Back in DC there were 2 nosey agents looking over at the younger agent. The four teens were also gawking at him. He began to feel self-conscious.
"What's wrong?" He asked.
The yellow and black clad girl, Kira she said her name was, snapped out of it first. "What did you call Hailey? And what was that about a soaking?"
"Hailstorm. We both went to MIT, along with another guy that wore a lot of red, like your friend Conner. His name was Thomas until the two of us shortened it to Tommy. Anyhow, Hayley and I did a computer course together and were always partnered together. Secondly, They dumped a bucket of ice water on me when I was late one day."
The four teens looked at him in shock. Their nice and sweet Hailey turned out to be totally different but then again it was years ago. Right?
"So you're saying you know both Dr. O and Hailey" Ethan bluntly asked.
"Yes." Timmy replied.
"Is she hot?" Tony asked. "Or is she all geeky like you McGoo?"
The teens Timmy's computer as he brought up their old yearbook pictures.
"He had spikes?" Kira said before the quartet burst out laughing.
Hayley and Tommy got into DC in the early hours of the next morning. After saying goodbye to Hailey's pilot friend, they checked into a hotel near Potomac Airport. Hailey paced the room nervously as Tommy began getting ready for bed.
"I want to make sure they're OK Tommy. I'm afraid one of them's hurt or worse." Hayley confided.
Tommy paused getting ready for bed "I'm sure they're perfectly OK Hayley." He said, comfortingly putting an arm around her and halting her pacing. "They're tough. They defeated Mesogog."
In truth, they were OK. They had all gone to sleep in the same room, for obvious reasons. In the room there was a couch, a cot and a double bed. The boys agreed it would be weird for two of them to share the double. They let Kira pick the numbers for the couch and the cot. Ethan got the cot and Conner found the couch to be comfier than Dr. O's which left Trent to share with her.
In the morning Conner was spread out, Ethan was curled into a ball, while Kira and Trent had subconsciously curled into one another during the night. Kira woke up first and climbed out of bed to start the kettle.
"Is that you Kir?" Trent asked sleepily.
Kira rolled her eyes. "No, I'm Alyssa the white tiger ranger." She said sarcastically
"That's you. Only person that's up and sarcastic this early." He said sitting up.
"Quiet guys. The championship is at stake." Conner said, still sound asleep.
Kira and Trent rolled their eyes at the soccer player as Trent got up and took the mug offered to him as the kettle finished boiling.
There was then a knock at the door.
"5 more minutes Mom. It's summer." Ethan muttered into his pillow.
"Are you awake?" An accented female voice asked.
"Not really agent David." Kira said, opening the door as Trent poured the boiling water into the mugs. "Coffee?" She offered as Ziva saw the two sleeping boys.
"Why couldn't it have been Tony?" She sighed. "He knows how teenage boys work because he's still one in his head."
Ten minutes later, after a small threat to certain body parts with a paperclip, Conner and Ethan were up, dressed and drinking their coffee.
"I was told to bring you in because your guardians arrived early this morning."
"Hailey and Tommy are here. Great!" Kira said sarcastically.
Hayley and Tommy were waiting for the kids and talking to Timmy.
"You do know you guys shouldn't wear so much of your color. It can get easy to notice you out of uniform,"
Tony looked up from his computer in confusion.
Hayley face palmed. "Guys. Later." She turned to Tony. "Where are the kids?"
"Uh…" Tony said sheepishly as the elevator opened to show Ziva with the four teens. "There."
The teens walked up to Hailey who hugged each of them and gave them a once over.
The teens were talking to the Hailey and Timmy, talking about various things (but mainly Tommy's college days, much to his amusement.) when Tommy turned to Gibbs.
"Who was it that my students found? There's a group of us that know each other from when I travelled a bit. It's possible I know them." He suggested.
Gibbs showed him Eric's picture and Tommy sat down in shock. "Someone's going to have to tell Taylor."
"I've caught up with her recently, Tommy." Hayley said. "She's going to kill the messenger."
"I'll go, Boss." Timmy volunteered, causing Hailey and Tommy to look at him questioningly. "This isn't the kind of news you'd give impersonally. Plus Tony isn't a kid person."
Tony looked slightly miffed at the accusation while Gibbs smirked. "Fine, but bring Ziva with you."
Tim looked uncomfortable but nodded anyway before grabbing a set of keys.
McGee and Ziva walked up to a small house and knocked on the door. A girl, about three or four, answered the door before gleefully clinging to Tim's legs.
"Erica. What did I tell you…Timmy?" A blonde woman said, opening the door further. "Erica, go play upstairs. OK?"
The girl looked at her mother in confusion. "But mommy, it's Uncle Mothy!"
Ziva smiled faintly at the girl's innocence before remembering why they were there.
Timothy crouched down to the little girl's eye level. "Hey Erica," He started, "How about you show my friend, Ziva, to see all the stuffed animals you have." He looked up at said woman who nodded.
"Do you have any lions?" Ziva asked.
Erica nodded shyly and held up three fingers.
"Do they have any names?" Ziva inquired.
"Red, Leo and Cub. Cub is Red's baby." Erica informed Ziva.
"May I see them?" Ziva asked, encouragingly.
Erica nodded and began climbing the stairs with Ziva following her.
