Spike was excited that the trail of footprints Bron found could lead to his mother. Opal was wagging her tail and said "Fun adventure." Opal asked Bron "Grandpa, can I see Grandma?" Bron said "Of course we can dear. She would have loved you if she were still alive."

Opal asked Littlefoot "Daddy, how did Grandma die?" Littlefoot responded "She died protecting me from a sharptooth." Opal started crying and Littlefoot licked her until she stopped crying. Opal said "I hatched because you watched Grandma die." Littlefoot said "You look exactly like her."

Opal asked Ali "Mommy, how did you meet daddy?" Ali told the story of helping Littlefoot find the Night flower to cure his grandpa and then when they started sleeping together they mated and Ali got pregnant with her.

Opal looked at Bron and asked "Grandpa, why are mommy and daddy so young?" Bron answered "They are so young because I found Littlefoot just before you hatched. When I first saw them I had a feeling they mated but when Ali showed me your egg I was shocked."

Bron, Littlefoot, Ali, Opal and the gang set out on their adventure. Cera asked Ali "What was it like to lay an egg?" Ali responded "Easier than I thought. I thought it would hurt more than it did. The first egg is the hardest but the next eggs are easier because my body is already stretched out from carrying the egg."

The group followed their footprints and Littlefoot said "Wow, we were heavier than I thought." As they traveled through the desert they saw a small figure in the distance. As they got closer they saw it was Chomper. Chomper asked "What are you guys doing out here?" Spike answered "Bron who is Littlefoot's dad found a trail going from my nest and we are going to follow it and hopefully find my parents."

Chomper joined the adventure and Littlefoot introduced Ali. Chomper noticed the baby on Littlefoot's back and said "Your baby is cute." Ali said "Her name is Opal." Opal said "Friendly sharptooth."

Bron took a detour so Opal could see her grandma's grave. When they arrived the ghost of Helen appeared. Opal said "Grandma." Opal went to the body and started crying. Opal said "I wish you were still alive Grandma." Just then a white light from a star covered the body and Helen opened her eyes.

Everyone was shocked. Opal said "I want you to be happy daddy." Helen got on her feet and asked "What are you doing here?" Bron answered "As I was looking for Littlefoot I saw some footprints leading away from a spiketail nest and we are going to follow them."

Helen knew where they were going and everyone followed her. Cera said "Spike's parents are probably dead because they never saw him hatch." Ducky who was riding on Spike said "If there is no proof they died they must be alive."

They arrived at Spike's nest and headed east. The dry cracked ground eventually changed into a bog. The kids took a ride on Bron and Helen to cross the bog. On the other side the trail headed north.

After a few days Bron and Helen arrived at a valley. Everyone looked at all the spiketails living there. Spike said "There are hundreds of spiketails."

The kids explored the valley. They first tried to find the leader. A dark purple spiketail saw they were looking for someone. He approached the group. He asked "Are you looking for someone?" Bron said "Yes, we are looking for the leader of the herd." The spiketail replied "That would be me."

The leader introduced him to the group "My name is Dan and I lead this herd." Bron said "We came from the Great Valley and we are looking for Spike's parents." Dan's eyes widened he said "I thought the stories I herd about those kids were rumors but it's all real."

Spike followed Dan and Dan said "We were lucky to find your mom when we did. If the herd hadn't noticed her she would have died." Spike said "Your herd saved mom's life."

They approached two spiketails eating ferns. One spiketail was lime green and the other was olive green. Dan said "Ivy I have wonderful news." Ivy turned around and faced Dan. Dan said "Remember that egg you laid and the herd found you starving to death."

Ivy said "Yes I looked everywhere trying to remember where the nest was." Spike said "Mom." Ivy said "I'm your mom and this is your dad." The olive green spiketail licked his son. Ben said "So you are our son."

Spike took Ivy and Ben to meet his friends. Everyone was happy Spike found his parents. Chomper said "That was fast. I was going to smell everyone until I found Spike's parents." Littlefoot said "Chomper that would only worked if you had smelled them before but since you never met them it would have been impossible." Dan said "With a herd this large it would take a long time."

Chomper was surprised Dan didn't try and kill him. Chomper said "Dan this is the point where strangers kill me." Dan said "Spiketails only attack when they are defending themselves or when they are scared. We would never attack a kid."

Opal licked Spike she was happy Spike found his parents. Dan, Ivy and Ben were shocked. Their eyes looked like they were about to pop out of their heads. Littlefoot said "You look like you have never seen a baby before." Dan said "I have seen babies but I have never seen a baby so small." Ali said "That's because we are so young."

Dan said "You two are still kids. How did she hatch?" Littlefoot said "My dad was never around because he was searching for me because he left my mom when she was pregnant with me to find a safe home and I watched my mom die protecting me from a sharptooth."

Dan asked "If you watched your mom die how she is standing here?" Littlefoot said "Bron took Opal to Helen's grave and Opal wished she was alive and then mom was resurrected." Ali said "It was Opal's star day when she visited Helen's grave."

Spike was looking around the valley when he met a group of spiketail kids. Spike immediately recognized Tibby and Tibby introduced his pink sister. Tibby said "Sister Rose." Spike looked at the kids and said "This is straight out of my sleep stories. You look exactly like what my friends would look like if they were spiketails."

A brown girl spiketail said "My name is Brownie." A pink spiketail said "I'm Brownie's sister my name is Pearl." A grey spiketail said "My name is Pat." An olive green spiketail said "My name is Amy."

The kids returned to their nests and Amy followed Spike. Ben and Ivy kissed their kids. Ivy said "I see you met your sister Spike." Spike said "You had another baby." Ivy said "After I recovered I wanted to have a baby to show I can be a good mother."

Ben and Ivy went to Dan and suggested the herd move to the Great Valley. Dan said "That's exactly what I was thinking." Dan got the herd ready to go to the Great Valley.
