The 72 reds wake up, and they all look around. Mario sees an odd looking hole in the ground, he calls the others, and they stare at it in amazement. They decide to hop in to see what lurks beneath the surface world.

SUBLEVEL 1
They all fall onto the muddy floor, Luigi just stares at an odd object nearby, and it makes them think of their past leaders. Shrooba was carrying a sack, they put it in there. A loud roar disrupted their attention. They looked behind them in fear at the large, flaming bulblax. They all attacked it and killing it a few minutes later, they toss it into Shrooba's sack, Peach spots another hole and they hop in.
SUBLEVEL 2
They once again fall and defeat more fiery bulblaxes, they collect another memory of the past. They all faint due to tiredness…………... They all wake up and head toward the next hole when a burrowing snagret comes out of the ground! They all climb up its snake-like body whacking as they go thus killing it. They all throw the head into Shrooba's sack and head to the next floor.
SUBLEVEL 3
They fall and then kill more fiery bulblaxes and red and dwarf bulborbs. They throw their carcasses into Shrooba's sack and they walk towards a dull yellow thing. Mario decides to jump on it, it transforms into a yellow onion! It sprouts one seed, they pluck it.
Zappy!
Zappy looks around amazed to be free and they all catch a geyser up to the surface, along with the yellow onion.
They all return to the surface and they all fall asleep in their onions peacefully.
