Percy
The dinner was weird, yet quite pleasant. Everyone was chattering and the last rays were bathed on our table by Annabeth's window design.
"Now Percy," Grover said in a hushed voice, " I haven't been here very long but there are some rumours.."
Everyone hung unto his words, holding their breaths in unison and the lights flickered. There was a tiny scratching noise that God louder and louder until the door swung upon with none other than, my dad. God's always have the best entrances.
I wish it was more huggy and everyone was talking but everyone was just too shocked, it was quite awkward. " I just wanted to come and see you all." said my Dad trying to break the silence. " Hey mark, hello Amelia, nice to see you back Grover." Finally he sat down. Why was he here?
Once everyone was busy talking again, his eyes, holding all the oceans met with mine and suddenly we were gone. Everything else seemed to fall away and the two of us were sitting on a beach.
"Percy.." he sighed.
" Dad, why are you really here?"
" Well, it is difficult being a God but most of all lonely. In my eyes a liftime is a day and everything I kow melts away to be remoulded into a new reality tomorrow. I cannot taste mortal life which is why many people become gods, yet I am tired of it."
I had often heard gods moaning about their ardous existance, gods who are showered in eternal life, glory and power.
He continued, " I was just wondering, if you wanted to give it a go for a bit." Everything stopped it was as if I had been slapped across the face hard.
" But Dad... how could I ever do that , you strongly hold the ocean in your palm, I would just mess it all up."
" I have done well but you can do even better, I have seen you in leadership and you are the best person for the job."
" And, if you are immortal now, you would then die."
"When the time comes, yes, I will die but I am quite looking forward to it." he chuckled.
" Can you do this son?"
" I hope so." I replied not very sure.
"I know so" and he transported us back to the dinner table, Amelia finishing the sentence she had started a whole eon ago.
