Chapter 2; My Princess's Paintings

The princess's fear was slowly suffocating her. The darkness was forever growing and the only thing that could stop it was a mystery known only by a few. If the princess can't find the knight soon the darkness will win. Will her knight come to her rescue? Or will it be too late?

When Delci woke up she froze. Where am I? Didn't I fall asleep on the couch? As she continued questioning herself she looked up to see Fakir. He was still asleep and his arms felt strong and safe around her. She didn't know how she'd ended up back in her bed, but some how there she was... and there he was...

She watched him sleep, wishing she had the nerve to wake him up. He really is handsome... when he's not talking... Just then Fakir opened his eyes and let go of her quickly. "What are you looking at?" He pushed her away from him and got off the bed.

"Nothing! I was just... Fakir... How did I get in here?" He blushed and quickly turned his face away.

"You must have come in after I fell asleep. Did you really want to sleep with me that badly?" He looked at her and smirked. "I told you, you're better than nothing. All you had to do was ask." She tried to hide her face, but he pushed her chin up and got close enough she could feel his breath. "I probably would've fucked you."

She slapped him without thinking and he stepped away. "You're such a jerk! I let you stay here and you act like this!" She ran out of the room and hid in the bathroom. "I hate him!" She shouted to herself. He's just a mean pervert! She cried as she sat on the floor in the bathroom.

Fakir stood just outside the door Delci had ran into. I'm sorry... He tried to say it out loud, but he couldn't. I'm a fucking asshole! Why couldn't I just tell her about the nightmares? He reached for the door handle when he heard her. She's crying... Shit!

"Hey... I'm sorry... I know I was being disgusting back there... I..." I just can't act right around her... What the Hell is wrong with me? I should be looking for the damn princess! "I'll leave..." He stepped away from the door right as Delci opened it.

"Do you mean it? Are you really sorry...?" He looked down, knowing he couldn't face her, and nodded. "Then you don't have to leave, right now..."

Shocked, he met her eyes. "You'd really forgive me after being a complete ass?"

"Tell me why I woke up in my bed." He sighed and felt his entire body relax.

Fakir sat down on the floor and explained how he'd found her crying and talking in her sleep. When he finished telling her everything she reached out her hand and rested it on his shoulder. "There's something I should tell you."

He stood up and they walked to her bedroom. He followed her with his eyes as she traced over the various paintings on the walls. "When I was little my dad used to tell me the same story every night. 'Once upon a time, there lived a young princess. She'd grown up in a big castle with her parents always by her side. Unfortunately no matter how wonderful things seem to be; there'll always be a darkness lurking. Nobody knew this better than the princess.'" This seems a bit twisted to tell a child. He thought to himself as she continued. "'For months she had felt something evil roaming around the castle, but she could never find it. Until one horrible night when the darkness revealed itself. She was in far more danger than she knew and an experienced knight was the only one that could save her from the darkness. The knight was sent to save this princess. Her fear was slowly suffocating her.'" No way! He stared at her in shock as she spoke of her father's old story. She's the princess?! She's MY princess?! Fakir couldn't believe it. "'The darkness was forever growing and it's said that when the princess and her knight are united a bond will be created and the darkness will fall.'"

She stopped as her fingers traced over the last painting, an uncolored rose with petals that seemed to explode from one side of the flower. Fakir didn't know what to say. He had found his princess after two months of searching and he couldn't think of how to tell her. If she didn't believe the story was real, then it wouldn't matter what he said. He had no way to prove it to her.

"My father always said the ending depended on me... All the story has ever given me is nightmares since they died." Delci clenched her fist and looked down. Fakir couldn't stop himself from standing in front of her and pulling her into his arms.

She tried to fight his hold for a second, but after that she relaxed in his arms and cried. "Shhhh... It's okay..."

Well, I found her... but what do I do now?

[I'm sorry it took so long to add another chapter to this. Ugh. School. I'd love some feedback if you read my story~ Comments are always welcome :)]
