Nikki: Kay, so a quick recap on the previous chapter! The Millennium Puzzle is an ancient artifact that is said to grant a wish to the person who completes it. Young Yami Atemu has worked eight years on said puzzle, and has finally completed it. As he makes his wish, an ancient spirit from inside the puzzle is released from her tortured bindings. She runs out of the puzzle into the land of living and ends up falling on Atemu. Got that all right?

Hebe: Uh-huh!

Atemu: Sounds accurate.

Nikki: This Chapter is gonna be pretty short due to its' second part being way too long to add to this. Be patient with me, and I'll try to publish it this Friday. Lots to love to my followers and favorites by the way! Now, Hebe-Chan~

Hebe: Yes, Author-sama?

Nikki: Mind doing the disclaimer?

Hebe: *giggles cutely* Okay! SweetNikki825 does not own Yugioh in any way, shape, and fashion.

Atemu: All rights and credit for Yugioh are for the original creators profit only.

Nikki, Hebe, Atemu: Enjoy the Chapter!

"Damn, what hit me?" Atemu cursed as he blinked his eyes furiously to get rid of the black spots covering his vision. His head throbbed with the pressure of hitting the hard, wooden floor.

Not even a minute before, Atemu was sitting at his desk making his wish upon the puzzle. He had closed his eyes for one moment, and then - BAM - something slammed into him with enough force to knock him clean off his chair.

The boy made to sit up, but was stopped by a heavy pressure lying on his chest.

Atemu looked down, and his eyes widened when he saw the body of small girl resting on top of his own.

Like any reasonable person, he opened his mouth and yelled, "WHAT THE HELL?!"

His booming voice caused the girl to wince, tightening the grip she had on his shirt. Moving slowly, she lifted her head and opened her eyes to meet his gaze. Atemu gasped.

The girl had deeply tanned skin, soft features, and wide amethyst eyes. Her hair pooled over her shoulders and onto the chest she was lying on. It was oddly tri-colored; starting blonde at the bangs, then turning black for the rest of the way, and ending in amethyst at the tips.

Just by looking at her, you could see how pretty she was. But that wasn't what made Atemu so shocked.

The girl looked exactly like him! It would be like looking at a reflection in a mirror had there not been a few differences.

Atemu's skin was a fairly pale instead of tanned. His eyes were narrowed and crimson. His features were more defined and serious-looking. His hair was cut short and spiked so that it was styled in a way that defied gravity. He was also male - whereas the girl was clearly the opposite.

Had they stood side by side in public, people would've questioned if they were fraternal twins.

"Who are you?" Atemu asked as he regained his composure. His face turned hard and his eyes narrowed in a silent demand for the answer.

But, as the girl opened her mouth to answer, something seemed to snap in her. Her amethyst orbs rolled into back of her head, and she slumped in a dead faint forward.

Panicked, Atemu placed his hands on her shoulders and shook her lightly. "Hey! Hey, kid, are you alright?!"

"Don't...Don't let them take me. Don't let the darkness hurt me again..."

"What? Darkness?" Atemu felt terribly confused. He held onto the girl's limp body and stared at her blankly as the door to his bedroom banged open.

Solomon burst through the door, his breaths coming in pants as he immediately questioned his young ward, "Atemu, what's wrong? Why weren't you opening the door when I knocked? Why were you yelling? And... who is that girl you're holding?"

The old man looked at the small girl in shock. Her body was covered in bleeding cuts and nasty bruises. The remaining length of white cloth she wore over her body was dirty with grime and torn so badly that it hardly covered anything. She was so small and petite - like a malnutritional child.

Atemu looked to his guardian and shook his head. "I don't know, Solomon-san. But she needs help and quick."

...Timeskip...

Four days, seven hours, twenty-three minutes, and ten seconds.

That was how long the girl had been lying unconscious in the room across from his own.

Every morning before he walked to school, Atemu would peak in to see if she was awake. When he got home, he would do the same thing. It was his part of making sure his ill guest was comfortable, along with a few other chores like: taking plates of food to set on her bedside, stocking the closet and dresser with clothes fit for someone her size, and clicking the lamp on the bedside on and off to make sure she wouldn't wake to darkness in an unknown environment.

"It comes with all the conditions she has," the doctor that Solomon-san called for explained to him on his visit. "Long term dehydration, malnutrition, insomnia, and the presence of constant pain makes the body shut down for a while. Her bruises and cuts are in need of being healed, and her body is using all its' energy to fix it. A week of rest and plenty of water and food should get her on the road to healthy recovery."

I want her healthy, of course, Atemu thought as he walked through the door separating the Game Shop and the main house. But I also want answers. Like how she got into my room in the first place. How she looks so much like me, and how she came to be with all those bruises and cuts on her.

Atemu set his book bag on the counter and picked out a plate from the cupboard. Loading it up with the food leftover in the fridge, he warmed it in the microwave and set off to check on the mysterious newcomer upstairs.

The first odd thing he noticed was the fact that her door was opened. Atemu was almost positive he shut it when he left for school that morning.

The second thing he noticed, was the quiet sound of voices talking to each other in the air.

Did Solomon-san have guests over? Was it another doctor? Curiously, Atemu stepped over the door way and knocked lightly on the wood of the door with the back of his knuckle.

At his entry, two pairs of eyes turned his way. One was Solomon-san's and the other were a pair of amethyst orbs - the girl's.

"Ah, Atemu, you're home. I was just talking about you to our guest here." Solomon nodded to the girl he sat besides. "She's told me a unbelievable story that you need to hear."
