Earth, Arctic circa, 2153
The blizzard in the North Pole was very unforgivable, especially for anyone that lives there. An research team, sent by the Earth Science Institute to find what they believed to be debris of a crashed alien ship. The three researchers scanned the area to find out what the ship could've been and what species built it.
Dr. Rooney, a female scientist with short red hair scanned one of the debris and gotten surprised result. Moninger did the same until their third colleague shouted them. "Come over here! You'll never believe what I found. I found some bodies of the crew!" Rushing over to find one of the frozen bodies, inside the ice was a well preserved humanoid with very pale blue skin and long white hair. The alien's clothing was a black leather trench coat with light armor strapped around its upper body. "Definitely humanoid but I don't recognise the species."
"Looks well preserved." Drake contacted star fleet of their findings and something about a bottle of scotch. More preserved bodies were found and later taken to the camp. The two bodies were carefully placed on the table, their clothes remained fitted and some of the things from the debris were taken for analysis. While Rooney was studying the materials, Moninger brought Drake over to see the bodies. Brought what he was carrying a severed arm but with some sort of slit opening in the palm.
Drake was puzzled by the feature and unsure what to make of it. "I give up, what is it?"
"Some sort of specialised organ; a second mouth. These guys have 'em on their right hands." Nodding his head to them. Drake was astounded to hear this and looked at Moninger. "You're joking."
"From what I can tell, they use this to feed on a lot of nourishments, as its possibly their primary food source. Not sure what sort of nourishments they need to survive but I can say that this arm injects enzyme into their food, unable to tell from the readings of what it is yet." Moninger looked at the two in wonder.
"Did you get a genetic analysis?"
"Yeah, and this gets more interesting." Went to the computer to show the DNA patterns from the two bodies. "Despite their physiological appearance they have more in common with insects. They could be a highly evolved arthropods with humanoid physiology in them. But what I found is even weirder, there are few some parts in their DNA that are closely similar to ours."
It clearly got them more confused of how such a species unknown to them have similar DNA to humans, could they have previously visited them in the past? "Transmit your findings to Starfleet, maybe they'll find a match in the database."
"Right away."
"Sir, I run every test in the book and I still can't identify this alloy." Drake went over nd looked at the ruined pieces of the crashed ship. "What about this?" Gesturing to the burned areas.
"Not only is there metal and other unknown materials related to it but the rest are organic." She said, surprised by the discovery as he was.
"Organic? You mean this ship was alive?"
"Probably, and if these readings are correct this debris could've been from a much larger ship and crashed into the Arctic in the early 21st century." She said in astounded, even for her colleague. "I wonder what they were doing here."
Drake was puzzled as she was. "Whoever these guys were, they probably wanted to make contact with us, study our species and the solar system or maybe an invasion." Laughed at the idea. They ran a few tests and decided to pick up for later until their test results came. Had they stayed a little longer they would've noticed the growing pulse of one of the bodies. Fingers slowly moved for a few seconds before they stopped.
For now.
Later that night, Rooney and Drake were finishing up one of their tests. They were little cautious of their 'guests' when knowing more about them, why they found had astonished the researchers to find that some of the oldest specimens were possibly centuries old, possibly older than they appear. Rooney checked on the bodies to make sure they weren't damaged before transporting them to another location. Whenever he had a look at the aliens they always creeped him out, almost as if they were still alive. Throwing that thought aside from his mind to remind himself that there was no possible way that anything could crash into the atmosphere and survive after freezing their bodies for centuries.
But he was definitely wrong when the pulse readings grew rapidly. Heart pulse, brain activity. The shocked scientist moved to the second machine, grabbing his scanner for readings on the other creature and found it acting the same way.
The Wraith were alive.
Gasped and breathed desperately for air for the first time in centuries; eyes and mouth opened, revealing the golden eyes and dark jagged teeth. The human lowered his head further, surprised, confused and in curiosity that if they could possibly speak, but that would be a grave mistake and his last for the Wraith was desperate to regain his strength by feeding on life force. Grabbed the surprised man's through by the sustain strength, using his other arm to reach for the shirt, torn open it for his second feeder to latch painfully on to his chest.
His agonising cry did not go unheard outside where the two scientists rush over to their colleague's aide. It was not long for the base to be under attack by unknown threats. Weapons firing from all directions, their lab were already destroyed by one of the weapons and find the bodies and Rooney missing. Searching the ruins they found what looked like Rooney only to appear older and skeletal like, as if he had aged over a hundred years. Before they could make their escape the two Wraith from their lab jumped from the roof, ambushed them and shot them with their hand blasters. With the base under their control, many more Wraith that survived the crash from there failed attempt to invade Earth.
After feeding on the last of the Humans in the area they gathered together in the base. "How long have we been in genetic stasis?
"By their data files I would believe it has been 144 years after our arrival to Earth. It is possible that the war back in our home galaxy has long passed."
The first Wraith that was revived snarled in anger of this statement. "We will have our revenge on the Humans. Is there anything that surfaced the battle?"
"We can use their ships and combine them with our own technologies; we still have a ZPM that was dug up by the Humans. We can escape this system before they become aware of our presence."
"Then do so. Once we are out of their sight we will find a Stargate in this galaxy to return to the Pegasus. And if our people still live, we will have our revenge."
They immediately set themselves to work converting the Humans' technology with their own to built a ship that would get them off the planet. There were more others who survived the crash and accelerated their chances to get away before any of the humans would know what is happening in the North pole. Within the next day their ship was completed with both artificial and organic components to make the ship interstellar worthy. Three days after the attack a shuttle from Starfleet Headquarters was sent to investigate the reason for not receiving any contacts with the research team. What they found were were bodies but no sign of any attackers, many ships and nearly all the technology form the area had vanished without a trace. Admiral Maxwell Forrest, feeling concerned that the discovered remains of the aliens they found might be one of the reason for this attack.

Many light years in space, Captain Jonathan Archer gathered his senior staff in the Conference room. "I just received word from Admiral Forrest of what happened. Three days ago a research team found a debris of an alien ship and its surviving crew. The Admiral believes they are humanoid or near enough by the physiology. They received no word from the team and believed these beings are responsible for the murder." Brings up a few images and data on the computer, some with the aliens and some of their technology. What they found disturbing was the way the corpses looked decades old and yet they were living people a few days ago. Trip took a closer look at the data from the alien components and found it hard to believe what he was reading.
"They have organic technology? What their ship s alive?"
"Sir, if these were the same ones that killed them after being frozen for over a century is clearly impossible!" Malcolm was in disbelief of what he was reading.
"That's what they fought and manage to find some security footage of one of them suddenly woke up and killed the first victim. By the time they left, Starfleet picked up an anomaly just outside Earth's orbit and they went straight into it. When they finally tracked the ship's position from war which is now over a hundred lightyears." By his statement he was surprised that these aliens could use a ship from different materials and able to go into warp or if some kind new method of faster than light in such speed. Much faster than Starfleet or the Vulcans could achieve.
"That's impossible, by the much resources they would go to 1.4 in warp." Tucker believed.
"I think its safe to assume that the aliens reconfigured the ship's engines using their own technology." Archer theorised.
"If they are in possession of a warp engine we shouldn't have any difficulty isolating their warp signature." T'Pol suggested.
"We'll start searching at these coordinates." The captain types in the coordinates of the warp signature and the anomaly. "Lay in a course."
Travis nodded. "Aye sir." The crew went to off leaving Archer and Tucker to further study the data of the humanoid aliens.
"Frozen since the early 21st century." Tucker said in astonishment.
"Hard to believe anything could survive in the Arctic."
Malcome was having trouble with the bio-mechanical data from the Arctic, this was more like a biological research and beyond his understanding. The weapons they use were also organic, yet also mechanised for long range distances. Phlox, a Denobulan Chief medical officer came into the armory with a pad in his hand. "You wanted to see me?"
"Your an expert on biology, I can't even tell heads or tails over these weapons and components." Brings up an image of what looks like a large rifle with spheres on each side and the slender type weapons.
Phlox observed the data and found them fascinating by the organic structure. "This is indeed very fascinating if I say. While you were studying the technological data I was looking at something very interesting about these aliens." Brings up his pad to show the physiological structure of the species and also the right hand which he was point. "This opening here in the open palm is what they use as their main source for feeding on unknown nourishmence to sustain themselves from hunger."
Malcolm found it a little disturbing. "Like a mouth? How does it work in such way?"
"I'll have to further study it to know. But what's even more fascinating is that these creatures are far older than they appear, much older than the Vulcans. They are really more insect than any known species we encountered and I compared their DNA with Human DNA." Brings up the data of the DNA structure of both species, showing him the differences and notices the similarities between them.
"If I didn't know any better I say you could be looking at a distant relative."
"Now that is even more disturbing. The way these… creatures and how they are related to us? You said they are more insectoid?"
Phlox shrugged his shoulders, completely clueless as he was. "I'm not sure. Genetic engineering or a coincidence as there are some alien species who are more similar to each other, much like your people. But this… 'second mouth' as it could be called reminds me of creatures in Denobulan legend that steal their souls and reduce their bodies to nothing but aged skin and bones to satisfy their hunger. We called the the 'Night eaters', we used that to keep children from going out in the dark."
"We have something in common, a mythological race called vampires that drink the blood of humans to surive and either kill them or make them into vampires but have to avoid sun light and garlic."
"Ah yes I remember such films. but we're not the only ones as other races seem to share such tales, each one different but same way of killing its victims." Phlox took a closer look at the alien's face and hand. "I started to wonder if their people had visited our worlds when superstition was a common belief."
"If they are, I would't want to come across a space vampire. But the research team was heavily armed. How did they manage to overpower them?" Malcom thought out loud.

The Wraith ship was growing much bigger but only half the size of a Hive ship. They had manage to dig up the stargate to use its power to accelerate the ship's speed, they still have enough power to open another hyperspace window but would exhaust their engines using the Earth Humans' technology until it reached its full limit. They were curious of how the humans seem to use a different and slower method of interstellar travel than the Hyper-drive a century ago when they were at war with them. Possibly some disaster occurred and they had to restart allover again, explaining why there aren't much starships in their space. If they are fortunate with any of their people in this galaxy they could strike now while they have a chance.
The Wraith Commander who alongside others that stolen the ZPMs to travel to Earth had not forgotten the defeat by the Humans. He would make certain that they would no threat to the Wraith ever again and begin their new feeding grounds in this new galaxy. Right now they needed to regrow their ship and find a way to rebuild their numbers if they have another chance.
"Commander."
Turning to his subordinate who called out. "What have you to report?"
"We received the data from the Humans' history. Their species had fought in this third planet scaled war which almost wiped out their entire species."
"Perhaps that could explain why their technology seems unchanged but advanced a little. What of their drive, this… Warp-drive technology."
"Allows them to travel in a sub-space but much weaker than our hyperdrive, they may have acquired this technology from an alien species known as Vulcans who aided them to rebuild yet limited their fleet. This could give us the advantage if needed."
The commander almost smiled at the thought of Earth strong yet weak with limited ships thanks to these Vulcans. It would indeed make a stragetic invasion when they're prepared for another strike. "Find out more of their technology and this Warp-drive of theirs. We might learn how to exploit it."
Another Wraith called out. "Unidentified ship detected. Unknown alien life signs."
"Sent out our forces, we are still in need to replenish ourselves. Perhaps they will serve as a new taste for feeding."

"Captain, I'm picking up a distress signal." Travis brought up as he tries to get a stronger signal "Tarkelean ship… Under attack… Unknown hostile species… Request help."
Archer got up from his chair. "How long has that message been sent?"
"About half an hour."
"Lock on to those coordinators. It could be the same aliens that killed the Arctic research team" The Enterprise immediately jumped to the coordinates to help the Tarkeleans,

The Wraith cruiser, despite its appearance was still feared and had plenty of firepower as it fires white spheres into the smaller ship. They may not have shields for defence but with the use of Darts it was an advantage of numbers against the Tarkaleans. The Darts swooped in and were all around them like flies that were very hard to hit with their weapons.
The Commander watches from the bridge as their soldiers went in to gather supplies they needed, he allowed them to feed if necessary to make the passengers more 'corporative'. "Another ship on our scanners. It registers the same as the Earth humans."
"Out here in space? They should be weak!" The screen revealed a sourer-shaped vessel with tubes protruding from the back. It was almost the size as the Tau'ri warships from the Pegasus galaxy.
"We are being hailed."
"Respond."
Before him a human male in a blue uniform. "This is Captain Archer of the starship Enterprise. I take it you are the caption of the ship that crashed landed on Earth and responsible for the murders of the research team."
The Wraith snarled at him with eyes of hatred towards the humans his race has ruled and fed upon for thousands of years. "We had need to… replenish ourselves. But you are mistaking human, we did not crash into you planet it was destroyed by your people from the war almost two hundred years ago." After announcing his statement he could see the confusion on the human's face and others. Perhaps they had forgotten most of their histories and conflicts between their peoples.
"I believe you are mistaking. Our people have never left Earth no further than our moon-"
"I have no interesting in your history, Human, but you will regret declaring war upon the Wraith. We've been searching for your world for new feeding grounds and now we know where it is." Smiling darkly, showing his dark jagged teeth that sent shivers to their spine. He cut the communications between them and ordered most of the Darts to target on the Enterprise. "Prepare the hyper-drive while our darts hold them off."
"We have no further understanding of the humans technology even after-"
"I am aware of that, we will know more about them and their weakness. Even if they do not remember us it could give an advantage we need." Watches the battle against the enemy ships.
Yeah so I thought it would be interesting to start off with the Enterprise and that they didn't know about the stargate program from the 21st century. I thought by doing this one it would get that part with the regeneration parody in. I had they interesting idea that well since the Wraith who just arrived didn't know about others before them came there would some legends based on them with similar abilities and that they were visited by the Wriath. Hope your patients were good enough and enjoyed this chapter.
