Servant of Evil
Maid of Evil
Part 1
"Life and Death"
The church bell rung, signalling the birth of the two heirs of the Sabertooth kingdom.
One was a prince with blond hair; a scar like birthmark was seen on the upper side of his face, He was named Sting
The other one was a princess with rose pink hair; a scar like birthmark was also seen on the lower side of her neck, she was named Natsu.
As soon as the twins were born, expectations and pressures were immediately thrown into their lives.
"They will bring great fortune to this kingdom!"
"This kingdom will be remembered as the greatest kingdom with these twins as rulers!"
"They will be the key to our greatness!"
Although their lives were filled with hardship, the twins still persevered and continued to live happily with each other.
Soon as time passed the twins grew up into an excellent prince and princess. Sting grew up into a fine boy, he always stood with pride and never let anyone falter him.
Natsu also grew up into a fine lady, she was always seen staying by her brother's side, she never showed any signs of anger towards her brother or her parent, and she was always there by his side ready to help him with all she can.
But soon as the twins grew up, tragedy after tragedy quickly struck them.
A war suddenly struck the Sabertooth country. Soon the enemy kingdom was too strong to withstand so the king had no other choice but to join in battle.
Natsu and Sting cried the day of the king's departure; they begged him to stay with them instead.
The king did not listen.
Instead he glared at them and yelled in a harsh tone "Stop crying! You both are the heir to the throne! You must not show weakness or else this kingdom shall not survive!" and with that he left, leaving behind the pair of twins, sobbing.
3 days later a messenger came with the news of the king's death.
Natsu and Sting we're staying at the palace garden when the news came, as soon as they both heard it Natsu immediately started crying, while Sting burst in anger.
"He isn't dead!" he yelled before running away.
As soon as he arrived in his and Natsu's bedroom, he threw himself on his bed and cried 'he isn't dead, there is no way father can be dead!" his mind screamed.
On the day of the king's funeral, everyone was dressed in black. The royal family was getting ready for the king's burial...
...All except for a certain prince.
Sting sat on his bed still depressed about his father's death When heard the door silently open "Sting...?" a familiar rose head entered his room.
"Natsu..." he glanced at her before he looked away "...What do you want?" he asked in a rather bitter tone.
"We need to go for father's funeral..." She said, ignoring the tone he used on her.
"Tch, I'm not going..."Sting said.
"Sting, please..." Natsu pleaded, she walked over to him and placed her hand on his shoulder "You mustn't be selfish..."
Growling Sting stood up, startling the rose head, and pushed her away "I said I'm not coming!" he yelled, only to stop when he saw Natsu on the floor sobbing. His anger was immediately replaced with guilt when he saw his little sister crying.
Out of instincts he wrapped his arms around her and gave her a hug "Natsu, please don't cry. I'm sorry..." Sting whispered while he tightened his arms around her, despite his own tears falling.
Natsu clutched her brother's shirt, trying her best to stop her sobbing "I'm sorry, Natsu..." she heard him whisper again. Pulling back she wiped away the tears in her eyes before looking at her equally sobbing brother.
She knew he was trying his best to stay strong for her, but she also didn't want to see her brother cry. Holding back her tears, she pulled out her handkerchief and started wiping the tiny droplet of tears in her twin's eyes.
"Sting, didn't dad said that were not suppose to cry..." Sting slowly stopped sobbing and looked at his sister, letting her wipe away the tears in his eyes "...We mustn't show any weakness, or else dad will get angry at us again..." wiping away the last tear, Natsu forced a smile "...So let's get stronger together ok ,Sting" She gave him a weak grin before hugging him.
Sting couldn't find any words to say anything, instead he returned the hug and let his sister comfort him, that's right, it was always her who comforts him the most, either he needed it or not, it was always her who stayed by his side.
"I'm sorry Natsu..." he sobbed, feeling a bit foolish for crying again.
"There's nothing to be sorry about..." she whispered back.
6 years later
"Sting~!" Natsu whined while she tried to keep up with her brother.
The twins were currently running across the castle hallway, Sting was leading in front of Natsu while the latter was struggling to keep up with him, while trying hard not to trip on her night gown.
"Hurry up, Natsu!" Sting said while slowing down a bit.
"I'm trying~!" Natsu whined again. She let out squeak when she accidentally stepped on the end of her gown and tripped. She groaned when she felt the cold marble of the castle floor come in contact with her face.
"Natsu!" Sting rushed to her side and helped her up "Are you ok?"he asked in concern.
Natsu held her face while she half-heartedly glared at her twin "No shit Sherlock..." she said.
Sting huffed and flicked a finger on his sister's forehead "Language, Natsu-chan" he scolded before he gave her a teasing smile.
The princess pouted in annoyance, Sting knew that she hated it when he used the suffix –chan on her name "Whatever..." she muttered.
Standing up, the twins again ventured their way to where Sting wanted to go "So..." Natsu said and raised a brow at his twin "where are we going exactly?" she asked.
Sting grinned before he took her hand and ran, dragging his sister behind him "Hey!" Natsu whined and tried her best not to trip again.
"Hurry up Natsu, it's almost sunrise..." Sting grinned while glancing at the tall window of the castle "Were almost there..." he muttered.
The twins ran down the circular stairs, Natsu stumbled a bit almost having headache from all the twisting and turning.
After a few more minutes of running the twins came to a stop in the garden. Natsu shivered when she felt the cold morning air touch her skin.
"Here..." Sting removed his coat and wrapped it around the shivering pinkette. Natsu sighed in relief "Thanks..."
The young prince grinned and turned to a small bush of yellow roses "Come on..." he said and Natsu followed.
The twins stopped in front of a bush filled with yellow roses, Sting crouched down and gestured to Natsu to do the same.
The twins watched as the sun rose and the light slowly touched the small bud. Natsu watched in amazement as the small bus slowly opened and soon it showed a fully blossomed rose.
"Wow! That was so cool! What was it Sting?! Was that magic!?" Natsu excitedly asked while looking at her brother with sparkly eyes.
Sting can't help but sweatdrop at his sister's childishness "Natsu, you know there's no such thing as magic..."
"Yes there is!"
"No there isn't!"
"HMP! If there isn't then how was that magician able to make that lady disappear last night at the circus!?" Natsu said while pointing an accusing finger at sting. Recalling the magic performance they saw last night.
"You know there is such things like tricks right?" Sting replied while giving her an unfazed look.
"T-then what about when Mr chefman easily made that spoon soft!"
"It was an illusion, Natsu. Come on just face it there is no such thing as magic..."
"B-but..."
"..."
"..."
"O-OI! DON'T CRY!" Sting quickly panicked when he saw huge fat tears slowly gather at the pinkette's eyes.
"STING-KUN YOUR SO MEAN! UUWAAAHHH!" Natsu wailed while covering her eyes with the back of her hand.
"Wait natsu please don'-ack!" Natsu smirked before she tackle sting to the ground and had him in a headlock "Haha! Caught you off guard! Now take that back!"
Sting struggled in his sister's bonds and tried to set himself free.'since when was she this strong?he though as he was able to successfully slip from her and started running.
"Sting! Get back here!"
"You'll have to catch me first!"
As the two kids laughed and ran around the garden, none of them seem to notice a dark shadow looming behind one of the castle windows.
Minerva smirked as she watched the twins run around the garden "The boy will be much easier to manipulate but..." her eyes landed on the pinkette who finally tackled her twin to the ground.
"That little princess might be a problem..." she said with a bit of disdain visible in her eyes "No matter I can take care of the little problem..." she said before heading off to the council meeting.
A few months later...
"MINERVA!" Sting yelled as he stormed towards the council room, in blind rage.
The young prince slammed the door open and glared at the 4 councils who were sitting there with unfazed look.
"Where's Natsu!?" he demanded, his eyes fixed on the dark haired woman, who was sitting right next to a huge old man.
"Sting-sama, it's too early for this..." Minerva just said while she wrote something down on a paper, not bothering to even look at him.
"Don't give me that shit, woman! I can't find Natsu anywhere and the guards told me that you ordered them to take her away from the castle! What did you do to her?"
Minerva frowned at those worlds and placed her pen down "Watch your language boy, you are in the presence of the council and such manners will not be accepted here in this room"
Sting did not listen and glared at them "As the prince of Sabertooth, I demand to know where you have taken Natsu!"
The council looked at the young prince for awhile, most of them pleased about the boy using his position against them.
Minerva, inwardly smirked as she saw the flames within his eyes. Perfect, everything was going according to her plan. She glanced at the head council and saw him stood up from his seat and looked at prince.
"As the prince then, you deserve to know this" Genma said and looked at the other council for approval. They all nodded.
"The council has decided that Natsu Eucliff shall be stripped off her position as the princess of sabertooth, and shall be send to the Fairy country where she will continue her studies"
"Wha-?" Sting's eyes widened and his whole body suddenly became stiff.
"From this day on, princess Natsu won't cease to exist, her whole existence shall be erased from this kingdom she is forbidden to enter or set foot within this kingdom ever again."
"YOU CAN'T DO THIS!" Sting yelled, his vision slightly blurring from the tears that were building up.
"You are not of legal age to rule this kingdom yet, so until you are officially crowned king the council shall be in charge of making decision for this kingdom" Minerva said with a tone of triumph.
The prince didn't listen "Where's Natsu!?"
Dist, the 3rd council, smirked "Natsu-san, is probably in the harbour by now, once the ship has sailed it'll be too late for you to catch her."
Sting ignored and immediately ran to the stables where he took the fastest horse and galloped to the harbour.
Natsu silently sat down near one of the edge of the boat, her once elegant clothes were now replaced with simple peasant's clothe. Her hair was tied into a pony tail and was covered by a hat, so no one would recognize her.
'We decided to remove you from the royal family. You shall now be known as Natsu Dragneel, you are forbidden to ever set foot in this kingdom again!'
Minerva's voice rang within her mind, and once again tears threatened to fall from her eyes. She clutched the golden locket around her neck and her mind quickly wandered to her twin brother Sting.
"W-what about Sting?'
Slap!
Natsu stared, eyes wide, as she touched where the female council slapped her while Minerva glared at her with obvious disgust "You are not to speak his name so formally from now on, he is now the next heir and you're just a mere peasant. If Natsu Eucliffe stayed by his side and became the queen then she would have only been a burden to him"
Natsu quickly wiped away the tear with her arm as more threatened to fall. She didn't want to burden Sting, but at the same time she also didn't want to leave him.
'It's not fair...' she thought and sadly glanced back to her home. She was going to leave this place forever, might as well savour the moment of it.
As Natsu watched the harbour slowly disappear, her eyes suddenly darted to a familiar figure standing near the harbour.
"Sting!?" Natsu quickly stood up to get a better look.
True to her vision, Sting was there on the harbour trying to jump off the railings "Natsu! Natsu!" Sting yelled. A couple of guards who followed the blonde saw him about to jump of and quickly pulled him away "Your highness, please stop!"
Natsu who saw the whole thing, ran to the opposite side of the boat, her hat coming off, showing the entire crew her rose pink hair "Sting!" she yelled. She was about to jump off the edge, wanting to swim toward the blonde, but then a pair of arms suddenly pulled her away.
She turned to see who it was, her teary eyes widened when she saw a familiar eyes looking back at her "Yukino..."
Sting struggled from his bonds, and kept repeating his sister's name "Natsu! Come back!" he yelled, tears freely falling from his eyes.
"Sting-sama please, don't make this more harder for us..." a familiar voice was suddenly heard from behind. Sting turned to see Rogue walking towards them "Rogue!" he pushed the guards away and turned his attention to his friend "Rogue! Where are they taking natsu!? Why aren't you guys doing anything!? I thought all of you liked Natsu, why did you just let the council do as they wish!?"
"Please calm down." Rogue assured him while crouching down until they were eyes level "Sting-sama, I know it's hard for you, but please try to understand. We too didn't wish for this but we are just mere servant of the council. We have no rights to oppose them." Rogue explained.
Sting remained silent and looked toward the other guards. As Rogue had said, their faces we're etched with both anger and worry at the same time. They looked like they were trying to hold themselves back from going after Natsu too.
"Sting, you mustn't be selfish"
Sting eyes widened, remembering his sister's words.
"The least we can do right now, is give Natsu-san a proper farewell." Rogue said while watching the ship slowly grew farther and farther away.
Sting nodded and wiped away the tears on his eyes with the sleeve of his shirt. He straightened his face before he waved.
"Natsu, I'll become king! I'll be the greatest king there is in Sabertooth! And once I'm king I will definitely bring you home!"
Natsu silently sat down near Yukino, thinking of what she told her. They were sitting in a secluded room. Yukino figured they needed some place where they can talk in private and lead her to the back of the ship where they found a secluded room.
"So, I no longer exist in his life..." Natsu silently muttered while looking at the gold pendant in her hands.
Yukino sadly nodded "You will be transferred to another country where you will finish your studies and right after that you are to never set foot in Sabertooth as long as you live..."
Natsu said nothing and remained silent. Yukino looked at the saddened princess before speaking "Minerva had planned all of this"
Natsu instantly shivered at the mentioned of the devil who was the reason for all of this.
"Minerva managed to convince the entire council that sabertooth only needed one ruler and if ever the two of you would both rule then there might be a possibility that one of you will end up declaring a war for the throne. The council agreed immediately ad chose Sting to be the next heir and as for you..." Yukino trailed off while Natsu only looked at her with serious eyes.
"They ordered you to kill me, didn't they?" Natsu knew Minerva all too well to just banish her from her own country, she knew her too well that even if her plans were already set then she has to make sure that it will be to her own accord even if it means to kill.
Upon hearing those words, Yukino nodded and drew out a twisted dagger "I'm sorry Natsu, but I can't defy their orders"
Natsu's eyes widened in fear when she felt Yukino grab her by her shoulder and slammed her to the nearest wall before she held her down by her neck. Natsu coughed and saw that Yukino's face has changed, her eyes became blank and held no hesitation, in her hand the dagger gleamed.
She raised her arm "for I am just a mere servant"
The blade swung down and soon the walls were coated with splatters of blood.
