Chapter 2 Is it Really Meant to be?

"Come on Ron we're going to be late," yelled Hermione, "Harry and Ginny are waiting for us at the restaurant."

"I'm here, I'm here! Just tell me do I look okay?" Asked Ron as he walks into the living room.

"You look dashing Ron, now can we leave?" said Hermione.

They both get into the car and drive to the restaurant where they want to meet Harry and Ginny. Harry and Ginny are already settled into a table with two empty seats which get occupied by Ron and Hermione. "Sorry we're late," Hermione apologized, " but someone couldn't get ready on time." she said eyeing Ron.

"Shall we order?" asked Ron.

They chat while waiting for the food to arrive, and then eat their meals silently. When everyone finished Ron asked, " So what is the big news you wanted to tell us?"

Ginny looked at Harry with a wide smile on her face and said, "We are getting married!"

Ron and Hermione were so surprised, but very happy at the same time, they gave their congratulations and Ron gave Harry that "take care of my little sister" look.

The next day, Hermione walked into Ron's room, he was reading the newspaper, and said,"It's really nice how Harry and Ginny decided to immortalize their love by getting married, I was thinking that it might be time for us to do the same too. What do you think?"

Ron answered while he continued on reading the newspaper, "Nah I think we're good here, I mean it's still too soon don't you think? I like the way our life is now. Don't you?"

"Yeah you're definitely right." Hermione said with tears welling up in her eyes. She directly left the room and started sobbing in her pillow.

Ginny heard Hermione crying and rushed into the room and said, "What's wrong?"

Hermione looked up and said sniffing back some tears, " It's nothing." She puts on a weak smile on her face.

"Oh yeah and you expect me to believe that?" Ginny said," Now tell me what's wrong, you know yo can tell me anything." She climbed on the bed next to Hermione.

"Today I realized that Ron doesn't love me anymore." She said while sobbing.

"What? That's nonsense! Ron not loving you? I can never believe that. He is head over heels in love with you. Don't be daft, I mean have you seen the way he looks at you? Ginny exclaims, "What on earth made you think he doesn't love you?"

Hermione sighed and said, "I told him that I want to immortalize my love with him just like how you and Harry did and he said that's not necessary, if he truly loves me he wouldn't say that?"

"I'm sure he doesn't mean it like that. Just stop worrying about it, when you too are meant to get married you will and nothing will stand in your way. Hey let's go out in the evening, just you and me we'll have a girls night out! Be ready at 7 okay?"

"Okay." Hermione said and tried to put a small smile on her face.

At 7 pm the same evening Hermione was ready in her room waiting for Ginny. At that time Ginny opens Hermione's bedroom door and tells her, "There's something waiting for you in the backyard why not go check it out?"

Confused Hermione walks downstairs and heads towards the backyard. When she stepped outside she became speechless. She saw a single table for two prepped up in the middle with a candle in the middle and a violin player on the side playing some romantic music. And then she saw Ron all dressed up in a suit waiting for her next to the table. All she could think of is that if one person did all of that for her, he must really love her and she was very foolish to think otherwise.

Hermione walks towards Ron and gives him a little kiss on the lips and then says, "You did all of that for me?"

"I sure did!" Ron exclaims. "How else can I show the woman I love how much I love her?" Hermione blushes a little and Ron helps her sit down.

After a while food arrives and they eat happily while chatting and giggling, and then when they finish Ron asks Hermione to dance with him and she did.

Before the night was over, Ron gets down on one knee and gives Hermione a Rose then says, "I love you Hermione Jean Granger and I want to spend the rest of my life with you. Will you marry me?"

Hermione was so surprised and looked at him with a look of sincere happiness and said, "Of course I'll marry you!"

Author's Note: Sorry for being late while posting Chapter 2, I forgot about this fanfiction with all the school work I had! I don't know when I'll be posting Chapter 3, but I'll try to post it soon.
