the Carbos landed in his stomach, he began feeling pleasure within him. But after a few seconds, the feeling went away and all of the pain in his legs had subsided. "Just make sure you don't run for the next few hours!" Chansey spoke. Cloro gave his thanks as Chansey was applying the bandages to his legs. Now that his injuries were tended to, he could find Ampharos and talk to him. Luckily, Braixen was doing the talking with Ampharos.
"He was actually doing well facing the Beedrill until one of them Mega-Evolved. The Beedrill fired only one blast before we intervened," she spoke her case to Ampharos.
"I am going to talk to the Oshawott then," Ampharos spoke next. Braixen giggled as the Ampharos began approaching to Cloro. Chansey just finished the last of treatment to Cloro before she began observing the three victims on the beds.
"So, what is your name?" Ampharos asked Cloro.
"It's Cloro," he answered back.
"It seems that your battle with the Beedrill lasted victorious until the mega one appeared. You seemed to deal with them effectively by realizing their weaknesses and using them to your advantage. I think I will consider adding you to the Expedition Society," he continued on. Cloro did not expect to be accepted that fast. It seemed to be amazing enough to be part of the society that fast. Yet, he remembered that Braixen had said you need to be cooperative, caring, and determined to join the Society. He looked at all of the three characteristics, yet so far, he hadn't comply with the law by stealing from farmers, he was only determined to survive, and the caring characteristic he didn't know he had or not.
"I don't know if I am cut out for the job," the Oshawott respectfully declined. The Ampharos was surprised by his decision.
"What? Why not?" he asked Cloro. Cloro decided to unleash the truth upon them. He may find himself stupid, but it was the only way.
"Well, I was a former human! I do not know how I got here, but I remember that I was a human before. I was trying to survive in the wild before the Beedrill appeared. I did not cooperate because I was breaking the law to find food, I do not know if I am caring or not, and I was only determined to survive." The Ampharos slowly let it absorbed him. This was not the first case he had encountered where a Pokemon was a human. He did not why they keep appearing. Jirachi had told him that it was probably a prophecy, but Ampharos knew that five different prophecies had been fulfilled by six different societies, with one of them being in this society, mainly the Dark Matter one. Ampharos knew that the Oshawott was confused. Former humans rarely turned up at all. Maybe he has amnesia. Even if the Oshawott was telling the truth, he still needed him. With three members out cold, they needed to train some new members. Hey! He was the leader; he could change the rules whenever he wanted, I mean whenever he needed to.
"Despite all of what you just said, I will make an exception," Ampharos spoke.
"There he goes with his Exception #37," Braixen muttered to Fin.
"You are invited to the Expedition Society still," Ampharos announced. Once he spoke that, everyone turned towards Cloro. He can't believe his luck at all. Even after all that he said, the Ampharos still wanted him in. He still had many doubts in him about the Society, but then he looked at the members in their comas. The Society was probably unstable right now, to which they need members badly to take their positions. Guess he will be just another member in the Society.
"I… guess… I accept… your invitation," the Oshawott nervously answered. The Ampharos smiled.
"Alright then. Orientation will be tomorrow after breakfast. Braixen will explain some other details that are necessary. Anyway, I need some rest after today." Ampharos began walking through a door at the back. A couple of seconds later, Braixen then grabbed him and began leading him out.
SCREAM!
All of the Pokemon suddenly jumped by the scream. Only Fin seemed to be stationary the entire time. Once all of the noise cleared out, Ampharos popped into the room again, but he was burnt like overcooked turkey.
"I forgot that was the Fairy Room. They all really want their privacy. My bad," Ampharos realized as he made his way to the other door. After he left, Braixen and Cloro left the room also. Fin decided to help Chansey put the unconscious Pokemon into comfortable positions.
Braixen as he led Cloro the way to the bedrooms explained the basics of the Society.
"Ampharos is the leader, Mawile is the archaeologist, Jirachi is the inventor and the astronomer, Buizel is the marine explorer, Archen takes care of aerial exploration, Dedenne is the communication expert, Bunnelby deals with the underground world, and Swirlix is the cook. Here at the Society, we strive to make this world safe, friendly, and deal with threats to such guidelines."
Eventually, they reached a hallway where it showed the rooms of each member.
"You will be partnered with someone else. We already made our decision, but your partner is currently asleep, so we will partner you tomorrow. For now, enjoy your time in your room. He was then taken to Room A113. In the room, he found a closet where he could put some belongings in, a straw bed, and a lantern. It wasn't much, but it was way better than what he had to deal with the previous week.
"Anyway, see you tomorrow!" she smiled before closing the door. Cloro was now left alone. Just him and the bacteria. He walked towards his straw bed and laid on it. It felt way better than his previous beds. Just feeling the smooth, yet comfortable straw consuming you. He can't believe his luck in getting in the Expedition Society that fast. But there is that thought that nagged him. Was he really cooperative, caring, and determined? Would he be a let down to his fellow members of the society? Before he continued on with negating himself, he forced himself in a dreamless sleep. He hoped he could learn some more information about humans. But for now, he needed sleep.
Two weeks ago…
Teremy did not like waking up one second every month while in the ice. Time seem to go by very fast since unconscious time works faster than regular time. But that was the equivalent of being up for 33 hours. It felt like a very long time, being surrounded by heat sort of and enjoying life as it past. He couldn't see anything at all, but he bet the end result was going to be terrible. During his next month passing, he felt the ice cracking. A couple of seconds later, he fell to the ground.
"OWWWW!" he grunted in pain from hitting his knee. Wait a second. He opened his eyes for the first time in ten thousand years and saw what the laboratory had became. Run down by bacteria, vines, and algae, an obvious indicator that time indeed had passed. The procedure had indeed worked. Teremy was celebrating in excitement as he was yelling out loud.
"Nosredna! Nosredna! It had indeed worked!" But as he was celebrating, he realized that Nosredna couldn't hear him at all. He was still trapped and frozen in his own chamber. Of course he fancied himself before entering the chamber, with his hair and suit. Even though Nosredna was still frozen, it was cracking itself due to insulation problems. Nosredna would be out of the ice soon. Teremy would just have to wait an hour before Nosredna began making the plan. He knew little about the plan that would happen after they melted; he only knew that they would take a tunnel to the mainland. As he waited for Nosredna, he began scouting for a tunnel.
The train station was probably Nosredna's great feat. The tunnel network allowed all factories controlled by the corporation to be connected by train, to which Nosredna Corporations quickly grew massive and became the largest railroad owner in modern history until humanity went haywire. Even after ten-thousand years, the train station the headquarters had still was in alright shape. Vines and algae had grown, but very little of the train station had collapsed. Only two train tunnels led to the mainland though, and who knows how long it will take to travel from the Alola region to the mainland. Teremy scoured the train station and looked in the train tunnels to determine its safety. Eventually, he found a tunnel that looked pretty safe for him and Nosredna to travel in. He then promptly returned back to the room.
When he returned, he almost forgot to wind up his flashlight. He was so used to being in the dark that he could see pretty well in the dark. Nosredna however was as blind as a mouse in the dark. When he looked at the chamber where Nosredna had been, he saw him panting for air, with all the ice in his chamber all melted away like marshmallows. Nosredna's hair had been messed up due to how wet his black hair was. Teremy tried his best to not snicker at his hair. A couple of minutes passed by after his boss had been released.
Teremy started getting concerned of how his boss is not moving at all. If he died in the chamber, then Teremy is screwed since only Nosredna knew where the food pantry was and how to get out of this place. He slowly approached the body of Nosredna assumingly and took a better look at him. His skin looked paler, which wasn't a good sign, although he had been pale ever since he came out of there. Nosredna also seemed to grown shorter, even by a few inches. But that would not hurt the giant that is of 6'6. Eventually, Teremy decided to grab a pole to whack him with. If he didn't respond, then he would assume that he was dead. He reached for the only weapon he had: a long stick made of tin. Right as he was aiming, an arm suddenly sprang up, launching him into the air. Teremy felt some pain in his leg when he fell, but he would live. As he got up, he watched his boss sprang up.
"Already rebelling against your boss? Well then-" Nosredna began accusing, but then paused. He then realized that he was moving, speaking, and outside of a frozen chamber. He suddenly became ecstatic, "It worked! We made it through the war!" Teremy just stood there and watched him celebrate his victory.
"Are you alright?" Teremy asked him. After Teremy asked that question, Nosredna realized that he watched his boss embarrass himself and he began calming himself down.
"Sorry. I get a little excited sometimes," his boss answered. Teremy sighed, now that his boss realized what situation they were in. Nosredna began observing the wreck that his laboratory had became, from the vines to the collapsed rooms. "Alright, now we have survived about ten-thousand years, it is time to figure out what to do for the rest of our lives," he spoke in a professional voice. He began walking out while picking up a checklist, to which Teremy followed him.
The first item on the list was to grab food supplies from the pantry. They walked to the food pantry, which was in alright condition. When the key card that Nosredna used didn't work due to the dead electronics, they spent half an hour prying the gates open with a crowbar and mold. Once they managed to break in the food pantry, they immediately grabbed a semi-preserved apple and ate it whole. They only had enough energy during the freeze to survive, to which they had to eat immediately. Teremy never heard Nosredna bite so loudly into an apple, which was still delicious of course due to Nosredna preservation technology. As soon as they finished their apples, they began loading food onto a sled. Nosredna knew all of the trains would be inoperative condition, to which he prepared a sled ahead of time.
After the break-in at the pantry, they went to the storage room, where Nosredna kept their personal items in at. Nosredna had a box-load of them, while Teremy only had five items. One of them was already in his hand, which was the tin stick that he called Pilka. He possessed the former Poke-ball of his Bulbasaur, to which he released during the nuclear war, a giant book that supposedly contains pictures, but he never could've opened it due to a lock, a strange electronic device that only Nosredna knew how to operate, but didn't allow it, and some Pokemon medicine that he had for no reason. As soon as they loaded their items on the sled, they made their way to the run-down train station.
Teremy made it the train station. Nosredna told him he was going to retrieve one more item before they embarked on their journey. Teremy was enthusiastic about finally leaving the retched laboratory he called home for a few months and so many years. But he also felt fear within himself. They had no idea what happened to the world after the nuclear war. It could be a barren wasteland, a paradise, or a society that had successfully rebuilt. He didn't know. Nosredna said that it would likely be a paradise, but with no humans at all, which frightened him. He enjoyed having all of the interactions with humans, but if they are not around anymore, then who was he to be? Before he thought deeper into the subject of what could be out there, Nosredna finally came back with his Eternity Stone in his hand.
"That is everything. So, it is time to explain more of this plan," Nosredna began. "We will travel down the B5 Train Tunnel for about 3 weeks before we reach the mainland. As soon as we arrive at our destination, we will investigate this new land and see if there are any more of humanity around. If there are, then we will join them and shall live the rest of our lives with them. If not, then we will follow the orders of whatever society is here now for the rest. Any questions?"
Teremy shook his head and gave the usual answer.
"Alright then. It is time to kiss this place goodbye and get out of here before it-" just at that moment, a bridge near the time fell on the ground. Soon, more pieces of debris came down the laboratory. The Nosredna Corporation was collapsing.
"Run! We will likely cover 20 miles today if we are lucky!" Nosredna shouted as he took off running. Teremy followed with the rail-sled. They turn on their lights and disappeared into the tunnel below as the laboratory they called home for so long collapsed behind them. The B5 Train Tunnel was infamous due to the smell of cabbage-soup left behind from the Soup Train Collision. It was going to be a great month.
And just like that, Chapter 1 of "What Am I?"has been completed. Finally introduced the main protagonist, but the deuteragonist will be introduced in the second chapter. Also, the humans will not appear for a few chapters to indicate that time had passed. But, may I get some sweet, sweet review please? I will review them. Anyway, goodbye.
Ampharos had no idea what to do with that Oshawott. He had just recruited him just before dusk, but now he needed to pick his partner by tonight. He already had plenty of responsibilities to deal in the Society, but dealing with new recruits were no easy task. He looked at the very small qualifications sheet he had, which included the three guidelines, Care, Determine, and Cooperate. He seems to be showing signs of care, but he didn't know his determination and cooperation. He decided to foreshadow and made him cooperative and determined. That way he could begin looking at the partners list.
He then grabbed the other sheet which contained members that needed partners. Vulpix was too wild and two wild Pokemon partnered together always end out terribly. Haunter would likely spook Cloro out. He looked at the sheet for about an hour. At one point, he collapsed to which he regained his footing. He definitely needed some sleep. He then grabbed pg. 2 of the list. He then saw the perfect candidate for Cloro. Someone that was strong, yet very timid and uncooperative. And that is- OH NO!
Why her? He remembered that one day, he saw a tall Pokemon dropping her off near the metal paths. She was very cold, fearful, and a bit rebellious. He decided to take her in as a member of the Society. She actually was a great member of the Society when nobody questioned her. But once people started questioning, she grew even more secretive and quiet. Sure, she was a quiet Pokemon, but she still could get the job done. But once the probing started, she only just does the job and retreats back to her room. It just seems that she was doing orders while avoiding everyone unless it was impossible.
Ampharos definitely did not like this at all. But she was the opposite of Cloro. Ampharos needs some sort of way to break her shell down because not only do they need members, but they need members that can outreach to the public. He hopes Cloro can do the job, but he still felt doubts. If this fails, then she will resign from the Society. This would have to be done as carefully as possible.
"Snivy, I think I am going to have maximum regrets from this decision," Ampharos spoke to himself as he grabs a writing tool and the Teams list.
