Hachi was enjoying her nap on a desk when Mamoru walks in and tosses his chef uniform on the unexpecting Kawmi. Hachi struggles trying to find a way out of the blouse.
"Waah... What's the big idea!?" Hachi yells, finally popping her head out of an armhole.
"It's already noon... Anyway, I'm heading out to buy a phone. Wanna come?" Mamoru asks as he puts on a hoodie.
"Sure, but aren't you forgetting something?" Hachi asks, hovering over a black and white scarf with a particular design.
"I'm not bringing that thing, it's too hot anyway." he says, checking his wallet for cards and cash before placing it into his back pocket.
Hachi just pouts and floats over to find a seat in his hood. They go past his grandparents and chant before leaving the front door. Mamoru was right, it was hot and from the sound of things, there was some commotion that was happening near the high school, but he was going the opposite direction. He walks past a few places such as Tom & Sabine Boulangerie Patisserie and La Seine, then eventually reaches a small cell phone carrier store. He strolls in and begins to browse the merchandise, the clerks quickly come to provide services trying their best to sell the latest touchscreen phone.
"Look, I just need something to call and text." Mamoru says, looking at an old flip phone.
"But don't you want live weather, your favorite shows, even the latest games at your fingertips." The store clerk continues to force the sale.
"I think you've you been training in the mountains longer than you thought." Hachi whispers.
"Shut up (Japanese)" Mamoru answers back.
"Excuse me?" The store clerk asks.
"Nothing, anyway I'll go with this model."
"There is a deal going on with the new smartphone..."
"I would go for that phone you're pointing at, but right now that device is floating and has a mean looking face on it." Mamoru says with a suspicious face, looking upward.
"Huh?"
The store clerk, confused, looks over and screams as the rest of the devices come to life causing mayhem throughout the store. Oddly enough, the only thing that didn't act up was the flip phone. Mamoru took refuge behind a counter and looks around the chaos, watching people fight off sentient phones and the like.
"Hachi, this is the work of a Miraculous user, right?"
"It's more like...um like the work of someone who is controlled by a Miraculous user."
Mamoru just looks at her with a blank face.
"This is the work of the Moth Miraculous, it has the ability to give others superpowers... Also, I told you to bring your Miraculous, Momo!"
Mamoru sighs in defeat and punches an attacking cash register, but grabs his hand in pain after hitting the heavy metal box. The things attacking weren't a big deal, but everyone was panicking as if it was the end of the world. Mamoru takes action, pulling the phone that was on display that he liked causing the security cable attached to it to extend. He proceeds to spin the indestructible phone and launches it at every evil phone there was, smashing them to pieces. When peace was secured in the store, Mamoru returned the phone to its original place, noting the fact that it was unscathed. Mamoru finds a clerk hiding under a desk and tells them that he wanted the phone, no questions. The clerk, still confused, just does what he asks and rings up the sale, then returns to cowering under a table.
He walks outside and finds more trouble, then decides to call his grandparents to test his phone and ensure their safety. Unfortunately the lines were acting up and he had no choice, but to dash home. As he runs he notices two figures running on the rooftops.
"Are those..."
"Yep! I can sense Tiki and Plagg."
"... Are those guys contro..."
"Nope, otherwise I would sense Nooroo."
"I'll get the scarf and..."
"I told you to... Hppphmmm!"
"Let me finish my sentences." Mamoru sternly commands, pinching Hachi's beak closed.
Mamoru retraces his steps, punching and kicking anything that tried to stop him, usually more phones and an occasional vending machine. Upon reaching the store, he was happy to see no one was hurt, but then again all the devices in the store were probably too old to be affected by whatever was causing the machine uprising.
"Oh dear, Mamoru, I think an earthquake is happening outside." his grandmother says with a concerned tone.
"It's probably safer to stay inside." The grandfather adds.
"I'll do that. I need to charge my new phone anyway."
Mamoru rushes upstairs and throws his things on top of his bed and grabs the scarf, wrapping it around his neck before stepping out his window.
"Remember the words?"
"Not gonna say it."
"Ah." Hachi sighs in disappointment.
Mamoru leaps off the ledge and pulls the scarf over his head. A quick flash of light shines in the alley revealing a hooded figure with a black and white color scheme, but more importantly a scarf wrapped around the lower part of his face.
"Still feels pretty tight."
"For a hero, you sure complain a lot." Hachi teases.
"Back to the matter at hand, where are they?"
Hachi happily soars in the direction of the stadium where most of the commotion seemed to be going down. Mamoru runs not too far behind Hachi, once again taking out more machines that decided to get in his way.
Inside the stadium, Ladybug and Cat Noir come face to face with Robustus as he holds his former friend, Max, hostage. What seemed like a losing battle, Robustus finally decides to end the humans getting in its way.
"I am Robustus now! And you betrayed me! I don't wanna be human like you anymore! Humans don't have a heart! And that's exactly why I've decided to get rid of them!"
Robustus attempts to punch Ladybug and Cat Noir, but they managed to dodge.
"Lucky Char..."
Before Ladybug could put her plan into action, the large mecha suddenly cracks in half surprising everyone.
"Whaaat!" Everyone screams.
With Max and Robustus successfully separated, Cat Noir grabs Max and pulls him to safety.
Robustus on the ground, shakes his head to refocus his view and finds another masked fighter standing over him.
"Who are..."
"Where's... Hawk Moth, right?(whispers to Hachi) Where's Hawk Moth, you talking kakigori machine?"
"I am Robustus! How dare you..."
Robustus flies up to his face in outrage, but gets caught in his hand. Without warning two cars come crashing in, hitting Mamoru directly. After the crash, a large dust cloud covers them, but as it settles, everyone looks in disbelief as the figure holding Robustus was unharmed as the two cars were disfigured and wrapped around his form. Before Robustus could voice his bewilderment, he is crushed causing Max to faint. A little akuma glides from the debris but it also gets crushed turning into dust.
"Hachi, how many users are there?"
"Whoa, don't you think you're going a little overboard, buddy?" Cat Noir asks, since Max's best friend was just destroyed before their eyes.
"You're the owner of the cat Miraculous?"
"Who's asking?"
"Don't worry about that. Just know that I'm here to relieve you of your duties. Hand it over." Mamoru commands, holding his hand out while walking towards them.
"Yo, Plagg! Never thought I would see you again after 2...300 years. You too Tiki." Hachi pops out of nowhere, breaking the tension.
"H...Hachi. Why are you here?" Plagg nervously asks.
"Another Kwami?" Ladybug words out.
"Not just any Kwami, Ladybug. It's the Honey guide, in other words we might want to run away." Tiki says with a sweat drop.
"We can't take him. I think we better run too." Plagg says with a nervous smile.
"Can't really back down from a challenge. You can't judge someone just from the first meeting you know?" Cat Noir says and quickly dashes towards him.
Mamoru takes a stance and readies for his overhead attack. He steps in and grabs Cat Noir by his collars and follow ups with a judo throw into a car so hard it almost flips over.
"O...ouch, good thing I have eight more lives. Right, my lady." he says while upside down.
"Make it seven."
Mamoru punches Cat Noir through the car completely and into a concrete wall.
"Stop! Are you working for Hawk Moth?" Ladybug yells, blocking his path to Cat.
"No, but I demand your Miraculouses. I have a job to do."
"We're not the bad guys... not really the good guys either." Hachi pipes up.
"Hachi, why are you here?" Tiki asks.
"I was awakened, therefore the hunt is on. We're just gonna collect the jewels and find a new guardian is all."
Tiki was uncomfortably quiet making Ladybug nervous. In the spur of the moment, Ladybug throws her yo-yo in the air then suddenly energy pulses out, repairing all the damage around Paris. The scene was enough to distract Mamoru completely, allowing Ladybug to escape with Cat Noir and Max. Even Robustus was gone.
"You really dropped the ball on this one." Hachi angrily says.
"How do I even take the Miraculouses if I don't know what they look like?"
"Oh right, maybe I should have explained things better." Hachi does an "oopsy" looking face, only to end up getting pinched again.
"Well let's call it a day. I've scoped out what I'm dealing with and I think I can manage."
Mamoru was about to run off, but felt a presence belonging to Alya as she records him from behind a goal post. He quickly determines that she was no threat and jumps out of the stadium. Running on the rooftops, he notices everything has returned to normal and eventually reaches his room before transforming back to his civilian-self. He planned to fall asleep right then and there, but Hachi turns on the small television only to see a news story with him looking directly at a camera.
"Just in, a new foe has appeared in Paris possibly connected to the recent attacks and not too long ago has given Ladybug and Cat Noir a run for their money. Let us pray our heroes will deal with this new threat with utmost grace... We just received some new information, it seems this evildoer has already been named... people of Paris please beware the "Mobile Fortress" the Honey Badger!" The news anchor presented the story in a dramatic fashion.
Mamoru raised an eyebrow then looks over to Hachi who was holding his new phone.
"Thanks for the info, we'll send that coupon for Tom & Sabine Boulangerie Patisserieright right away."
Mamoru could hear the speaker on his phone as he holds a deadpan staring contest with Hachi before she finally breaks eye contact and flies away in a hurry.
