Inuyasha just couldn't help himself, and despite Kagome's warning, he had continued to give her a hard time after she woke up, aggravating her headache. At least she had managed to get her coffee down in peace but after that he was on her. And true to her word, Kagome gave Shippo a cup of black coffee with sugar in it and left him with Inuyasha for the day.
At first it had been ok. When the caffeine and sugar kicked in Inuyasha sent the kit off to play with the village children. That lasted through the morning until they left for naps, the kit having worn them out. When Shippo returned for lunch Sango had given him a treat: a small box of chocolates Kagome her left for him before returning home for the day. Inuyasha could have killed all three of them. Shippo was jacked up on sugar again, and the only person left to play with him was Inuyasha, everyone else off on errands.
Slumped against Goshinboku Inuyasha grumbled to himself under his breath, every so often looking up into the branches of the tree at his captive. Returning that evening, Inuyasha was still in the same place, and hanging from the tree Kagome found Shippo. Staring, slack jawed, she saw his arms were at his sides, rope wound around his middle, and dangling from the lowest branch.
"Inuyasha…"
Walking away he called over his shoulder, "He's yours now. You figure out how to get him down."
