It was a special night. There was a celebration that brought together the Mystery Inc. and their families in blake mansion. Most of them were gathered in the living room, except Fred, who called Shaggy to the guest room to talk about their plans.

"Will she like the ring?" Fred asked he said, holding the box with the ring inside. That was not a ring any. It was gold 18k, with a small circular diamond stone. Fred used part of the money he had saved to buy that ring. He really was determined to ask her to marry him.

"Like, for the price you paid, who would not like?"

"I'll take that as a yes."

The conversation was interrupted by Daphne, who called for the two to go down to the dining room.

"You will not want to miss dinner, is not it? Especially you, Shaggy."

"Of course not! Common Fred! Like, the dinner! The others are waiting for us!"

Shaggy left, leaving Fred and Daphne alone. The blond avoided looking directly at her, because he was too nervous to say anything at that time.

"Fred, are you okay?" She asked.

"Yeah, yeah. I'm fine..."

He walked to the door, and glanced quickly at her.

"Come on, they're waiting for us."

A great banquet was prepared for families. In the room there was a large Christmas tree and under it, many gifts. It would be a special Christmas for all of them. At the table, they were all together, starting to eat. Members of the gang were sitting next to each other, while their families were around.

"Come on Fred Jones, are only a few words, you can do it!" He thought to himself.

The blonde then waited all finished dinner, as he prepared to ask that question. Daphne was on his right side, surprised those expressions that Fred did.

When everyone finished, Fred closed his eyes, and when he opened them, he rose from the chair where he sat.

"I like the attention of everyone here. What I will say is very important."

"More important than dessert?" Shaggy asked, a little disappointed.

"Yes, Shaggy. I'm sorry."

Fred looked at Daphne, deep into her eyes.

"Daphne, I know this may seem a little strange, but..." He hesitated quickly, that was when he looked at Velma, who nodded for him to continue talking.

"This is my chance... to say this, and I can not miss this opportunity. And even if you refuse, I'll be happy to have asked."

Then he knelt down and took the small box from his pocket, and extending the box to her, he asked:

"Daphne Ann Blake, would you like to... marry me?"

"What?!" Her parents said in unison, and on impulse, almost fall from their chairs due to the shock.

"Fred, I..." Daphne looked at the box, and then looked at him.

She looked all around, that curious, were silent to watch that scene. A smile appeared on his face, and determined, she answered.

"Yes... Yes!"

Everyone applauded. Except the parents of Daphne, still shocked by that scene. Fred did not wait long, and then put the ring on her finger, and gave him a tender kiss on her lips.

"Like, everything was resolved, that's good! Now, let's eat!" Shaggy said, raising his glass.

"A toast to the new bride and groom!" Velma said, also raising his glass. All who were there also toasted.

All spent the rest of the night talking; and when bedtime came, they all went to their respective rooms. Daphne, before bed, went to Fred's room to talk one last time.

"So, soon, we will be married." She said, as she walked through the door, and found him standing in front of the window.

"I know. This is not amazing? I mean, it'll be... Damn it! I'm sorry I'm a little nervous." He said, turning to her.

"I noticed. But don't worry, Fred I'm with you."

She approached him and gave him a kiss on the cheek. "We are in this together."

"Thank you, Daph. I Love-" Before he could speak, she gently kissed her lips and then she walked to the door

"Now go to sleep." She said.

"Are not you coming?"

"Soon I'll be your wife, can not wait a little longer?" She laughed and walked away.

He just smiled, seeing his bride, who soon will join him in matrimony.
