A/N: the second half to the battle of Yukio and Sylar, with Jessica as Yukio's meister! Song is Circus by Britney Spears
There's only two types of people in the world
The ones that entertain
And the ones that observe
Well baby I'm a Put-on-a-Show kinda girl
Don't like the backseat
Gotta be first
I'm like the ringleader
I call the shots
I'm like a firecracker
I make it hot
When I put on a show
"Let's dance," she smirked, and spun Yukio in his lance form to hold him in both hands and take a step toward him.
She had waited long enough. Watching Yukio fight him had made her restless…itching to be part of the action instead of taking the backseat. She never was one to sit still in battle. She was used to calling the shots when it came to Yukio, and everyone knew her to have a short fuse when it came to battle, too.
"What shall I tell the DJ to play, cutie?" Sylar smirked in return. "Slow or fast?"
"How about a requiem?" she retorted, taking another small step. "After all, this is your funeral."
"That's an interesting power your friend has," he observed, changing the subject as he started toward her too. "I'd like to know how it works. Think I could pick his brain?"
"Like hell," Yukio snapped, still in his lance form.
"You heard him," Jessica shrugged. "Now play that funky music, white boy."
"Oh, this'll be interesting," Sylar smirked evilly, rolling his shoulders to prepare for battle.
I feel the adrenaline moving through my veins
Spotlight on me and I'm ready to break
I'm like a performer
The dance floor is my stage
Better be ready
Hope that ya feel the same
Jessica smirked, feeling the adrenaline starting to pump through her. She felt like she was in a flickering spotlight, and this alleyway was her stage. She'd give him a performance he'd never forget. Whether he was ready or not, she was coming.
Sylar's fingers twitched in excitement as he watched her shoulders tense, and heard her heart starting to thump in her chest. He could see her first move coming. He loved a woman who took initiative.
All the eyes on me
In the center of the ring
Just like a circus
When I crack that whip
Everybody gonna trip
Just like a circus
Don't stand there watching me
Follow me
Show me what you can do
Everybody let go
We can make a dance floor
Just like a circus
The red head charged, running at Sylar with a classic thrust which he dodged effortlessly. She lifted Yukio up and swung him at Sylar, but all she did was cut air.
"Come on!" Sylar taunted as he backed away from another thrust and lifted his hands to beckon her toward him. "That all ya got? Show me what you can really do."
Jessica smirked and leaped up high into the air to do a mid-air somersault, her legs outstretched with ankles together and Yukio in both hands, pointed directly at Sylar. He only lifted his hand and she stopped, hanging in the air, mid-strike as he smirked in triumph.
"Think you're in a circus, Little Miss Acrobat?" he wondered, but frowned slightly in wonder when she only gave a sly smirk.
"I was watching you earlier, Mr. Multiple Powers," she revealed. "Time to crack the whip."
"Soul Resonance!" she and Yukio called together.
The force of a sudden flash made Sylar cringe back, lowering his telekinetic hold on her, and as it quickly grew dark again, Jessica landed on the ground in a kneel and Sylar looked back to her to see what had happened. Jessica slowly stood, not looking up at him as she lifted Yukio up to the side, aligning him with her arm to display him to Sylar. The blade was larger, with more detail in the curves of the curls and hooks, the color having gone from black to silver.
"I'd like to know how that works," he smirked. "I have a proposal for you. Wanna here it?"
There's only two types of guys out there
Ones that can hang with me
And ones that are scared
So baby I hope that you came prepared
I run a tight ship
So beware
I'm like a ring leader
I call the shots
I'm like a fire cracker
I make it hot
When I put on a show
"How about I don't kill you, and you stick with me until I can figure out how that interesting power of yours works?" Sylar proposed, making Jessica frown in wonder.
"The only guys I hang with are the ones that can handle me," she replied. "I can be a slave-driver to my guys, too."
"Trust me, I know," Yukio added, making her glare at the blade.
"I don't hear you complaining!" she shot back, lowering him to stand him up on the pummel, making him tower above her and she spoke up to the blade.
"You don't hear it, but I do, all the time, in fact," Yukio retorted.
"Hello," Sylar called, waving at her. "I'm trying to kill you, here."
"Oh, right," Jessica blurted, holding Yukio in a defensive position again as she replied, "The answer to your proposal is no. I have a place already. I'm not a nomad with nowhere to go…like some people. And by that, I mean you."
"Then I guess there's no point in continuing the conversation," Sylar smirked, his hands sparking with blue electricity. "I might as well just kill you now."
I feel the adrenaline moving through my veins
Spotlight on me and I'm ready to break
I'm like a performer
The dance floor is my stage
Better be ready
Hope that ya feel the same
"You ready, Yukio?" she asked, feeling the hum of him through her hands and vibrating through her body. She loved it when the resonated. It was a performance for her.
"When you are," he confirmed.
"Get on with it, Red!" Sylar snapped as his fingers twitched in anticipation.
Jessica smirked slyly as she murmured, "All eyes on me."
All eyes on me
In the center of the ring
Just like a circus
When I crack that whip
Everybody gonna trip
Just like a circus
Don't stand there watching me
Follow me
Show me what you can do
Everybody let go
We can make a dance floor
Just like a circus
Sylar shot bolts of blue lightening at Jessica, which she instantly dodged by jumping high into the air as she had done before, making Sylar smirk in triumph.
"Don't learn, do you?!" he snapped, lowering his hands then lifting one to use his telekinesis to stop her mid-air once more, but she was prepared for it this time.
Jessica felt she could still use her arms and threw Yukio at Sylar, taking aim and hitting her mark on Sylar's shoulder. He shouted in pain, dropping Jessica who landed on her feet as he stumbled back and against a wall across the alley. She ran at Sylar and grabbed onto Yukio again to shove him completely into the wall, pinning him by the shoulder against the wall.
"That good enough for ya…Gabriel?" she smirked.
"You always hold back, Jess," Sylar shot back before growling in pain when she yanked Yukio from his shoulder, allowing him to appear in his human form and stand next to Jessica with a bored look on his face. Sylar rolled his shoulder as he healed, still smirking, then sighed, "I missed you, ya know?"
"Missed you too, stud," Jessica winked as she stepped toward him, letting him hang an arm around her shoulders.
"You two are crazy," Yukio sighed, shaking his head.
"Don't you know Yuke? It's all just a circus."
A/N: Yeah, I couldn't resist the twist. well this was fun! glad I finally finished it! reviews?
