White hummed a cheerful tune as she walked into her favorite fabric store with Sapphire trailing behind her, sulking. The bell tinkled merrily as she entered. "Hello Wally." She called as she walked straight to the area that held the more colorful and expensive fabric.
"Hello White." Wally responded, poking his head around the shelves to greet the two girls. "What are you looking for?" He asked coming out from behind the bolts of cloth.
"Some ladies commissioned me to make some party dresses and a man's formal clothing." White said. "Do you have anything?" She asked examining a bolt of silk.
"Well, what color does the gentleman want?" He asked coming over.
"Black."
"Well, there's this." He said reaching over and grabbing some black satin.
"It's perfect." White said after some thought.
"Is there any other specific color you want?"
"Well…" As Wally helped White pick out the fabric for the gowns, Sapphire tuned out the discussion of fabric until she heard someone shout.
"Wally, do you have anything FABULOUS!?" A boy asked as he walked into the shop and flung his arms dramatically. Sapphire twitched. He looked around and stopped at Sapphire, his eyes widening. "What are you wearing?!" He shouted as he looked at her up and down critically. She suppressed the urge to beat him to a pulp. He was clearly a noble.
"Clothes." She grunted.
"Those colors look terrible on you! It should be against the law! If you wore something that matched your eyes, you would be BEAUTIFUL~!" He sang joyously. Sapphire twitched again.
"Well sorry that not everyone can afford clothes that can't be dirtied." Sapphire spat.
"Well you could at least put in some effort!"
"To do what!? It'll get messed up when I have to work!"
"Okay, okay, break it up." Wally said in an effort to stop the dispute. He was ignored completely. After a few minutes of effort, he gave up and rang up White's order. "Do you need help with that?" He asked eyeing the brunette struggling with three large bolts of cloth.
"I'll be fine." White replied and casting one last glance at Sapphire before exiting the shop.
An hour later, she was really starting to regret not accepting Wally's help. Juggling a bolt of black satin, midnight blue brocade, white silk, two bags of shoes, hair accessories, red ribbon, silver ribbon, and pale green tulle, she groaned at the thought of walking to her shop, located three blocks away. Just as the thought presented itself in her mind, she walked right into someone. Inwardly, she stifled a groan as her purchases were scattered. She thanked the heavens the cloth was wrapped. A deep voice interrupted her thoughts. "Are you alright, Miss?" A man asked extending a hand out to help her up. Gratefully, she took it and stood.
"Thank you, Sir." She said dusting her skirt.
"Here, why don't I escort you to your destination?" He asked starting to pick up the fallen supplies.
"I would be most grateful if you would." White said as the man got up.
"Where is your direction then, Miss…?" He asked.
"White, and the BW Tailor Shop." She said happily as he smiled at her.
"I am Black." He introduced before offering her an arm. "Shall we?"
White had felt faint when she heard his name. She knew Black was one of the three guardians of Prince Red. She cursed silently but had to accept.
"We shall." She smiled forcefully before taking his arm.
Sapphire stomped out in a huff as she left the infuriating NOBLE. She cringed in disgust at the thought of the man's face. Knowing White had already left, she headed for the Opera House.
"Really?" Wally asked raising an eyebrow.
"She was beautiful!" Ruby defended.
"So you decide to insult her?" Wally asked.
"Her clothes were blighting her beauty!" Ruby exclaimed and started to rant on about the evils of the wrong colors on the wrong people. Wally sighed as he wrapped up his friends purchases.
"Chris!" Emerald called.
"What is it Rald?" Chris asked looking up from her work.
"I found the palace layout." Emerald said laying the map on the table.
"Is this recent?" Chris asked.
"Done last week." Emerald confirmed.
"We'll work with this then, and I'll keep an ear out for news of more renovation." Chris said. Emerald nodded. "Now, we need to come up with a plan to infiltrate the palace." She continued.
"Already?" Emerald asked.
"No, it's just better to be prepared." Chris reassured. "If there are more renovations, we can just build up on what we have." Chris looked around. "How many people do we have that are with us currently?" She asked.
"About two thousand."
"We should start working on the statistics for how many would join before we make a plan." She muttered and Emerald helpfully handed her a pen filled with ink.
"Thanks."
"Silver!" The red head peeked into the room.
"What?" He asked.
"You have to see this." Bill said pointing at the screen.
Silver walked over to the computer and peered at the screen. After taking a look at the numbers and observations, his eyes widened. "Nee-chan!"
"You're stressing, Yellow." Blue smirked as she popped a strawberry into her mouth. The blonde stopped pacing and looked up at her before letting out a sigh and plopping down on the sofa next to her.
"I don't think I'll do well at a ball." She confessed.
"Why not?" Blue asked. Yellow tugged at her long hair with a raised eyebrow. "It's a masquerade. People will sometimes wear wigs." Blue giggled.
"I don't know court mannerisms." Yellow pointed out.
"You'll be wearing a mask, so don't worry about it." Blue waved off.
"Well, I also don't-" Yellow started but was interrupted.
"Nee-chan!" Silver called.
"Coming! You'll be fine, Yellow." Blue reassured before going to find Silver.
"I beg your pardon?" White asked, her eyes wide.
"Would you like to accompany me to a ball?" Black repeated, leaning in closer. Reflexively, she took a step back.
