Author's Note: So this chapter might not be as good as the first one, but I hope that you all like it!

The feeling of his hands on her hips made her smile when she was stood at the stove while she made breakfast for the two of them the next morning, her eyes drifting closed as he pulled her back against his chest with a kiss to the back of her head. She could feel his thumbs caressing her hip bones through her skirt; could feel his breath on the back of her neck while he watched her make their scrambled eggs and the mere thought of being able to have moments like this with him every morning once they were married prompted her heart to race within her chest.

'Are you alright?' Christopher murmured into her curls as he wound his arms around her waist.

She turned her head in his direction once their eggs were done, leaning further into him as she looked up into his eyes. 'Of course I am.' She whispered, bringing her hands to cover his on her stomach before they laced their fingers together. He offered her a tender smile as his hold of her tightened, Jean allowing her eyes to drift closed when he lowered his head to kiss her lips. She felt Christopher linger on her lower lip as their kiss reached its end, a blush rising in her cheeks when her eyes flickered open again and he brushed a brown curl back behind her ear.

'I think I could get used to this.' He admitted as he leaned his forehead against hers and gave her nose a graze with his own, Jean giggling as she pecked his lips before leaving his embrace.

'Yes, well you're going to have to.' She reminded him. 'I'm going to be your wife soon enough and then you're stuck with me.' She lifted the frying pan off of the stove before putting the scrambled eggs onto two plates, her heart swelling when she felt Christopher peck her cheek.

'There's no-one else on earth I would rather be stuck with than you.' He told her before he ran his hands up and down the outside of her arms in advance to walking over to the kitchen table. It was a few moments later when Jean carried his breakfast over to him and set it down on the table, his hand seeking out hers before he placed a kiss on the base of her ring finger. 'I swear that we won't have to wait much longer before we can start planning our wedding. Someone is coming to take a look at the tractor this afternoon and if I manage to sell it then I'll have the money to go out and buy you a ring. If I don't manage to sell it, then -' Jean kissed his temple.

She stroked his hair as she drew back from his skin, nothing but love for him in her eyes. 'Then we'll just have to be patient for a little while longer. I know you're trying as hard as you can, darling, and that's all I'm ever going to ask of you.' He nodded in response as he gave her hand a squeeze before she rested her free hand on his cheek and tilted back his head in order to kiss his lips. 'I love you, Christopher Beazley.' She trailed her hand along his chest through his shirt.

'I love you too, Jean Randall.' He reassured her before releasing her hand so that she could go and get her breakfast from the kitchen counter.

Once she had returned to the table she lowered herself into the chair beside him, said a quiet prayer, and sighed as she began to eat.

Jean watched from where she was sat on the fence to the paddock as Christopher used an axe to chop logs after lunch, her heart racing as she allowed her eyes to travel over him and could see all of the muscles in his back rippling while he worked. When he stopped wielding the axe for a moment in order to wipe the sweat from his brow with the back of his palm and push his fringe away from his forehead, he turned to face her and she saw his lips curve into a smirk.

'It's rude to stare, you know.' He told her as he set the axe down and started to approach her, her eyes sparkling when he stopped in front of her and she wrapped her arms around his neck. Resting his hands on her waist through her blouse, he let her tease the dark hairs at the nape of his neck with her fingers for a few seconds before he leaned in to place his lips on her own. 'How do you feel about joining me for a hack once I've finished up here?' He raised his brow.

'We haven't been on a hack together for months.' She sighed as she ran her fingers through his hair and felt her love for him deepen as his eyes drifted closed at the sensation. 'I've missed it.'

He gave her waist a squeeze. 'Me too.'

She pressed her lips to his once again a few moments later and tightened her arms around his neck when he brought her legs to wind around his waist, one of his hands coming to rest on the small of her back while the other cupped her jaw beneath the curtain of her hair. He gave her bottom lip a stroke with his tongue when he brought her closer, feeling Jean trail her hands across his shoulders and down the outside of his arms as she parted her lips beneath his own.

Their kisses took on a more passionate nature from that moment on, her hands running up and down the front of his chest as he caressed her waist and the two of them shared smiles each time they parted for a second to take in air. He gave her lower lip a nip when he brought their kiss to an end before leaning his forehead against her own and feeling her warm breath beat against his face. 'I love you so much.' He whispered, Jean smiling as she held him close to her.

'I love you too.' She moved her hands from his arms to his neck before pecking his lips.

The two of them remained in their tender embrace for a short while longer before he eased her legs from around his middle and took a step back from her. 'It shouldn't take me much longer to finish with these logs. Why don't you go and get the horses saddled so that we can leave as soon as I'm finished?' Jean nodded before he placed his hands on her waist again and helped her down from the fence, revelling in her natural beauty as he stroked her curls with his hand.

After he had placed a kiss on her forehead she left his hold and turned on her heel in order to head in the direction of the stables, Christopher chuckling when she threw him a beatific smile over her shoulder and he picked up his axe once again in order to finish chopping up the logs.

He didn't know what married life was going to hold for he and Jean, but if there was one thing he was certain of it was that it was never going to be dull.

He ran his fingers through her hair in a soothing manner when they were laying together on a grassy bank that led down to a stream a few hours later, his other hand wrapped around her waist as her head was resting on his shoulder and her hand lay on his chest while she snoozed beside him. It hadn't surprised him that she had fallen asleep just seconds after they had lay down together. He knew that she had barely slept the night before; that she had spent most of the night throwing up in the bathroom, and it was clear to him that it had left her worn out.

Turning his head in her direction, he pressed his lips to her forehead while drawing her further into his warmth. He allowed his lips to linger on her forehead so that he could breathe in her natural scent, his thumb grazing the small of her back through her blouse as his eyes fell shut. Every time he thought back to the night that she had told him she was expecting his baby he despised himself. He could still remember seeing the terror in her eyes; hearing the desperation in her voice as she had begged him not to leave her. The sight of her had made his heart ache.

He wouldn't deny that the thought of making Jean his wife and starting a family with her made him happier than he could say, but he had to admit that he hated knowing that he had put her in such a position. She was only eighteen years old - she wasn't even an adult yet - and yet as soon as she had delivered their baby she was hardly going to have any freedom. She was going to have to spend most of her time indoors with their son or daughter instead of spending time with her friends. She was going to have to give up so much and he was the one to blame for it.

'I can practically hear you brooding, you know.' The sound of Jean's voice brought him out of his thoughts and he couldn't help but chuckle against her forehead as she cuddled up to him, a smile forming on his lips before he left a kiss on her skin and drew back to look into her eyes. 'What's the matter?' She asked as her eyebrows knitted together and she reached up to cup his cheek, Christopher turning his head to press a kiss to her palm before he looked at her again.

'I don't know…' He sighed, 'I suppose I'm just thinking about how much I've deprived you of.'

Jean's eyes were filled with confusion. 'You haven't deprived me of anything.' She said to him.

'You're eighteen, Jean, and pregnant.' He reminded her as he gave her hair a stroke. 'When our baby is born you're going to be so busy and you're going to have to sacrifice so much. You've been out of school for two years and you're already being forced to give up your freedom.' He saw the look that she gave him, his eyes drifting closed when she gave his face a gentle caress.

'You shouldn't blame yourself.' She soothed. 'It takes two people to make a baby, my darling, so I'm just as much to blame for this as you are. I know that I'm going to have more on my plate once I've given birth and I know that I'm going to have to make sacrifices, but I don't care. This is everything I've ever wanted, Christopher.' She blessed him with a smile when he opened his eyes. 'I can't wait to see you hold our baby for the first time and I can't wait to be able to have you hold me on the couch at night while I nurse it. I can't wait for us to be a proper family.'

Her heart fluttered at the look he gave her. 'I don't want freedom. I just want this, sweetheart.'

'You and our baby are all I'm ever going to want or need.' He ran his hand across her belly.

She leaned in to brush his lips with hers before covering his hand with her own. 'Me too, Chris.'

The two of them allowed a few silent seconds to pass then before Christopher removed his hand from her belly and checked his watch, a slight groan escaping him when he saw the time. 'We had better start heading back to the farm so that we're there when Mr. Johnson arrives to have a look at the tractor.' He said, Jean nodding in response before allowing him to stand. He then offered her his hand, a smile appearing on her lips as she took it and he aided her in standing. 'Come here.' He murmured, drawing her close by the waist in order to plant a kiss on her lips.

'What was that for?' She asked once they had parted.

'For being you.' He admitted while leading her back over to the horses. 'Just for being you.'

'Did you manage to sell the tractor?' Jean asked when the two of them were in bed that night, her head resting in the dip of his shoulder as she ran her fingers through his dark chest hair.

Christopher turned his head and buried a kiss in her hair. 'I did.' He smiled. 'Mr. Johnson paid far more than I was expecting for it as well, which means that I've got enough money to buy you a ring and put some aside for our wedding day.' He watched her tilt her head back on his shoulder and felt his love for her deepen at the happiness that he saw sparkling in her eyes.

'I think I'm going to make my dress myself rather than buy one from a store.' She said. 'It'll work out cheaper that way and we can put the money we don't spent on a dress to one side so that we can use it for things for the baby closer to the time.' Christopher smiled down at her.

'You've thought of everything, haven't you?' He chuckled as he snugged her closer to him. 'Mrs. Beazley…' The sound of him testing out her future title caused her heart to flutter in her chest.

'Mmm…' She tangled her leg with his beneath the covers. 'I rather like the sound of that.'

Her eyes fell closed when he used the hand that wasn't resting on her lower back to stroke her cheek, a sigh falling from her lips when she felt him trail kisses along her hairline. 'You need to get some sleep, darling.' He told her. 'You're exhausted and I'm not surprised after last night.'

'I'll be glad when this morning sickness wears off.' She grumbled. 'That's the thing I hate most.'

Christopher smiled while stretching to turn off the lamp on his nightstand, his lips seeking out the top of her head when he turned back to her and covered her small frame further with the quilt. 'I'm sure it won't last much longer.' He said as he started to settle down beside her, Jean murmuring in reply before she left a kiss on the side of his neck. 'I love you; you know that?'

'I do.' She reassured him. 'I love you too.'

He felt her nuzzle her nose into the dip between his neck and shoulder and relax in his embrace then, a secret smile forming on his lips in the dark as he knew she was all he could ever want.
