The art of free-falling
On all of the times he spent flying, Grey Kyrielight never knew it could be so pleasurable.
The pattern goes like this. Fly up as high as he can, fold his wings then free fall until he reaches the surface, stretch his wings before he hits the said surface, fly up again, then repeat!
Doing this for hours, he didn't realize he circled the globe 2 times now. Completely oblivious of the mess that he created by doing so. Flapping his enormous wings required magicules, in exchange, his flaps become very destructive. Flattening lands and uprooting trees with nothing but the gust of wind it creates.
He's also spotted flying by the citizens of many different countries and territories as well. Resulting in uproars, mainly because of his black wings. Is it an angel sent by God? Is the world ending soon? Countless theories and rumors sprouted with only his flying around, as the reason.
But needless to say, he didn't just waste his time flying around the planet for 3 hours straight. He memorized the place, sorted his only abilities, and adjusted the size and strength of his wings.
Currently, he only has 3 abilities. First and foremost, his wings. According to a mysterious voice in his head, it's made of an alloy unknown to man. With the ability to analyze and absorb almost anything it touches, and the fact that it nullifies physical attacks, it's an almost indestructible weapon. Just as Velda told him it would be. It's also capable of freely altering its state to better fit his desire. It's detachable and is very versatile. Strong, yet also soft. Flexible, yet sturdy. Having this in a place like where he's currently in puts him at ease.
Next is a skill called [Absolute Territory]. By folding his wings and enclosing space, he can cut said space's connection to the rest of the world. Removing the concept of time and giving him absolute authority over it. Basically, he creates a place where he's king. He can rewind time, simulate possibilities, create images, and even conjure real things in there. He realized he could do so after creating a change of clothes that better fit the theme of the world he's in.
It's a simple brown haired shirt that befitted the "Fantasy" theme, and jeans of a darker shade of brown. He disguised his wings to be a coat that's only buttoned on the neck and has a hoodie. (similar to what they wear on AOT) The coat is colored black that somehow doesn't absorb heat. Realizing it, he questioned its existence once but stopped moments later.
And last but not the least, this voice that's in his head. He still doesn't name it, but it says that its a prototype of the ability called [Wisdom King: Raphael]. Grey's not very fond of naming things as it's said to increase your attachment with it, that in which enlarges the despair you get after losing it. But that's not to say he's not gonna name it, we just have to wait for a while.
After sorting it all out, he then started to ask questions to the voice inside his head. And somehow it managed to answer all of them. It says that it is made to be omniscient but it was discarded after developing a major flaw, one that it couldn't tell him. With it, he also found the name and appearance of the person he's supposed to protect. He panicked after realizing he was never informed about even the name of Velda Nava's daughter and [To be filled]'s answer calmed him down.
Finally sorting everything out and keeping his brain in order, he wondered what to do next... Speaking of what to do next...Seriously what to do next?
His mind went blank as he maps out the aerial view of the world that he engraved in his mind. Wondering where to go. He doesn't even know her location, and so does [To be filled].
So instead, he jumped off the edge of the cliff he's been hanging around. Closed his eyes and flew.
'Milim Nava, huh...'
He thought as he stretched his wings and flapped it gently.
Its been a few weeks since he arrived in that world, and all he did so far is haunt monsters. Why, you ask? It's to gather abilities to expand his arsenal! He was told that it would take years before the "calamity" Velda Nava was talking about would come to happen. And he was sent so far back in time all to allow him to get stronger. And what better way it is to get stronger other than getting experience?
He would go around asking people about monsters they know while wearing a fox mask to hide his identity. He then would hunt said creatures and fight it, allowing him to take a few blows from the monsters. Whether it would be physical or magical attacks, he would block it with his wings as it absorbs them.
His wings would analyze the attacks that would, later on, allow him to use it as well. It is a truly amazing ability that he's been cultivating, and with the aid of his helper, or the voice in his head, he would easily learn those abilities and apply it on live fights.
Doing this pattern has gained him strength, and for some reasons popularity. There's this one time when he decided to hunt a nest of dragons that's been terrorizing the villages around Brumund for decades. And with people seeing him obliterate those dragons, they were only able to recognize one thing. His wings. That in which somehow earned him a title of the "Angel of Death". And the fact that some even decided to create statues of an angel with black wings, made it even worse. They worshipped the statues and culled sheep as offerings. They would leave it overnight and see it gone the next day. Those poor people think that he takes the offerings, but in reality, cunning animals snatch the food at night. And watching the crime happen sometimes makes him wanna laugh.
And another day rising, he decided to go somewhere else. Extraordinary monsters are everywhere, and the stronger the monsters he fights, the stronger he also becomes. Flying just above the Great Forest of Jura, he scouted it with a bird's eye view. It seems peaceful enough. Nothing out of the ordinary. Except the extraordinary usually hide themselves.
Landing near a village from above, he covertly shrunk his wings, disguising it as a coat. After that, he went to the village and acted like an adventurer, casually starting a talk with one of the citizens. He first saw an old man with bunny-ears, seeing kind of both weirded and disgusted him out, but he still proceeded anyways.
"Hello, can I ask a few questions?"
Boldly talking to him made the old rabbit lycanthrope puzzled.
"Ah, it's been so long since I last saw human adventurers. As long as it's possible for me to answer, I'll help you."
The old lycanthrope stood formally and dropped his ax. Dusting himself out as he readies to answer his questions. Unluckily for him though, Gray can easily sense the nervousness and uneasiness he's emitting. He also detected a dagger inside the lycanthrope's fur coat, but for him, it isn't something as big as a threat.
He then started questioning him regarding strong monsters that he has knowledge of. He then later found out that there's a myth around the outskirts of Jura forest.
Break their ranks and ride them down, for their terror will be worth an eternity
This is a quote passed on from generation to generation. The story of the mist centaur. A menacing story that haunted children for ages. It was meant to keep children for wandering at night, but some say that it's real. The story goes like this. Once night falls, every middle of winter, a mist appears and engulfs the nearest village it can find. There, the Mist Centaur travels. It takes joy in slaughter as it eats the souls of the freed.
And whether it's real, or it's not, doesn't matter. The only thing that matters thus far is that it's his target. And it's going down.
"Now that I think about it, you're quite a daring adventurer, aren't you?"
The old man suddenly rebutted.
"Excuse me?"
"Think about it! With the protection of the Storm Dragon Veldora, not a single adventurer dared to step on these grounds, not until now! I wonder what's keeping you motivated, but boy you should be careful"
Hearing it kind of flustered him for some reason. But that doesn't mean he didn't understand what it meant.
"If you're gonna try to kill that mythical creature, then we'll be happy to accommodate you. For a price, of course."
'Isn't he getting off track?'
Suddenly realizing that the man's only monopolizing him, he politely turned down the offer as he had no money with him, and just came strolling around the streets.
'Pretty lively, huh.'
Walking around trying to gain information, he didn't realize it's already nightfall. Since the forest is full of big, blooming trees shading the whole ground, he only started to notice because nobody else is outside.
It's not like he actually has a place to stay, but the bugs that land on him while he's sleeping just doesn't fit well with his high quality of life back at home. Using [Absolute Territory] is not an option either. He could sleep for over a hundred years there, but it wouldn't amount to 1 minute in real time. And considering that he needed to pass time until day strikes once again, he gave up and started to position himself under a tree.
"Psst! Hey..."
Opening his eyes as he heard someone calling him, he looked around. It's an old lady.
"You're the adventurer everyone was talking about, right?"
Standing in front of her door, she started chatting with him. It's already night, isn't it? So what business would someone like her have to do with him? Even more, he never talked with her earlier.
"It's dangerous outside at times like these, isn't it? You can stay here for the night."
Shook awake by the offer, he looked intently at the old lady.
'Naive. Very naive ma'am.'
He knows that it's a bad decision. It could be a trap. She could actually be a sadist waiting for her prey to bite the trap. He could get drugged once he stepped inside and be tortured for who knows how long. Or the old lady is just very trusting. And deciding to trust someone you barely even knew the existence of, is a very wrong thing to do.
But, considering the situation, accepting it would be the wiser choice. If anything happens, he could enlarge his wings and deploy [Absolute Territory] to the whole house to resolve the problem. Plus it's not like he'll steal from them too. So he ended up accepting it.
"Blanket?"
"No, thank you. I can make do with this."
Sleeping on cold hard ground with only a single pillow, he bent himself and wallowed in his thoughts. He appreciated the hospitality of the lady, but it's seriously just cold. Standing back up, he noticed an empty fireplace, so he rolled his wings and conjured a few things. Firewood and fuel. Setting up the wood under the cement chimney they somehow had, he took a stick and rubbed it to the surface of the wood, creating friction and igniting a fire. He then slowly poured the gas compound he made.
Facing the fire he just created, he breathed on his palms and started rubbing it against each other. He already experienced frostbite before, and he, for one, knows that he wouldn't wanna experience it again. So he applied some heat on his palms and thawed the cold by positioning it near the fire.
And then, he's done. Finishing the fireplace, he sat in front of it, enjoying the heat. While at the same time, getting ready to sleep. But wait...
His wings picked up a small figure behind him. Who could it be? Seeing that it's only a child, he glanced to the direction of where she is and invited her near the fire.
The shy, gentle approach of the girl then slowly got closer to him. Sitting beside him while basking in front of the fireplace. Staring at him, the girl had a very curious look at her face. It almost seemed like she wanted to ask something.
"Mr...How?"
Seeing her bunny ears moving as she admires the fire, he felt a nostalgic feeling that panged his chest. It felt nice. And he could only wonder why he felt that way.
He turned his eyes to her and smiled.
"Ok. Listen..."
it's finally time. The townsfolks says that it usually comes at this time of the winter. And he had prepared his groundwork.
'It's time.'
It's the middle of the night, and he's ready. Activating the skill [Night Vision] he obtained after absorbing the blood of a bat, he scouted from the skies cautiously. He's been preparing for two weeks now, and it all came to this moment. The mist appears and disappears almost immediately, only being visible to places where it would slaughter. So he had to be very keen. He memorized all the settlements and camps of all creatures on the whole forest, constantly passing a look on every single one of them
Only a few minutes later...
"Hiyaaaaa!"
'A scream? Based on the sound, it came from someone young, and female.'
With his wings pinpointing the source of the scream, he landed back down. Only to notice the same young girl he was with before.
"Help! Anyone!" She screamed.
Standing behind her as he retracts his wings, he gently approached the girl. Seeing her cough out blood to the ground, he realized he had to hurry.
"Hey! What happened?"
"Please help them! It's a monster! "
She exclaimed. She seems to have hit her head, as she has a wound on her forehead. She's having trouble breathing and is crying. He immediately assessed the situation and traced her footsteps. He then enveloped her using his wings and shrunk the space she put her in, allowing him to transport her with only a single feather enclosing the space. He retraced her footsteps and immediately moved.
This is it! A big catch! If something like this has been rampaging to this scale, then there's only one reason why this myth has never been confirmed. Noticing mist as it gets thicker with every step that he does, he knew that he's running in the right direction. He then started to see houses, small wooden houses that somehow had the same style as the village he first went to. But he, of all people, would know that it's not the same. After all, that village was over 3 kilometers west from the position he found the girl. And he obviously went south from there.
Inspecting the village, and adding the fact the one it resembled the most is kilometers away from where he's at, he realized that he's never been on this village before. He could've sworn that he knew all the settlements and its locations. But that doesn't matter anymore, does it?
Finishing all his internal monologues, he dispersed his wings and sensed his surroundings. Since his wings pick up all kinds of waves, he usually could draw a 3D map of the location, using sound waves, wind movements and more as variables. But to his surprise, he can't! He only ever noticed shadows moving around the mist, the one that he's been following around since coming there.
"What the-"
Answer: A jamming element was found in the mist. I advise to blow it away immediately.
'This is the village that I was staying at, right? It wouldn't be polite to blow it away. Besides, there could still be people in here"
U-Understood.
Finishing his mental conversation with the voice in his head, he noticed a revealing presence emerging from the shadow. It was blue, humongous, and wields a blue spear. It also has a somewhat ominous aura, enough to intimidate even him.
It then proceeded to point its spear to him and opened its mouth.
"You..."
"Me?"
Opening its mouth, he chuckled as he saw that even its breath is dyed blue. Like what the hell?
"Strong..."
It whispered. Dropping its spear and stepping back into the mist, until it somehow disappeared.
Witnessing this made his body tremble. It's beyond anything he's fought before in his stay here. And the fact that he was somehow led to its territory, made his body drop cold sweat all over. Fear crept up all over him as he tries to suppress it, keeping his attention on the Centaur.
"Fear..."
He suddenly heard a loud whisper. Unable to ascertain its source, it's like the mist itself was producing the sound.
"Terror...Despair..."
Checking his surroundings, he started to be alarmed, barely managing to keep track of the Centaur.
"It is what fuels us...Demons."
Demons? He went here to fight monsters, not some kind of buffed up ghost. Tilting his head after realizing his fate, he struggled to keep his composure.
"To make such a powerful being produce fear...The great one would ascend me to a Demon Duke."
'Great One? Demon Duke? What the hell's happening?'
Utterly confused about what the demon was saying, he cleared his head. Thanking his enemies' monologues to buy him enough time to regain his composure.
"Oh, it's gone..."
'Shut up, will you?'
Unveiling his wings as he's now ready to fight, he readied himself. Fully aware of his surroundings, and ready to counter-attack when necessary.
"My Granddaughter! Where's my Granddaughter?!"
Suddenly, an old lady appeared from deep within the mist, searching for her lost Granddaughter. Seeing the face of the lady, he realized that she's the same person that accepted him when he was about to sleep on the side of the road.
"Wait! Get out of here! Now!"
"Perfect."
Under a blink of an eye, both Grey and the Demon Centaur raced for the old lady's position. One looking to kill her, and one hoping to protect her. But...
The result was inevitable. 4 legs are better than 2. And he can't use his wings. Not destructively anyways, and him flapping it is definitely destructive. So...
Seeing the old lady's head fly up to the height of the trees as it slowly descends to the ground along with her body collapsing, produced a seething rage inside him. Bloodlust was visible in his eyes as he grew silent.
He then stood up looking at the ground. Even if you can't see his face, it's pretty clear that he had a grim expression that clouded his usually bright face. Staring at the demon with killing intent, its face filled with delight as it feasts on his emotions.
"I don't really know if it's your goal to piss me off, but if it is... Then goddamn, you did a good job!'
Unconsciously increasing the magicule production rate of his now small wings, he dispersed them.
Notice: Improvised skill. Scattered feathers, now active.
Controlled by his bloodlust that filled his body to the brim, he subconsciously created a new skill. With his black wings detaching from his back and flying as individual feathers, it swirled around the mist, slowly dispersing it all.
"Uh, oh no."
"Come here, you dipshit!"
With the position of the Centaur revealed after dispersing all of the mist, he noticed the whole village was deserted. Did they evacuate? He could only hope so. Looking back to his enemy, he slowly started to walk closer to it. While it, however, is also slowly stepping back.
"Fool! Spiritual beings can't be affected by physical attacks! Your measly wings wouldn't do so much as scratch me."
"Is it now? Would you care to test for me?"
With his feathers swirling around his whole body like a tornado, he fearlessly walked to the demon, provoking it. He knows that his wings can damage spiritual beings. Heck, he killed ghosts with it just a month ago. So he's confident that he could kill the demon. Ordering the feathers to attack, it stormed the demon leaving it full of wounds with a frightened expression.
"Say...Since you recognized me as "strong" earlier, can I safely assume that I was stronger than you since the beginning?"
Asking a question while looking at the Demon as if it's hot garbage, he walked ever closer. With a single detached feather tightly gripped on his right arm as if he's holding a dagger, he looked at its blade, spotting a single speck of dirt and wiping it off.
"I'll end you with this-or to be more specific, I'll end you ETERNALLY with this!"
Smiling sadistically whilst still having a disgusted face on his face, his bloodlust dissipated like a fleeting bubble. Shocking the demon to his wits.
'How is this possible?! A Demon progenitor backed by a human like this?!'
Just as what the demon itself thought. How was it possible?
One answer, he fought God himself. Gray might not be actually God himself, but he did become one himself. what Velda Nava gave him is the wings he personally possessed. Although the appearance changed, the unnamed wings are still weapons that have long surpassed reality. And standing up against it is a bad decision. Even after considering that he's a Demon of the highest tier.
"Fool..."
The demon then erased all doubts on his head and disappeared. But this time, he didn't disappear to the mist. And now, he's nowhere to be found. Dispersing his wings that was once crumpled to one area, his feathers flew on all directions. Seeking to kill the demon that escaped.
He's been walking around for hours, restless, with killing and absorbing that demon the only thing in his mind. He has absorbed many different creatures now, he's absorbed spiritual creatures like Ghosts and Lesser Demons. He's absorbed mythical and physical creatures such as spiders and snakes. But he has never absorbed higher demons before. Thinking how much of a power-up it could give him delights his mind. But the thirst for revenge is still there.
No matter how he tries to lie to himself that it's all for the sake of getting stronger, he still can't deny the fact that part of him wants revenge for that old lady. He barely knew her, but one thing he can say is that she helped her. And he thinks that for killing that demon that ravaged her village, he'd be returning the favor.
So even after seeing the sun's rising, he didn't stop looking for that demon. He increased the number of his feathers and made it cover the edges of the whole Jura forest, so escape wouldn't be an option. Finding it would only be a matter of time. And killing it would be a matter of strength. Increase in strength that is.
'There you are.'
Seeing a sinister blue aura leaking from one of the trees, he slowly walked to it. Silently dicing it to pieces with a single feather after.
Slash*
With one of his feathers automatically parrying a swing from the now weakened demon, he looked back at it and tried to grab it. But it again somehow disappeared, only to appear behind him a brief moment later.
It would strike; he would parry, He would attack; it would disappear. This has continued until he finally decided that it's enough.
Recalling all of the feathers that surrounded the whole Jura Forest, he enclosed the whole place. Cutting it's connection to the remaining parts of the world, and erasing the concept of time. With this, it's checkmate.
"Truly...how powerful!"
It said, still hiding from the shadows. Grey raised and twisted his hands, distorting the surrounding space to his preferences. It erased all the trees around them and only revealed both the demon and him in a plain empty field full of grasses and flowers.
"A-are you, The Great One?"
The demon, know kneeling in front of him, asked him with a seemingly curious face. Disgusted by this, Grey kicked it away from him. With his mouth tightly sealed, he held a single feather. It's the same feather that he said he was gonna kill it with.
'I'm a man that keeps my promises.'
He thought, before launching it to pierce the demon's body.
"Let's talk after you've served your sentence."
A moment after the feather pierced the demon, the whole place once again became distorted as it changed its scenery. It became a scenery that would most likely be straight from hell. Lava flowing all over the place as blue flames occasionally erupt around craters. The entire place is hotter than the sun and the fact that he could walk on it is only because he deemed it so. The demon shortly got affected with it since it's fire made with dense magicules and immediately started screaming.
He walked to the demon and lopped his head clean with another feather, before reconstructing his wings and absorbing said head. Soon after, the entire scene started to crumble like it's but a piece of painting. The demon regenerated his head and immediately saw this, it started shedding tears after.
"You are the Great One!"
Before leaving the crumbling space, Grey took one last look at the demon that was shedding tears and said,
"Suit yourself. You won't be coming out of here any time soon anyways."
He then left it and disappeared like a mirage that was running low on light. The demon started getting distorted and shrunk into the size of the feather that's inside him. He's pretty visible inside it as the feather is visibly lit inside. Picking up the now transparent feather, he hid it inside the colony of feathers on his wings and started finding his way back.
"Need some rest," He whispered, as he freed the young girl that he sheltered on a feather. It seems she ended up sleeping, so he carried her bridal style as he traced his way back.
He's finally back to the village where he first saw the demon he hunted. Having another and a clearer look into it, he noticed that it really was the village where he stayed.
It was horrible. All of it. Pools of blood are everywhere, with scattered body parts and messed up insides, the whole village suddenly got painted with a clear shiny shade of terror. Counting to a total of 32, the village did not waste time burying the bodies of their loved ones and offering prayers for them.
Wails, cries, and lamentation were everywhere. Not a single lycanthrope wasn't mourning as they were all praying. Some cursing the heavens, while some wishing for their people's rests. It's a truly sad scene.
It's already night, but the people of the village aren't giving a single hint of either stopping their mourning or stopping their prayers. The whole place was silent as it is empty.
Seeing the chief of the village come to him with a sad expression, the chief asked if he could have a private chat with him. One that which he generously accepted.
Sitting on 2 parallel logs with a fire lit in front of them, the chief had a hard time swallowing as he's having a hard time speaking. He stuttered twice and gritted his teeth while looking at the ground with a guilty expression.
"Uh- G- Mr. Grey... Can I ask you something?"
Flashing a soft smile after realizing the pain he's been hiding, Grey answered, patting the chief on his shoulder afterward.
"It is inevitable. But sir-"
Getting interrupted midway, the chieftain spoke.
"Would it be fine, for me, the village chief, to show weakness at times li...like these?"
Breaking up after completing his sentence, the chief started crying. The container that was holding all those in probably started to falter. Remembering earlier, the village chief himself led the burying of the corpses without shedding a tear. As he said, he probably didn't want to show weakness to his village. But unfortunately, all living beings had a limit. And the village chief wasn't an exception.
"As the chief, I believe you can't. You're the one most expected to raise them back up after they fall, after all. But it seems right now is an exception, Chief. You have me."
Finally screaming out in anguish, the village chief removed his brakes and let it all out. Hugging Grey in the process, that which Grey neither had the reason to refuse or ignore. He didn't experience the pain of losing loved ones back in his own world, so he can't sympathize with them, but the least he could do is lend a shoulder.
"Thank You, Grey. Thank You!"
He whispered, before letting go and walking back to his village.
Walking back to the house where he was allowed to stay, he sat on the bed of the now empty bedroom that was supposed to be the old lady's. Too bad monsters don't have names. Neither he nor her relatives would even be able to visit her grave. Considering how many there is, and how much do they look alike.
Staring at the open bedroom, he saw the same young girl he saved before. Looking back, he realized she's also the same girl that he taught on how to make the fire too. Weird he didn't notice. Probably because of the mist that was interfering with his senses.
She seems to be having trouble sleeping. She's probably diverting her attention at what happened and is trying to sleep it over, but the tears on her face kinda reveal the fact that it's not really working. Seeing this he came up with a plan.
Back when he was young, his younger sister would groan on her sleep under his bed unable to sleep due to the noise. So he took it upon himself and created a solution.
Rolling up his wings as he closes his eyes to concentrate, he imagined the exact image of the tool that he's going to use.
'Hey...'
Sir?
'Listen closely, I want you to do something...'
Understood.
Seeing her now sound asleep, a smile formed on his face without his knowing as some tears also fell. Seeing this made his heart overflow of nostalgia.
His sister used to be so cute, but recently she brags like she owns the world. And he hates it! Why did such angels have to grow up?! Well, it's not like his younger sister does nothing, a matter of fact she's more successful than him. But it's pretty clear which of them enjoyed their lives more, considering the fact that his sister took the Business track.
Contently leaving the room, he noticed the village chief enter the place as he enters the other. They exchanged glances as the chief takes a look at the young girl. Seeing her asleep, he took one last look at Grey then he bowed. saying,
"Truly, Thank You!"
"It's my pleasure, sir."
Replying with a nod, he returned back to his room and closed the door...Wait...
Is she his daughter?!
Recalling the fact that the old man casually entered the room of the young bunny-lycanthrope, he suddenly started to wonder what he was up to.
Dismissing that fact as he sweeps it aside, he collapsed on the bed and just tried to sleep.
But, seriously... Is she his daughter?
Waking up the day after, he instantly got annoyed due to the noise outside.
'What the heck's happening?' He thought.
Going outside, he saw a lot of them hurriedly preparing a feast. It's like the management when a restaurant suddenly realizes that a VIP's visiting their grounds. Reminds him of his college days when his father pranked him and didn't give him any allowance.
But going back on topic, he looked around and instantly eyed a big tree on the shape of an angel. Is it him?
" ! Take a seat!"
As he suspected, the feast IS for him! But...How did they even know that it was he who killed the demon?
Clearing his thoughts, he watched everyone as they prepared a feast fit for only one person. The foods were positioned nicely at a table in front of him as they all watch what his reactions are gonna be.
"How did you all even know?"
"It's the dryads! The dryads told us last night that you were the one that killed the demon! So we prepared this as thanks for both us and their behalfs."
The same young girl told him. She looks much brighter now. That brought relief on him as he took a bite at the big meat that was in front of him.
"! How?!"
It was delicious. Surprisingly. Looking at all of them as their ears raise to the skies, he continued eating with vigor as he chomps to the feast that could easily rival any Michelin class restaurant he was before.
Finishing his feast, he took a bow to everyone thanking them for such a meal. It's the first time he had a proper meal since he came here, and it was delicious. He can't even find the words to actually describe how delicious it was.
Going back to his plans, he then asked the chief to have another private talk with him. He talked with him about the safety and the security of the village. And how he decided to name them to ensure their survival. The village chief's face brightened up in shock as he received the news. Immediately going outside to sort everyone around.
The naming took simple 20 minutes. After all, all that's left of them are a measly 72. 13 families reside in that number as each of them has their designated roles.
Only a few minutes later, he finally decided to say goodbye. He can't be stalled for any longer, he knows that he needs to get stronger. And get stronger fast, so he didn't waste any more time and announced his leave.
Opening his wings, he heard a female voice calling him from behind.
"You're leaving?"
It's that same young girl again. Seeing her sad drooping ears and watery eyes, he squatted to her eye level and patted her eyes.
"I'll be back, Flavia."
Finally they had names...
Seeing him jump as his flaps produce strong gusts of winds, Flavia raised her hands and waved hard.
"We'll be waiting for you! Mr. Grey!"
Seeing the rest of them do the same, he took a feather and dropped it. Signalling his goodbye as well.
'I'll be back alright. And I'll get much stronger."
The whole village, seeing this, raced to where the feather dropped and immediately picked it up. They then crowded and looked at what it was. The feather slowly transformed into a sword, one of the chieftain's size. Seeing the engraved crest in it, he looked up. But the angel was nowhere to be found.
"A fallen angel. huh..."
He took the sword and raised it.
The moment they saw this, all of the village cheered. It's their village's second birth. And this time they will not fall.
And, having an idea for another fanfic...I lost my motivation for this chap halfway through. Sorry for how bad it is lol. By the way, thanks for all the follows and favorites I appreciate it! BTW, Who follows Flavia's spinoff of the story? Huh? She's way too cute! (If you don't agree with me, get out of my fanfic.)
