Well, I hope this story does well. Tell me what you think!

I explained to Mel how Edward and Alice had burst into our lives, bringing out the dramatic side of Forks. Their arrival had been a domino effect, one event led to another, nearly destroying our friendships in the end.

I told her about Jacob and Bella, leaving out the…more mature details, and then about Bella and Edward, her knight in shining armor.

I also talked about the girl who caught my eye. Alice. My bubbly, little goddess. The one who now insisted on taking Melly on shopping sprees, at the young age of seven, believing she can cure my little angel of her distain for malls.

"And then, we all made it to college. I went to Cornell, to study in Philosophy. Emmett and Rosalie stayed in Washington, and went to Seattle University. Alice went to a fashion school in California, and Bella and Edward moved to Massachusetts, Bella at Boston College on a scholarship and Edward at Harvard." I sighed, remembering how sad it was to be the only one in New York. Bella and Edward were together, and Emmett and Rosalie were even in the same dorm! But Alice and I followed our dreams to different sides of the country.

"Everything began to change when I got a hysteric phone call from Alice one night…"

I was sitting on my bed, reviewing my Sophomore schedule, when my cell phone started vibrating. I picked it up and said, "Hello?"

"Jasper! Jasper! Jasper! Emmett! And Rosalie! They're- They're- They're-"

I panicked. "Rosalie? Alice, calm down. What's wrong with my sister?!"

"Nothing! Well, except for the fact that she's INSANE!" Alice sounded excited now, allowing me to relax again.

"Well, what's going on, then?" I sat back against my pillow, placing my schedule on my night-stand.

"THEY'RE GETTING MARRIED!! Emmett proposed to Rosalie last night and she said 'YES'!!"

I dropped the phone, my mouth hanging wide open. I just sat, frozen in shock, until Alice's voice brought me back.

"Jasper? Jasper! JASPER?!" Her sparkling voice shouted at me through the receiver. I picked up the phone again.

"I'm right here, Alice," I said, composing myself.

"Good. I though you had fainted like Charlie did when I called him. Luckily, Billy and Jacob were visiting, so he's alright."

I laughed. "You called Charlie? Isn't that Emmett's job? Or at least, Bella's?"

"Well, Bella doesn't know yet, and Emmett's too scared." She giggled, filling my ears with the melodious sound.

"You didn't call Bella first? I thought she would be on the top of your list."

I heard her mutter something, then she said, "Actually, you were on the top, but Emmett insisted I call Charlie before anyone else."

I felt the warmth of blush creep up my neck, and I said, "Well, that's good to know. So, how's California?"

She sighed. "Wonderful. It's so warm and sunny here, and everyone's so laid-back. My roommate, Charlotte, is so awesome, and my classes are the best. But it's missing something." Her voice turned heartbreakingly sad, and I desperately wanted to touch her, to soothe her.

"What's that?" I asked, whispering.

"You."

My heart fluttered, and I blinked rapidly, trying to comprehend what she said.

"I miss you, Jasper. More than I should. More than you can understand." She sounded do sincere, her voice filled with longing, that I nearly started crying.

"I miss you, too, Alice. So much. I wish you were here with me, in New York."

"I know. But we'll see each other soon, at Christmas. And we always have cell phones and face book."

I smiled. "Yeah. Well, I better let you finish your wedding calls. I have to go congratulate Rose. And threaten Emmett."

She giggled, and said goodnight. I hung up feeling lighthearted, and pulled out my laptop. The screen glowed softly on my face, and I hurriedly logged-in to our chat room, that automatically sent invites to Rosalie, Emmett, Alice, Edward, and Bella.

I turned off my laptop with a satisfied sigh. Even though we were states apart, we could still talk like we were in the same room.

Thank goodness for technology.

"This is boring. When will you get to the good part?" Melly asked from her perch on the old trunk.

I laughed. "Every story has to start somewhere. Have some patience."

"If you say so." She pouted, making me laugh. It reminded me of when Alice and Bella would have pouting contests, trying to persuade the other into doing something.

"I'm getting there, Melody. It's about to get exciting."

Now be like Melly and wait for the good part of the story. I know this chapter was a little boring, but I'm getting there. I know where I want to take this story, but I'm still working out some finer details. That, plus school starts tomorrow, and the fact that I have two other stories I'm working on at the moment means that I can't update every night like I did for the last bit of OFY.

R&R pleez! Thanks
