A few hours later

"So, Lily, what house do uou want to be in?"

"I don't know. I know you want Slytherin though, you talk about it non-stop!"

"Actually I don't, not anymore at least."

"What happened?"

Severus sighed. "I remembered Slytherin charmed that hat or something, so it wouldn't accept muggle-borns. I couldn't bear the thought of being separate from you. "

Lily smiled.

"Aww, Sev, that's so sweet!"

Sev smiled back. Not just at the compliment, but the fact that as crule as fate had been, it had given him the chance to live a happy life. Maybe when they were older, he would tell her. But for now, if she got to suspicious, he would tell her, but say it was a nightmare.

"So what house should we be in?"

"Not Gryffindor" he immediately replied. He would skip Slytherin for her, but unless hell froze over, we was not going in Gryffindor.

"So that leaves us with Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw."

Severus pondered for a moment.

"Let's go over the Pros and Cons"

Lily nodded.

"Hufflepuff: Pro:"

"Everyone seems friendly, and it's the house of loyalty!" she replied.

"Con: It's stereotyped as the house of the idiots"

"Ravenclaw: Pro: There most likely will be other people there with an IQ higher than that of a potato"

Lily giggled.

"Con: People might think we are nerds"

"Hufflepuff: Pro: It's next to the kitchens, and is the easiest to access, as Ravenclaw and Gryffindor are in a tower and Slytherin is in the dungeons. I think"

"Con: Uhh.. we are ignored? Actually, that seems like a good thing."

"Ravenclaw: Pro:"

"We the Ravenclaw ceiling if pretty?"

"Con: People might cheat off us, and bully us into doing there homework, and the only way to get into the dorms is to answer a riddle, and if we get it wrong, we are stuck until someone else comes who knows the answer. "

"Hufflepuff: Pro: HERBOLERGY!!!!! Potions have lots of plant ingredients, and we are right next to the greenhouses."

"Con: Uhh.. I've run out of cons.."

"Hufflepuff it is!"

The rest of the train ride was uneventful, no drama, and No Potter. Severus hoped because they were in Hufflepuff, Potter would ignore them, and would not bully them, or try to date Lily.

Eventually they came to a stop.

"Firs' Years, Firs' Years Over 'ere!"

They hopped on a empty boat, where two girls joined them. They introduced themselves as Ruby Maxwell and Dory Cruster.

As they came round the bend, The girls all gasped, and Sev smiled.

He was home.
