Me: Hi, this has been rewritten to look a lot better, flow better, and have less timeskips involved. There will be less grammar mistakes as well, so be glad I'm back in 2017 to make this piece of fiction actually work in terms of story. Also... This is made before all the stuff about the Sun and Moon Anime, so no Alolan Pokemon. Or Alolan Forms. Or anything to do with Alola. I'd advise against submitting any OC's because this is technically still done. It's just getting rewritten to be better than the original was.
Star was a human, a teenager, regular in every way, shape, and form. Well, mostly, anyway. She had decided that the Gen 4 games were her favourites, and that a remake would be nice. Maybe. Her favourite Pokemon was Staraptor, a Flying Type, and she had named one after her self in-game. Well, after her nickname, that is. Nobody called her Amelia, eveybody went with Star. It was easier as well. Her family was one of those families who's parents would get a divorce eventually, it was normal after all, and she was currently at her dad's house. She lay on her bed, playing her copy of Diamond again. She browsed through her boxes, finding the Staraptor there. Star. "I'm glad you are OK still" she whispers, though she felt sleep tugging at her. She was tired and she knew it. After playing for a bit longer, getting a bit further through the game, she finally fell to sleep. The game on, still running.
And with that, Star awoke, jumping up and opening her wings... "Wait, what?" she asks herself, turning around and around to try and see what had happened. She had wings. She had feathers. She had claws. She could slightly see out of one eye. "Is this serious?" she asks herself "This isn't PMD, is it? It can't be. You don't get to pick Starly or Staraptor to start as. Why am I here?" this was confusing. And she was nervous. She didn't even know how to fly! And, after looking down, she was a few feet off the groud. And she fell to the ground "OK, OK, so... I'm a Staraptor... I am not human anymore... And I'm not that good with heights either! This has got to be a coincident..." she tells herself. So she practices flying again, working out how it works and how high she'd be happy to go. And then she lands in a tree, to work out how she'd be able to stay up there. "This is uncomfortable... I'll find somewhere else later, maybe..." Star tells herself. And, as if by magic, Star had managed to get to sleep.
Dawn broke over the horizon, and Star woke up, yawning. And then she looks around, still in the tree "This helps(!)" she tells herself, and then she flies back down to the ground. Despite now being a bird Pokemon, she'd rather walk instead. Even if her new body was not really made for walking. Star, after slipping and stumbling many times, growls. And restorts to flying "I don't even think I should be here" she tells herself, wishing she could be home, but was distracted from her thoughts when she heard something. A cry? Maybe. "Whatever. Let's have a look" she tells herself, flying down to find out what was wrong. "Blah blah blah, introduction. What happened?" she asks, her patience clearly nonexistent by this point.
"Do you actually care?" the Altaria asks, looking at Star with a rather dejected look "Altaria and Staraptor never really got along"
"What do you mean? I do care. Why shouldn't we get along?" Star asks, curiosity starting to take over now. This was not the Pokemon World she remembered.
"It's just a general rivalry between Pokemon. No two species really got along. But if you care, thanks" the Altaria had a small smile on her face now "I'm Dragon. Mother asked me to find my brother, Dragonia, but then... Then, she got attacked. By another Pokemon. And it was a vicious attack, and you just missed it..."
"Oh! Really? Well..." did I HAVE to ask? Star sighs. Not what she expected. "Well... I'm Star. I can help find your brother, if you want. It's the least I can do" no it wasn't. The least she could have done was get there earlier.
"Thanks... Thanks a lot... After the incident, not many Pokemon were willing to help others out. Many would fight, a lot would be more... More violent..." Dragon frowns again.
"No, I'm not like them. I want to help. Trust me, Dragon. We need to find your brother. You can fly, right?" Star did not want this much info. Not now. She started flying, Dragon did the same "Now... Lead the way"
"Alright, it's this way!" Dragon comments, going ahead.
The two were now soaring over the forest, looking down at the small trees below. Star did not know how to help Dragon, but she wanted to find a way. Maybe the two could go and help other Pokemon as well? No... Not likely. Dragon told me that Pokemon are more hostile to others of different a species now. Because of an incident. Involving who? "Hey, Dragon... You don't have to answer but... What happened? I don't... I don't remember" she saw Dragon flinch.
"Ahh, well..." the Altaria starts "It all started when a human came here, but was turned into a pokemon. A Shinx. They were destined to save the world, but they didn't. They were attacked by their 'teammates', and... And... Didn't survive. Then trust broke. Between everybody. Another human came, also as a Shinx, and is trying alone. They went missing. Nobody else who used to be a human has come and reported that they are human. They don't want the same fate to them"
"Oh... Thanks for telling me..." Star says, and she gulps. Nobody could know that she used to be a human. Not even Dragon. It would be a secret... A secret she would have to keep from her friend...
