Car wheels, honks, people talking, children laughing, dogs barking, the shouts of people selling merchandise.
Life flowed through the Norwegian's ears.
While it was slightly annoying to hear, it was also comforting, like if eveything was okay, like he was safe.
He flickered through radio stations, until he found a nice melody of a violin playing.
"How was your day, son?"
He asked, cerulean eyes looking at the young child.
"Good enough. Days are always better when the bully chinese kid gets scolded."
Lukas raised an eyebrow at his son's response. He talked to said child's tutor a time or two, and he knew he wasn't as educated and well-manered as Eiríkur. But still, that wasn't a valid reason to do such comment.
"You mean Li Xiao?" Lukas did not exactly know the child's name, but Li Xiao was the name he remembered.
Eiríkur nods his head, a slight look of deviousness in his eyes.
"You got in a fight with him, Eiríkur?" He says, in a scolding tone. "I thought you knew better than that. You do know he's not as good as you, right?"
The child nods his head once again, the deviousness in his eyes fading away, retuning to his calm, innocent self.
"I know. It's just he's a bit of an ass."
Oh no. No no no no nononononononono!
The word spinned around his head, it alarmed him even more hearing said word, in his beloved, perfect, innocent, well mannered child's voice.
The car stopped, and the Norwegian's voice suddendly filled the once-harmonious car.
"Eiríkur, who taught you that word?"
The child looked at his father worriedly, fear in his eyes, as he stuttered one word.
"Tino."
He gripped the wheel of the car.
He was going to have to talk to Tino later.
Anyways, he continued driving.
After they wee about four blocks from their home, he spoke again.
"Son, i am not angry at you. I just want to protect you. That is a word i would like you not to use, okay?"
The child nodded his head.
When they were home, he felt a small hand hold his own. When he turned to face his child, he was welcomed by a warm, childish smile from his son.
He smiled back, and carried him inside.
