Once the rest of the Paladin's and allies made it through their last wormhole because of the Castle of Lions exploded, while most of them were relieved they made it they were still in shock and in grief one of their friends didn't make it, Lance Pilot of the Red Lion traded his life so Hunk could live another day and got sucked into a sudden black hole that appeared in their wormhole.
Must of them couldn't believe the Paladin of the Red Lion and friend for years was gone they didn't even know if he was alive or not.
"He can't be" Hunk said sadly "He can't be gone"
They landed on a planet and looked to see if this was a nightmare looking inside Red's com link but they only saw an empty chair and no Paladin, Lance really was gone.
"Allura what happened" Pidge asked sadly.
"I don't know, I never seen black holes form in the Wormholes" Allura replied still in shock.
"I think the Castle Exploding caused a malfunction where the energy touched the start making an unexpected Black hole" Coran explained sadly.
"This is all my fault" Hunk said sadly eyes tearing up.
"It wasn't your fault none of us saw this coming" Keith said "the fault is ours we hesitated and were scared" he reasoned.
"We got to do something" Hunk insisted.
"Listen Lance is strong, stronger than we know maybe even than he knows, he won't let one black hole bring him down" Keith assured "we have believe in him" he said.
the other nodded sadly "Are we going to let he's sacrifice be in vain, we all heard him we need to be strong and continue the fight" Keith said strongly "Because I as sure heck not, are you?" he questioned.
"No" They all agreed.
"If we don't than we disgrace his wishes" Keith said "You all want to disgrace him by standing around moping?" he asked.
"No" They shook their heads.
"Good now we need to organize and plan our next move" Keith said.
Minutes later they were looking at a Unconscious Shiro who's Vital were lowering
"Shiro said his consciousness was transverse'd into the Black Lion's" Keith explained.
"I maybe able to help" Allura spoke getting up and walked to Black putting her hands on it she closed her eyes and her cheek marks glowed bluish white and purple energy moved from the tail to the head Allura's form glowed as she pulled Shiro's conscious out of Black's walked over to Shiro put her hands on his head and Shiro's conscious was put in the clones as he glowed, then the rest of his hair turned white.
Allura stepped back and Shiro's eyes opened as he gasped he sat up, he looked around "guys you did it, I'm back thank you" Shiro said.
"Shiro's back" Hunk cheered as they formed a massive group hug.
"Hey Katie, Keith, Hunk, Allura, Coran" Shiro smiled as they broke away, Shiro looked around "Wait, where's Lance?" he asked looking at them the pleasant mood was turned sad and sorrowful "guys where's Lance?" he said.
They closed their eyes and sighed sadly "Lance can no longer be with us anymore" Pidge said with tears forming.
"Wait what" Shiro said in shock.
"Lance is gone, he sacrificed himself to save me" Hunk replied with tears rolling down he wiped them away with a sniff.
"Tell me what happened" Shiro said later the group told former Black Lion Paladin what happened, the wormhole acting weird, a terrible shaking made Hunk eject from his Lion, but Lance with no second thought he jumped from his and right before getting sucked in a unexpected Black hole he gave Hunk he's jetpacks allowing Hunk to live but Lance paid'ed the price for being selfless.
When the story was over Shiro to looked sad and shocked "I would've done the same, if I was conscious I could have helped but I was trapped in a Spirit In the Black Lion's void" he stated sadly "But I do know he would want us to Pick our asses up and continue on" Shiro smiled sadly the other Paladin's and Krolia nodded in agreement, The Altean's looked confused by the word, since they never heard bad human language before.
"What's an ass, for that what's asses?" Romelle asked.
"Ass or asses is another word for butts, a bad word for them" Pidge explained.
"oh" Allura nodded "Well if we're in meetings on other planets don't use any bad words in front of people, it's terribly unprofessional of a Paladin of Voltron to use bad language" she reminded.
"Thats why we don't usually say them" Shiro said "But we tend to slip at times" "I'm feeling tired I'm going to rest" he said as he sat and laid down.
Later Shiro was in a healing pod turns the clone body was rejecting Shiro's conscious, a group went to get some recharging sparkles from a odd creature called a Yalmor, leaving only Keith, Allura, and Krolia keeping watch of his vitals, it took awhile but after Keith pouring his heart to the man who was like a second father to him, Shiro's eyes opened as Shiro's conscious found the strength to take control of the Clone's body.
Keith hugged him like his father as the other's returned, looking tired and dirty.
"Shiro your back" the other Paladin's cried.
"It's good to be back" Shiro smiled.
"good because we already lost one Paladin and friend today" Hunk sighed with relief.
"Don't worry Lance will find a way to come back, when I met him I always saw potential in him, seeing how he transferred from a leg to Voltron's Right arm, in fact both Lance and you Keith have changed alot while I was gone" he smiled.
