The students came flooding in, in large groups, shooting curious and confused looks at Percy and Annabeth. Just then a boy with jet black hair, and alert almond green eyes, with a lightning shaped scar on his head walked in. Walking next to him was a tall, red headed, freckled, boy with a long and pointy nose. On his other side was a girl with brown, bushy hair that puffed in all different directions.
"Percy, look." Annabeth gestured with her head the the trio.
"Do you reckon thats them?" Percy quietly asked.
"Fits the description." She replied. The three of them, came to the Griffindor table and sat across from them.
Hermione's POV
We came into the great hall, having just got off the Hogwarts Express. Harry was getting understanding and sympathetic looks. So the idiots had finally decided to believe him. Honestly it infuriated me. They didn't understand one single bit! Just then, I noticed some unfamiliar faces staring at us. I nudged Harry and Ron and said,
"Have we seen these guys before?" I asked them.
"No we haven't. I wonder who they are." Replied Ron.
"Maybe they are exchange students." Suggested Harry.
"We should go sit close to them and find out." I said as I lead them to seats across from them. We sat down and I looked up to see the two faces looking at us curiously. "Um hi, I'm Hermione. Are you from Hogwarts? We don't seem to recognize you." I said awkwardly.
"Oh sorry!" Said the girl with blond curly hair. She seemed to have an American accent. "No we don't go to Hogwarts we go to an American magic school. I'm Annabeth, and this is Percy." She said gesturing to the boy that had similar features to Harry.
"Nice to meet you. This is Harry, and Ron."
Percy's POV
"So why are you in a different school? Do you go to Ilvermony?" Asked the girl called Hermione.
"Um yeah..." Annabeth said slowly, trying to keep her cool. "We're here to experience first hand what it is like at Hogwarts so we can report back and improve other magical schools" she explained quickly.
"Attention please!" Dumbledore called gently across the room. Everyone stopped talking and turned their heads out of respect. Now first we will have the sorting, and them I shall speak to you all." Professor McGonagall strode into the room, with a bunch of nervous looking students trailing behind her.
"Aulby, Christina!Called McGonagall. She placed the sorting hat on ber head, and it bellowed, "RAVENCLAW!"
"Aying, Timothy!"
"SLYTHERIN!" The sorting hat called.
"Barns, Grace!"
"HUFFLEPUFF!"
"Bolts, Richard!"
"HUFFLEPUFF!"
"Gardner, Matt!"
"RAVENCLAW!"
"Smith, Jackson!"
"GRIFFINDOR!"
"Louis, Louisa!"
"GRIFFINDOR!"
"Yu, Nikita!"
"HUFFLEPUFF!" The sorting carried on for a long time. I got seriously fidgety after a while. Stupid ADHD. Annabeth watched in fascination taking in all details, looking like whe did when she recieved her wand.
Once the sorting was done, Dumbledore came up to the front.
"Now as you can see there are a few changes to our staff at the moment and a few new things I would like to make aware. I would like to welcome Professor Slughorn. He will now be teaching Potions. Professor Snape will take the place of Defense aginst the Dark Arts Professor." Explained Dumbledore. The guy with the black greasy hair gave me the weeby jeebys. Plus he had a serious death stare. Only the Slytherins looked happy about the change in the system. "Now you may have noticed a couple of new faces in the room. Perseus Jackson, and Annabeth Chase, are from the American school, Ilvermony. They are here to exprience Hogwarts first hand, and bring back improvement suggestions back, for other magical schools." Everybody's heads turned around looking for us. My face felt really hot. I hope I didn't go red. Dumbledore blathered on for a while longer. I didn't really listen. After that there was a feast. Almost as good as the one at Camp Halfblood, but not quite. After that we got up, not knowing where to go.
Again! As if on que, Professor McGonagall came up to us, I swear she has a pocket watch and purposely times everything perfectly.
"Right, I think it is time I escort you to your dorms." She said. We nodded and followed her as she explained a bunch of things on the way. "You will need to have the password to get in. This week, it is 'Flabbergasted'. Girls and boys aren't allowed in each others dorms. Everybody is allowed in the common room. Oh and the stair cases move so be quick." She said when we were staring up the the moving concrete. We reached a painting of a fat lady. "You try the password so you get the idea." Said McGonagall.
"Um...Flabbergasted." Said Percy uncertianly. The potrait swung open and they walked into a really comfy looking room.
"Boys up there, and girls over there." Gestured Professor McGonagall. "You will find all your belongings waiting for you in your trunk."
Suddenly I had a thought. Riptide. I patted my pockets looking for it. Phew. It was there. I had seen Annabeth hide her dagger in her bag. McGonagall left us alone. Students were rushing in and out of the dorms.
"Well we should probably go to bed now." Said Annabeth.
"Goodnight Annabeth." I said kissing her lightly and quickly on the lips, because there were people watching.
"Good night Seaweed Brain." She said smiling back. We parted our ways as we went to our dorms. I could tell which one was my bed, because my wand was sitting on top of a trunk. I'm not sure how it got there, but then again I am in a magical world, so I wasn't all that surprised. My bed was next to Ron Weasley's.
"Oh, hey, Ron right?" I said to him.
"Yeah, we saw you in te great hall. Do prefer being called Perseus, or Percy?" He asked.
"Percy." I replied. "Well, I'm off to bed, see you in the morning. Goodnight Ron, Harry." I nodded to them both then pulled my curtains, got changed and went to sleep.
Annabeth's POV
After parting with Percy, I went up to the girls dormitories. I found my wand on a trunk, so I guessed that it was my bed. I looked up to see a head of bushy, brown hair looking at me.
"Oh! Hello again!" Hermione said cheerfully.
"Yes, hi! Looks like our beds are next to each other." I said awkwardly.
"Yeah. Hey that's a pretty wand you've got there," she said showing interest in the carvings.
"Mm, it's nice right? Whats your schedule for tomorrow?" I asked.
"Uh...let me see..." She said shuffling papers around, "Aha! In this order, History of magic, Charms, morning break, double Transfiguration, Lunch, Astronomy, and then a free spot. What do you have?" She asked. I hunted through my bag for the sheet.
"Well, Percy and I have two hours in the morning to parctise our combat. We do a lot more of that in our school, so we need to keep it up. Morning break, Oh! I also have double transfiguration too! Lunch, and then Defense Against the Dark Arts, and then Flying lessons." Read out Annabeth.
"You practise combat?" Asked Hermione slightly shocked.
"Um, yeah. Magic and combat training are equal in our school, so if I am behind in magic, that's probably why." Annabeth explained quickly. "Anyways, it was nice talking to you, I will see you tomorrow. Goodnight." Finished Annabeth.
"Goodnight." Replied Hermione.
So that was the end of the chapter, hope you enjoyed.
What happens in the book will stray far from the actual story. So I only want criticism on logical stuff, not how it isn't like the book.
I own nothing but the plot.
Tell me in the reviews what I could do better.
Thank you for reading. Most appreciated :)
